Wow! This is one of the best sushi places I think I've ever had and there are a lot of great places I've tried in the Edmonton area. An ad for this had come up on my instagram a few months ago. I had bookmarked this to try out one of these days as the food looked good and I also heard good things about it. As my friend and I had plans in Leduc I figured it would be nice to stop here for dinner. I like how their booths are all private. There is a call button in the booth so that you can ring them anytime you need service. They also have the wifi password taped onto the wall in the both. The service was very prompt as soon as we pressed the button someone arrived within 1 minute. The staff was very kind and attentive. The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday night which was kind of nice. They have a pretty decent sized menu with a variety of options. I love how they have photos of each roll and list which rolls are fully cooked and which ones aren't. We ordered the sexy mexican roll, volcano roll, and the scallop extravaganza. All were delicious! The fish was very fresh as was the rice. Each roll was a good size and packed with flavour. The price was pretty on par with all sushi places. Although I didn't order this, the tempura pieces were massive from the orders I saw that went out. This is definitely a place I'll become a regular at. Right now this is our go to spot for sushi because it's pretty consistently good. They've always been quick making our take out orders, always accurate and they never miss any part of our order. We usually order take out and drive home about 15-20 minutes to the edge of Edmonton (worth it in our opinion). Their prices are pretty standard, but we found them to be a bit cheaper than most places in Edmonton (not very much but a few dollars here and there make a difference overall). We've usually gone with their platters, which consist of mostly variants of California rolls (a general crowd pleaser) and other things with the crab meat style rolls. The nigiri (rice with fish on top) are always fresh tasting and the pieces are always big (not too thick either). If you aren't a huge fan of lots of California rolls and crab meat, then I'd suggest just ordering à la carte. All their rolls are pretty solid and you almost can't go wrong with any of them (pick to taste of course). As far as starters and appetizers go, tempura is always very fresh and not battered too thick, it's still hot even after the drive home. We also have tried the edamame which is salted just enough, if you're into those beans, it's a good pick. The Agedashi tofu is also a good appetizer to get if you like that, the sauce was perfect. The staff is always friendly and never makes you feel rushed, even on the phone when they're probably in the middle of doing other things. Out by the airport(ish), there's not much, head about five more minutes south and you'll hit this place and a bunch of others. Decor is restrained cliche, which at least leads to some very private booths. Staff are pretty decent too. Food is, well, nothing special. But you know it's safe when your tuna sashimi come out so cold you can tell they were previously frozen. Cuts are pretty generous for the assorted sashimi dinner, fish quality is what you'd expect from a strip mall sushi joint in a part of town not known for its Japanese food. read more

Wow! Yelpers you did NOT let me down! I must admit, I was a bit skeptical when my hubby's 94 year old Grandmother suggested we try a new Sushi place in Leduc! I quickly checked the Yelp app on my phone and was BLOWN away at the reviews and rating of this place. When I saw that Elite Yelper, Alouise D., gave it 5 stars - I said, count me in! We came in a party of 5 to celebrate my husband's birthday complete with two kiddos under 6 in tow. We ordered SO many things I cannot possibly remember them all but I'll do my best: Gyoza's (pork) $7.50 - decent but nothing exciting and I wouldn't order again Spring Rolls (pork) $6.95 - delicious as expected Ika Karaage (calamari) $8.95 - disappointing, don't bother ordering this. Bland, boring, nothing to write home about and small pieces with lots of breading - ring shaped. Spicy Agedashi Tofu ($6.50) - DELICIOUS but could totally be spicier :-) I used the left over sauce to dip my tempura in later. Seaweed Salad (as an option with our bento) - Wanted to love this but didn't :-( Seafood Sunomo (Japanese vermicelli noodle salad) - Also didn't care for this but this could just be my personal taste preference. Miso Soup (with bento box) - Excellent. Chitlins are accustomed to Miso but lapped this up so fast, we had to order more! Tempura Udon (Japanese noodle soup) $12.95 - Worth every penny! Delicious and great broth, though they didn't bring the spicy seasoning with it I am accustomed to at most places. Large order and plenty to share or great for a meal on it's own. Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box $18.75 - rice, salad choice, 8 pcs California roll, 4 pcs tempura, and miso soup. Good value and good quality but the chicken was not a hit with our group in comparison to the beef. Beef Teriyaki $18.95 - Same as above except the chitlins gobbled up the beef so fast that I was lucky to try one morsel! This was a hit and next time we will be ordering wto Beef Teriyaki Bento Boxes or Teriyaki Beef Rice Bowls for sure! We ordered 3 additional sushi (maki) rolls to share but I cannot remember the names. 1 was a salmon with mango and an apple sauce puree - sounded sooo good but didn't live up to the hype. 1 was the deep fried dynamite roll with a honey mustard and bbq sauce drizzle - this was a huge hit with my husband but I did not care for the honey mustard drizzle at all so I took one bite and passed on the rest. The other was a spicy double fried shrimp of some sort and I loved that one. Next time, I'd stick with more traditional rolls but we went out of our comfort zone and picked things I thought my husband would like For dessert, I wished they offered some traditional fare but they only had items like chocolate cake, cheesecake, and tiramisu. WEIRD if you ask me but my daughter had her heart set on a dessert for Daddy's birthday so she had the chocolate fudge cake and loved it. Not me, but that's okay. I'm perfectly happy with a savory meal sans dessert. There was soooooooooo much food that we literally took home 3 take out boxes and the bill with tips was incredibly affordable. The same fare would have been an easy $40-$50 more at comparable reastaurants in Edmonton. My kids loved watching the staff prepare our orders at the sushi bar and the staff could not have been friendlier! Plenty of seating with table and booth options. My family comes here allllll the time, and I finally got around to writing a review! This is one of the best spots I've ever found for sushi, including the coastal cities I've visited. Their specialty rolls are works of art, and off the charts delicious. We always order a group favorite and try one or two new rolls each visit. I've never had one I didn't like! Tonight we had the crunchy shrimp roll, the crazy Leila (family favorite) and the calamari roll. All mind blowing delicious, unique flavour, gorgeous presentation, fresh ingredients and even the fried rolls aren't too greasy. The seating isn't the most comfortable, but they do have some tables that feel more private, which I like. The server tonight was possibly the worlds kindest human, and although they were busy and the service was slow I didn't even care because she was so lovely and the food was bomb (and they aren't usually slow!) I've only dined in once but I've been a few times to pick up and take back to work, both with the original owners and the new ones. Service is always friendly, and prices are fair. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi in the Edmonton area, but it also isn't the worst, thst being said I have no worries ordering from here. They could tidy the interior a bit better, but, whatever. Options for food in Leduc are limited if you want something other than pub style food from the weaker chains that provide that type of cuisine or pizza. Give it a try. read more

