It's our third time at this place. We waited a bit to be seated after the annual block party. The guy was incredible in moving our party to the couches. The couches is where it's at! We all ordered martinis. We are kind of all over the place. We shared each others drinks. Incredible choices. The menu is huge for martinis. We didn't have food this time around. This is a 3.5 star review. The Stuffed Olive lives in the heart of the ped mall. It gives non-college town vibes with crystal light fixtures, tiled walls, big city pictures-- and just an overall 'swanky' feel. The menu has something for everyone-- from small plates to flat breads to (oddly) a plethora of seafood entrees. Additionally, you can get stuffed olives by the skewer to order. I think this is the only place in town to have such a diverse offering of olives. (But I suppose, with a name like the Stuffed Olive-- you can't not.) I ordered a charcuterie to go and I thought bang per buck was ok? But the quality of ingredients as well as how it was packed was less than to be desired. That being said-- the greeting I got from staff when I walked in to pick up my order was great! I got my order on time and in a hurry. The real star of this IC watering hole is its extensive martini menu -- from traditional to dessert. I've popped in a time or two to enjoy these. And now that I know Mondays are buy one, get one for a penny-- I may pop in a time or two more! Staff has been hit or miss my few visits. Pricing seems on point. Parking, as always in downtown IC, is tricky. I recommend the Dubuque Parking Ramp. Overall, this is a welcomed addition to the downtown scene. Went in on a Monday, early evening. Lots of tables available and we chose a booth in the back. Monday is a two-for-one deal. I am a martini lover and, when I say my martini (extra dirty vodka martini - NOT on the two for one menu) was delicious...I mean! Did a cosmo tini, too, since it was BOGO. Umm... delicious and I will admit, I kind of staggered a bit leaving. Had their seared tuna and kamikaze tuna - both perfectly cooked. Just a great little spot. This place is a Tapas place so know that the portions are going to be on the small side. We loved all the Tapas plates we got. The chicken satay was juicy, flavorful and tender. The crab Rangoons were crunchy, creamy and perfectly complimented by the dipping sauce. We also really loved the spinach and artichoke dip with the fried chips and the stuffed olives with blue cheese. My personal fave was the calamari. The drinks are delicious and strong. We don't drink much so we each stuck to one, but wifey loved her Grapefruit Martini. read more

While the food was good, the service was terrible. The waiter was condescending and attempted to push us out the door when we were planning to order another round of drinks. Asked to recommendation for one of the martinis and he chose the well liquor for me. I was looking forward a quality drink and know my options. This place is so fun and it seems like they really thought everything through in the design of the place too. Hubby and I wanted a date night out somewhere but didn't want an entire meal, so we decided to try this place out. The options for Martinis are seriously endless! I ended up getting stuck between 4 choices and the server was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me pick an option that I really ended up loving! We ordered a couple small appetizers as well. We arrived at 7:30 and by 8 the place was completely packed with people having a great time. There are large sectional couches for larger groups to gather, small couch areas for smaller groups and classic tables and chairs as well. We will definitely be back another time! read more

Visited the Stuffed Olive on a Friday evening and sat outside with our dog ( our waitress brought him a water bowl ). The music three doors down in front of the Graduate was great that night. Our waitress is a member of the Iowa women Field Hockey team, Big Ten and NCAA Champions! She rocked our service and was fun & delightful. Ciara guided us through the menu of martinis and tapas food options. I had perfectly made drinks and we shared the small and medium plate dishes. The sauces served with each were wonderful. It is higher priced than some of the other "bar" options on the ped mall. But we felt the drinks and food were well worth the cost. Nicely done! We will be returning to the Stuffed Olive often. I went there last night to celebrate my birthday with my close friends and end up very disappointed at the manager Ian Baker. After enjoying your indoor establishment, we thought we would check out your outdoor as well and continue our drinks there. We asked our server if it is okay to bring our drinks out and she said okay. We all paid our tabs and proceeded to go outside to your outdoor patio. While checking out the chairs and talking and walking, your manager followed us and yanked the drink out of my friend when she was about to get a sip and walked off. Imagine our surprise! we were all flabbergasted and in shocked! We are all professionals and chose your establishment to enjoy the night and to be treated that way by your unprofessional manager! He could have talked to her and told her she cannot bring the drink outside but to our knowledge it was okay to continue our drinks at your patio area.
