All of this was new to me. I had only had my eyebrows waxed over the years. Somewhere along the way, between covid, my cosmetologist changing professions and financial hardship, I had been plucking them at home. I had pretty sculpted eyebrows for years and years but my plucking got out of hand. I needed help! I did my research on the latest services available for eyebrows nowadays, which were not offered locally in Clinton or Roseboro, that I could find. I started doing my research online for places in Fayetteville. After viewing many different locations and reading review after review, I decided on Donia at Eye Envy. I wasn't going to let just any Tom, Dick or Harry work on my eyebrows. Donia had great reviews!! She was the person I needed! I just knew it. On her website, I made an appointment and paid the necessary fee to schedule with her. $10.00. Cool. She promptly responded. She emailed me several pages of policies to read,sign, and email back. I was so excited! I made it clear I was a newby and hoped I had chosen the appropriate service for me. It was for Henna tinting. She had also sent a few texts. She seemed so nice. Couldn't wait. Everything was set. The address was her home address. A nice gated community. She had left my name with the guard to let me in. I arrive at her house, we quickly said our "Heys and How are yous". Two requirements in her paperwork were to wear a mask and remove your shoes upon entering. I had my mask on. She didn't. I didn't hesitate a second further before I started the motion to remove my shoes. She hastily says "You know, this henna isn't going to help you at all and I don't want to waste your money". I had just driven over an hour to get there. Prior to my arrival, I had gotten a full body massage. I think that is what saved me that day from losing my cool. I told her that I wish I had of known and that I had just drove over an hour to get there. On the inside, I was thinking, Is she really serious right now!!?? She did seem like a nice lady and she apologized. I was so disappointed. Did she This happened about 4 weeks ago. I knew I was definitely going to give her a review, which I rarely do. I respectfully did everything she required and asked of me but she left me feeling disrespected that day. She sent me an email after I left stating the $10.00 was refunded to my debit card and she hoped I would use her services in the future. This is a long review to say, I felt my experience was great until I actually arrived for the appointment and any existing professionalism went out the window. It was shitty (for the lack of a better term). I hadn't even been there long enough for her to look at my eyebrows. Not even 10 seconds. I informed her what shape and condition my eyebrows were in from the beginning. I suggest, to Donia, that she should actually read and pay attention to what a new client is communicating to her and be more respectful of other's time. She had strict cancellation policies. Practice what you preach! I appreciate her not wanting to waste my money and I do not doubt her talent and abilities but she did waste my time with all those forms and my time and gas traveling there and back unnecessarily. Since gas is so cheap anyways!! Why did she let it go that far? May yo she continue to do good work and please your clientele in the future. I searched around and saw how highly rated she was and figured it was worth at least calling to see if she'd be able to squeeze me in. I was in luck. She accommodated me and took me :)!! Her business is clean, and beautifully decorated. She's friendly, professional, oh and did I mention quick?? She's super friendly and makes you comfortable during the process. I was finished in about 15 minutes. She's good about checking with you whether you're comfortable, if you've had certain wax services before, if you're comfortable with the wax temperature, getting off any possible stray pieces of wax, etc... When we were finished, I asked her to remove a few strands of stray hair around my belly button and she was more than happy to oblige. Best of all, no tweezing needed at the end. I pay more for a Brazilian wax with her than I did back in Cali, but not by much. She's about $5 -$10 more, But for good reliable service, she's worth it. I checked in on Yelp and received a $5 discount. Savings are savings! Her prices are on her website, as well as in her shop, which I appreciate. Recommendation: She only takes appointments. No walk-ins. She's a one woman show and she's told me that almost all of her clients are currently wax clients, so she hasn't had time for couple's massages. The guy doing my nails asked me if I wanted them shorter I told him slightly but not much shorter because I liked the length I had as you can see my nails are over half of the length they were before which was the first issue. When doing my French I showed him a picture of a deep French tip nail when he did my French it was very crooked and uneven and just looked horrible when I asked him if he could redo it and showed him the picture of how I wanted it, when I was explaining how I wanted it he cut me off and was like "OK OK" in a very rude manner he redid it and put it under the light and I pointed out how crooked it was and he filed it off and ended up having another lady do my French tip. The lady who did my French did a good job and she was actually very kind. However even with the French tip part being pretty the rest of the nails just look awful. My nails are WAY too thick and bulky bc of that they look very unflattering. When he was applying my acrylic he was rushing it and rushing the filing he was also very rough when doing all of this, I didn't notice until after I left the salon but I have gaps underneath all of my nails it looks like a weeks worth of nail grow out not like I just got a fill. Some of my nails are crooked and the shape is not good at all it's not even and some of the nails aren't filed correctly which I once again didn't notice until after I left the salon. After a few hours I decided to call back the salon which I usually don't do but my nails looked AWFUL, I told her the issue with the nails having gaps and she offered for me to come back in and fix them I told her I was unable to because of work and that I wouldn't be able to come back for another week due to work she told me to send her pictures of my nails which I did she then offered me a 10$ discount off my next set (mind you this set costed me a little over 70$ and they look horrible) and then told me that next time I need to say something before I leave even after me telling her I didn't notice the gaps and uneven nails until AFTER leaving the salon. She also told me to tell them to paint the color closer to the cuticle next time which I have NEVER heard of and I have been getting my nails done for years because who wants to pay for nails that look grown out?? I asked for a 10-20$ refund not even a full refund because I don't feel comfortable paying for another set from here after the way my nails came out this time and I haven't heard anything back. I found out my friend also went here to get her nails done and had a very similar experience. From my experience i will not be returning and for anyone wanting to go here I would say save your money and go somewhere else.
