I ordered a club sandwich (be aware, Americans, the bacon here is "back bacon" that more closely resemble ham/canadian bacon than our typical US-bacon...not that it's a bad thing, just something to note). The sandwich was very good. We also got a goat cheese tart salad, and the tarts were delicious. The third entree was a burger, which while good, was a very unique tasting burger. I think it was due to the intense tomato/ketchup flavor. So all-in-all, come here for the nice outdoor view and some fresh, tasty food, but don't come here to save money.

It's probably my favourite vegetarian dish that they do. It's a sensible portion that leaves you satisfied. For dessert I ordered the praline crepe which was again fantastic. You generally find with dessert crepes that they can do no bad no matter where your buying it from. Cotes crepes are above standard in terms of quality with a light pancake and not overly sweet praline feeling. For me in particular this restaurant shines in the summer. It was the sauce again and she said the beef was over cooked and a bit stiff. My youngest ordered the Rib Eye with the béarnaise sauce. The steak could have been more tender and the béarnaise sauce was too bland and we definitely had better.

I came here in 1999 when Raymond opened up this offshoot from his nearby Manoir and he had the grace to call it 'Petit Blanc', none of this Brasserie nonsense. And that may have been 10 years ago but I remember it to be much better. Small, unique and posh but worth it. Raymond seems a nice guy on his TV shows but sorry, this place has really slipped. Whilst we waited for our table to be prepared we were invited to the bar to get a drink. The bar area was busy and vibrant creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I of course ordered the steak with a bloody mary sauce which was a piece of heaven and the missus decided to go for the special which was smoked haddock with crushed potatoes and green beans. We were seated in the bar area and I opted for what I thought was a glass of champagne but it turned out to be a champagne cocktail 'the classic'. Wasn't to my taste! But my mistake. They have no draft beers, but some bottled and a good selection of bottled ciders. We were then seated at a big round table - too big in my opinion cos I felt I needed to shout to everyone on it! The menu looked amazing. As French as you could possibly get so I was in heaven. The waitress then came over and told us half of it they didn't have! Fillet steak minced with pickles and mustard through it, it was quite fiery actually, I think there was quite a bit of Tabasco in it too but it really enhanced the dish. For the main I went for the sirloin steak, served with fries and the best pepper sauce I have EVER tasted. Yes The Yeoman - it beat yours! (can't believe I just said that). I asked for it to be cooked rare but it was slightly overdone. Usually I would have sent it back but it was so tasty I didn't actually need to. Everyone else was thoroughly enjoying theirs too. For pudding I shared a cheese board and again was transported through those pearly white gates. The cheese's where magnific! Melt in your mouth blue, Brie to die for, a lovely smoked one which I thought I wouldn't like. Yum. Yum. YUM! My friends chose the baked Alaska which was flambé'd at the table, it looked amazeballs.
