There are a lot of things I want people to stop doing on yelp, but more than anything else, I want people to stop lying about these international restaurants just because they, like I, got duped by TikTok videos. I saw so many videos and read so much hype about this place. I was excited to try it. I was just as disappointed when I threw out my burrito after a couple of bites. The food here is not good. It is so basic. I ordered chili cheese fries, and a burrito. For the burrito, you have to complete a form for your customizations, which I thought was going to be efficient. Unfortunately, despite my burrito, having everything in it that it was supposed to, I was overwhelmed by the massive amount of onions. Additionally, I was underwhelmed by the amount of shrimp inside my burrito. There weren't many at all and the entire burrito literally tasted like nothing. I ordered the shrimp and mahi. There was absolutely nothing remarkable about it. For a second, I almost wondered if I had Covid because the flavor was so lacking. But after speaking to friends of mine who also visited, I realized that I wasn't the only one. In total, I spent about US$32 on an order of chili cheese fries, a jerk, chicken, quesadilla, and a burrito. Fries: so bland. I wanted to throw them out, but I saved them and took them back to my hotel and added salt. It helped a bit, but these were overwhelmingly underseasoned and lacking flavor. The portion, however, was huge. Two out of five. Burrito: more mahi-mahi than shrimp, and neither protein was flavorful. The entire burrito was very bland and was full of more onions than I would ever care to eat. The burrito wasn't OK size, but it did not taste good. Two out of five. Jerk, chicken quesadilla: basic. Not super flavorful. And the chicken did not taste like jerk chicken at all. It didn't even have jerk flavor. Didn't even taste like they rolled the chicken in a little bit of jerk before cooking it. Three out of five. The staff noticed that I did not eat much of my food and asked if I didn't like it. I informed them that I did not like it and that I didn't think it had enough flavor. They did not care. I didn't fully expect them to because I know customer service is very different in Mexico, but I expected more. She even asked if the burrito was too spicy, which was hilarious because there was nothing spicy or even flavorful about it. This is very much a hole in the wall, kind of spot that has been blown up on social media. Very casual vibes, and there appears to be a small roof area where you can overlook the street. I would not return here. I also would not recommend it. Another example of influencers likely getting free food in exchange for review reviews. However, they do have a sign up that says you can get a free shot if you leave a review.

Probably the best spot I tried in Cancun, I cam here multiple times. The first time I had grilled chicken wings, cajun style. And it was the best jerk I've ever had. The meat was so juicy and soft with a big portion of rice, beans and plantains. Another time I had the coconut shrimp with fries and it was amazing. I truly felt full afterwards, each piece was big and well marinated with great side sauces. The environment is great as the place is not too far from the beach, and with a good music in the background. Note the prices are little bit expensive compared to what would expect in cancun. But overall its worth it

Really delicious and filling meal. The smoothie was fresh and big enough to share for two people. The breakfast burrito was huge and had a good balance of ingredients. Shrimp tacos were really good although I wasn't expecting so much beans. Service was quick and seating is good when not too busy. Staff answered any questions we had about the menu items. Chill spot for a morning meal and getting energy for the rest of your day.

My first time in Mexico. And somehow I end up staying across the street from this place?!? What luck! I got the shrimp and Mahi burrito and my wife had the shrimp and Mahi tacos. I didn't try hers because hers was kinda like mine. We both got spinach soft shells too. She also got a watermelon vodka drink that was huge. It's a really cool set up and fine outdoor eating. The only real downside is all the people who are not a part of the restaurant trying to sell you cocaine.

Best tacos we had in Cancun, incredible (and large) classic margarita. Laid back vibes, just steps outside of the very crazy hotel district. You can build your own tacos/burrito. I got surf and turf tacos, my husband got jerk chicken. Both were seasoned to perfection. Staff was friendly, attentive and engaging.

I came here here for breakfast with my friend while we were staying in Cancun, and the surfing burrito definitely hit the spot. We both ordered custom breakfast burritos, which were absolutely packed and so delicious. Interestingly, when we were there, they were out of both of the original, and the whole wheat wraps, so we had to go with the flavored ones. We also shared one of the smoothies, which was absolutely delicious. It comes in a 1L jar, which is quite large, so the two of us were able to share it. The spot is quite cute, they definitely small, and has basically three bar style tables with stools. We didn't have any issues finding seats, though I could see this place getting quite busy. The music was also excellent and a total vibe. I have to take off one star because their credit card machine was not working at the time so we had to pay in cash.

Saw this spot on Triple D and when we planned a trip to Cancun, I put it on my list. If you're in the hotel zone, it's right in there and easy to get to by city bus or walking (if you're close). As others said, it's got three small tables outside and it's next to a circle k (think mini mart/ gas station store). Service was friendly and the menu is in pesos. They do take credit cards. Be prepared for a bit of a wait on food. Margarita was huge and refreshing on a hot, humid day. It's worth a trip,

First time in cancun and this place by far gave us the "mexican" food taste we were looking for. After a few hiccups at tourist dumps in the hotel zone. Finally picked the right spot! Food was so good we went two days in a row I wish I was rich I would fly down to it weekly. Great service great staff amazing food. I would never disrespect this place and call it a hole in the wall. This tiny spot is HUGE in everything they offer. Everything made cook to order and from scratch!

