Tonight my friend celebrated her Birthday here! We were seated at 5 and the place filled up fairly quickly; so I'd recommend a reservation. I wanted to step outside for some pictures and of course "the vue" And the manager went out of her way to make this happen. There were steaks, pork chops, burgers, salads, and fish and chips at our table. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a great time!

Filet mignon

I like their steak but I think their whipped potatoes are too cheesy. But overall that's a good fish and I liked the broccolini

Coming here for a special event is always fun. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was live music going on a Friday right before Iowa football Hawkeye game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was bustling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food is good and the music isn't loud enough that you can't talk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What stood out to me, food wise was the crispy Duck wontons as an appetizer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The prices are about as expensive as you will get Iowa City but you go there for the view - no pun intended and high-quality food and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also make sure to use your yelp check in which they honored. It's been my experience many Iowa City restaurants have it, and the weight staff and managers have no clue as they had to take my phone in the back, but at least they took off 1 eight dollar appetizer of our $200 something bill for five people

The cheesecake was a little gritty for my taste.

I can't speak to the vibe of the restaurant or the ambiance but I stayed at the Element nextdoor, and I seen a sign that said this restaurant offered delivery to the rooms, so I took advantage. I called and ordered a meal and dessert, the service over the phone and the delivery were both great!

I came here to the Vue Rooftop with my boyfriend for date night. Great atmosphere (it really does have a great view of Iowa city) drinks were great and so was the food. My boyfriends food was incorrect at first but it was corrected right away and our server made a point to make sure everything was great which we both love (especially since we both have worked in the service industry). Would 100% come back and highly recommend!!!

Had a beautiful evening dinner at Vue! Their service is impeccable, and our waitress was fun to interact with for the evening. She recommended the pork chop, which was one of the juiciest pork chops I've had in a long time. The food was great and I wanted to enjoy about three more cocktails as delicious as this one was. Appetizer: cheese curds (4/10) Soup: tomato bisque (10/10) Entree: Iowa pork chop (7/10) Cocktail: Four Birds Calling (10/10) Tip: get a table by the window, if possible and enjoy a beautiful views day or night out over Iowa City. During the summer, enjoy their open air patio, but it will fill up quickly.

We love going to the Vue on game weekends, it's a great spot to get drinks and a bite to eat and catch up with friends also just getting into town! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view is amazing, look at the sunset view I got the other day![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During my brother's recruitment process, they also had us all go up here for a welcome dinner and we've gone back multiple times since. Usually we'll sit at the bar, but this past time we ordered dinner too and the service is always so lovely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]People love to chat here also, we're always meeting new people![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was on a trip to Iowa and wondered where I could get a nice meal, ambiance, and have a nice time after an event. I was invited to Vue, and it checked all the boxes. I had the fried Walleye Po Boy. It was seasoned very well. I also had the mashed potatoes which were delicious. The menu had great selections, there was much more I will choose next time I visit. The scenic view just added to this wonderful restaurant.

Constance, We do indeed have a kids menu! Hope to see you and the kiddos soon. Thank you for…

Are bottomless mimosas offered at brunch? I swear I remember hearing that but haven't seen it written anywhere.

The $50 sirloin steak was served cold. Because our waitress, Grace H, failed to even ask how our food was the entire time until after we had eaten everything I couldn't even send it back. I spent the entire time trying to make eye contact with her but she was busy taking new tables. When she finally came to ask how our food was and was told, her response was I will let the kitchen know. Not "I will bring you another plate" or even discount or comp the entree. Not what you'd expect from Iowa city's fine dining flagship. The prices were not just expensive, but over the top expensive. $50 for an 8 ounce sirloin. $56 for 12 average oysters. To be honest it's below average in value to a nice restaurant in LA, NY or Chicago. They may thrive because the IC elite doesn't have many options for upscale dining. But for someone who has lived in those cities and eaten at Michelin star culinary venues this place is lacking in both food and service for the prices they charge. It was enough of a bad experience that I will never be back. There's Chez Grace, Joseph's and 126 which offer quality food, much better value and food service. Posting my food pics and the receipt to see what $200 gets you here.

The downtown is very lively and extremely walkable. Iowa Chop House is located in downtown Iowa City. I went there for dinner on a Sunday and had the steak salad and asparagus. Both were excellent. I was served by Grace who was an excellent waitress and I enjoyed talking to her about the town and university. I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The only downside was the desert which I had a tiramisu which I'm spoiled and have better tiramisu before. However the steak salad & asparagus side was perfect. I visited only a day when graduation happened one week prior so the university students were away. The waitress explained normally downtown becomes very crowded during the semester. I will forever remember my brief visit to Iowa City. Thank you Iowa City

I can't remember our server's name but it started with a M. She was great! We got sweet potato fries and cheese curds for appetizers. The desserts were excellent. I really enjoyed the tiramisu and crème brûlée. We also got the chocolate cake and ice cream. The beer barn was cool but if you don't pour it right, you get a lot of foam. I feel like since we had a party of 7, it was challenging to get the steaks to our exact temperature but my mother in law got well done and it was cooked to medium.

My lady and I stopped in while visiting my dad, and we were seated and greeted quickly. However, it took quite a while--about 10 minutes--for our server to come back and take our orders. To be fair, they did seem a bit understaffed for the number of guests. We ordered the Woodbury and Dickinson chicken sandwiches. Both were pretty average, with the Dickinson being the better of the two. Surprisingly, the French fries ended up being the highlight of the meal--not something I normally feel the need to mention, but they stood out more than the entrées. One thing to note: bring your own condiments. They charge $1 for a small ranch cup, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, I'd probably skip Stella's when visiting Iowa City.
