All of this was new to me. I had only had my eyebrows waxed over the years. Somewhere along the way, between covid, my cosmetologist changing professions and financial hardship, I had been plucking them at home. I had pretty sculpted eyebrows for years and years but my plucking got out of hand. I needed help! I did my research on the latest services available for eyebrows nowadays, which were not offered locally in Clinton or Roseboro, that I could find. I started doing my research online for places in Fayetteville. After viewing many different locations and reading review after review, I decided on Donia at Eye Envy. I wasn't going to let just any Tom, Dick or Harry work on my eyebrows. Donia had great reviews!! She was the person I needed! I just knew it. On her website, I made an appointment and paid the necessary fee to schedule with her. $10.00. Cool. She promptly responded. She emailed me several pages of policies to read,sign, and email back. I was so excited! I made it clear I was a newby and hoped I had chosen the appropriate service for me. It was for Henna tinting. She had also sent a few texts. She seemed so nice. Couldn't wait. Everything was set. The address was her home address. A nice gated community. She had left my name with the guard to let me in. I arrive at her house, we quickly said our "Heys and How are yous". Two requirements in her paperwork were to wear a mask and remove your shoes upon entering. I had my mask on. She didn't. I didn't hesitate a second further before I started the motion to remove my shoes. She hastily says "You know, this henna isn't going to help you at all and I don't want to waste your money". I had just driven over an hour to get there. Prior to my arrival, I had gotten a full body massage. I think that is what saved me that day from losing my cool. I told her that I wish I had of known and that I had just drove over an hour to get there. On the inside, I was thinking, Is she really serious right now!!?? She did seem like a nice lady and she apologized. I was so disappointed. Did she This happened about 4 weeks ago. I knew I was definitely going to give her a review, which I rarely do. I respectfully did everything she required and asked of me but she left me feeling disrespected that day. She sent me an email after I left stating the $10.00 was refunded to my debit card and she hoped I would use her services in the future. This is a long review to say, I felt my experience was great until I actually arrived for the appointment and any existing professionalism went out the window. It was shitty (for the lack of a better term). I hadn't even been there long enough for her to look at my eyebrows. Not even 10 seconds. I informed her what shape and condition my eyebrows were in from the beginning. I suggest, to Donia, that she should actually read and pay attention to what a new client is communicating to her and be more respectful of other's time. She had strict cancellation policies. Practice what you preach! I appreciate her not wanting to waste my money and I do not doubt her talent and abilities but she did waste my time with all those forms and my time and gas traveling there and back unnecessarily. Since gas is so cheap anyways!! Why did she let it go that far? May yo she continue to do good work and please your clientele in the future. I'm not a mean person but I don't like people to make me feel the way she did that day. It just wasn't meant for me to get that henna tinting done. I searched around and saw how highly rated she was and figured it was worth at least calling to see if she'd be able to squeeze me in. I was in luck. She accommodated me and took me :)!! Her business is clean, and beautifully decorated. She's friendly, professional, oh and did I mention quick?? Also, she makes sure that you're comfortable as well with the wax temperature etc. In short A+++++++. If I'm in town again and need waxing services, no doubt about it, she's the one to go to. What a relief to find a great waxing service in Fayetteville!…read more Quick- check! Minimal pain- check! Good hygiene- check! G'nique's facilities are small, but clean, comfortable, and cozy. She's super friendly and makes you comfortable during the process. I was finished in about 15 minutes. She's good about checking with you whether you're comfortable, if you've had certain wax services before, if you're comfortable with the wax temperature, getting off any possible stray pieces of wax, etc... When we were finished, I asked her to remove a few strands of stray hair around my belly button and she was more than happy to oblige. Best of all, no tweezing needed at the end. I pay more for a Brazilian wax with her than I did back in Cali, but not by much. She's about $5 -$10 more, But for good reliable service, she's worth it. I checked in on Yelp and received a $5 discount. Savings are savings! Her prices are on her website, as well as in her shop, which I appreciate. Recommendation: She only takes appointments. No walk-ins. She's a one woman show and she's told me that almost all of her clients are currently wax clients, so she hasn't had time for couple's massages. Her staff was so sweet and willing to learn. They just opened October 19, 2024. The place is beautifully clean kept up and family run they give you a drink upon sitting down and you have a nice snack to nibble on if needed as a new client. The first time you come you get 20% off as well as a small bottle of lotion. The attention to detail is amazing and I could not speak better about this place.

Review of Eva's Nail Bar - A Highly Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience…read more I visited Eva's Nail Bar expecting a relaxing gel pedicure and a full set of rounded French tip acrylics before an important event. I brought in a photo reference and clearly communicated what I was looking for, both in shape and style. The first technician cut my nails much shorter than I requested. I immediately let him know I wanted them longer, and although I remained polite and clear, he seemed frustrated and eventually passed me off to the owner. Once I was in the owner's chair, things quickly went from disappointing to completely inappropriate. She seemed rushed and did not take the time to confirm my preferences. Without asking, she began doing a dip powder French tip rather than acrylics. When she asked if I wanted a second dip of pink, I said yes, not realizing it would result in a very bright pink base, completely unlike the neutral nude shade I had shown her in the photo. When I respectfully let her know that the color and shape did not match what I had requested, she became visibly irritated and defensive. I asked if the shape could be adjusted and if the color could be corrected. Rather than taking the feedback professionally, she raised her voice and refused. When I asked her why she was yelling, she responded loudly that she was the owner and this was her place of business, as if that justified her behavior. It was clear at that point that she had no regard for basic customer service. She was intentionally making a scene in front of the other clients. What followed was incredibly uncomfortable. She escalated the situation by threatening to call the police if I did not pay, even though I never once said I would not. I was calm and composed throughout, asking for a resolution, not a refund or a confrontation. At one point, another employee, an older gentleman who said he was prior service, apologized to me for how I was being treated. That speaks volumes. After nearly 15 minutes of back and forth, she reluctantly reshaped the nails slightly, but they still did not resemble the look I had requested. I asked if she could at least remove them so I could go elsewhere to have them corrected, and she refused. She told me I could pay another salon to fix them. What should have been a peaceful moment of self-care before an event turned into an embarrassing and stressful situation entirely caused by the owner's lack of professionalism and respect. She did not just mistreat a customer. She embarrassed herself and her staff in the process. And despite all of this, I still tipped, not for the service, but for the time. That is the kind of person I am. I will never return, and I cannot recommend Eva's Nail Bar to anyone looking for a respectful or professional salon experience.