TLDR : Great food, nice service and refreshing drinks Surfin Burrito was a the only joint we ended up repeating during our 4 day stay in cancun. This place is small and has community style 3 long tables to be shared. With a local Mexican joint feeling Surfin Burrito did not disappoint. Their burritos were great, the shrimp ceviche was amazing and the nachos were ok.

Food was fantastic, husband actually wants to hit it again before we leave town!! He had the red burrito (chipotle) steak and chicken with habanero sauce! I had the Quesobarrio that was awesome as well! The drinks were also good Barbie Mezacali and the jagerbomb. Service was quick and helpful.. and the ambiance was fun!

super, super small shack, barely any place to sit. bf and i got lucky. came around 5pm new years eve you order and pay first. service is kind of slow. food is delicious though, just unpretentious, casual tacos/burritos. if you wanna use the bathroom, you'd have to walk through the kitchen where you'll witness behind the scenes. it's clear that the kitchen doesn't prep ahead of time and makes food fresh. bf and i ordered a lime margarita but ended up getting served a passionfruit margarita. we also ordered a fried "catch of the day." turns out the catch of the day was nothing because when we got our tacos, there wasn't any meat. but it took my boyfriend and i a while to realize that because the tacos was covered in sauces and veggies (still tasty tho). we told the waiter who then brought over tacos with the actual catch of the day (fish). but funny enough, still don't know exactly what fish we ate since we weren't told what it was and couldn't be bothered to ask again.

Dinner in the cancun strip…read more We decided to pick Porfirio's for the evening from all of the restaurants outside of the all inclusive resorts. I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

Anyway: the food, presentation of the dishes itself, and the overall vibe: 4/5. My favorite dish was definitely the steak. The bone marrow is better off being plain without all the stuff they put on top. The steak itself was perfectly cooked & seasoned. I should've took more pictures of the food but whatever- the mango tuna thing with avocado was delicious. Very mango forward. Great alongside some salsa as well. The octopus: OK enough, slightly overcooked. Chewy. Chicharron guac was yum. Our server was so sweet in the beginning but had an attitude after getting tipped 25% LOL other than that, great experience :)

Once we stepped onto the deck overlooking the lagoon, the whole experience elevated even further. The scenery was stunning, soft lights reflecting off the water, a gentle breeze, and live music drifting through the air like the perfect soundtrack to an already unforgettable night. Then came the food, each dish was its own little masterpiece. The bread service alone set the tone: warm, golden rolls with just the right touch off salt. The wedge salad followed. It was crisp, cold, and generously dressed, with smoky bacon and bright tomatoes adding all the right contrasts. The dry-aged steak was the star of the table, cooked perfectly with that deep, rich flavor only dry-aging can create. The roasted peppers and silky sauce on the side made every bite feel intentional. The octopus was another standout, tender, beautifully charred, and plated with a vibrant puree that balanced the dish with a touch of sweetness. One of the best plates we had. The table got more entrees since there were 8 of us but didn't get pictures. Sea brass was another favorite. Even the lobster soup arrived with flair: a velvety bowl paired with a seafood-topped toast that brought texture and richness together in one elegant bite. The beef tartare with fries was classic and fresh, refined without losing its fun. Dessert turned into a full performance. The liquid-nitrogen ice cream came with swirling clouds of cold vapor, dramatic and delicious. The birthday cake arrived crowned with berries and a sparkling candle that lit up the whole table. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any more whimsical, out came the towering blue cotton candy, playful, over-the-top, and impossible not to smile at. Harry's doesn't just serve dinner. We came to Harry's a couple years back when we visited Cancun and I am celiac and I had a lovely dinner with my partner. On this visit, we were seated at a beautiful table and we ordered drinks. Our waiter, a bald headed young man 30s, refused to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. I am celiac not vegan. I was told there was nothing I could eat except steak and he proceeded to show us the entire steak selection. Truthfully I was feeling slightly unwell from not eating the entire day. I felt like fish, he said I can give you dry fish no sauce on top. He suggested maybe we just do appetizers. We had a 8 pm dinner reservation, what the hell would I want to order appetizers and call it day? This waiter was chit chatting with his maitre'd and other wait staff and I felt terribly uncomfortable that i was told I couldn't eat anything from the men, we we all know was ridiculous and not true. We finished our drinks and asked for the check. I made a reservation for Porfirios next door bc I could see they had some gluten free options. Harry's used to be accommodating but no longer. We will not come to Harry's again for food. Not only this, the waiter was trying to once again embarrass us by advising us that we could walk to Porfirios, next door to the restaurant from the back patio. We got up and began walking towards the patio and suddenly I realized he was totally making a fool of us, why would we go from the back if we have to check in with the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant? We walked straight out of Harry's from front door. Never again. So disrespectful and such a rude experience. Not only this, Harry's canceled/ removed our open table reservation (even though we fulfilled it and paid for our drinks and still tipped generously), so I cannot even leave a review and send a private message to the restaurant. Pathetic customer service.