We were driving though Leduc and we felt like a late lunch so on to Yelp I went and found this place. It had pretty good reviews so it was the winner in the sushi lunch lottery for us. We walked in and the place was pretty empty. One other couple and a take out were the only ones here. We sat down to quick and pleasant service but once we ordered it was a bit of a chore to get more tea. I guess one of the downsides of a late lunch, the staff are usually getting ready for the evening crowd. We ordered 4 rolls. Pretty good sushi. I'm not sure it rates among the top sushi finds I've had but if your in the area and craving sushi it's worth the stop. read more

Yes a 5 star sushi place in Leduc. Is this the best sushi restaurant in the world? Not sure about that, because I haven't been to every sushi restaurant in the world. For being located in a small city, in the middle of landlocked Alberta is it the best I've been to? Yes, yes it is. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and is pretty new - I think it might be open about a month. It's sandwiched in between a snowboard shop and a spa. Weird, right? Well get over that because the restaurant is really nice, dark wooden benches, black chairs, very modern. And the food is good. There's about 9 pages on the menu, and that didn't include the special dinner bento box handout or the drinks. Being a sushi place there is sushi, and you have your standard rolls. If you want to ease into things with a California roll or an avocado roll they've got that, but there's also some crazy specialty rolls like the caterpillar roll that I had, which has crab meat, avocado, cucumber & bbq eel topped with avocado, tobiko & bbq sauce drizzle. There's nigiri (ala cart sushi), sashimi, sushi cones, bento boxes, udon soup, yaki soba, teriyaki, rice bowls, and they have robata, which is Japanese BBQ. My friends got the bacon wrapped scallops from the robata meun and were very impressed by them. They were huge and apparently delicious. I got the takoyaki which is a deep fried batter of octopus. It's crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside and delicious combination of salty and sweet. The prices are more than you're gonna pay for fast food sushi, but it's not as pricey as it could be. My meal was about $20 with tip and I left full. The quality of the food is quite good, and the service was nice, quick (but not suspiciously so) and friendly. My party agreed our one complaint would be that our food came out spaced really weird. I got my sushi about 5 minutes before my friends, and their scallops took a few minutes. A bit of a pain, but not enough to affect my opinion of the restaurant severely. I'm sure with time and practice the timing of sending out dishes will improve. Sometimes new, and more international (aka not a burger place) restaurants have a hard time surviving in a small city market like Leduc, but The Sushi Factory was a pretty bustling place for a cold, snowy night in November. So I have never had sushi before...and I still haven't tried it yet! But I tell ya, The Sushi Factory makes one mean bento box. I did have California rolls and they were delicious (I'm still working my way up to sushi, very slowly clearly). The beef was cooked perfectly and nice and tender, and the tempura shrimp and veggies were amazing - I didn't know what some of the veggies were, but hey deep fried is deep fried in my opinion and I liked it all the same. The rice and miso were great little additions to complete the meal. The staff were very friendly and the kitchen killed it - I will be a repeat customer in the very near future, and maybe I'll get 1 step closer to trying out some sushi!! read more

This was our first eating here and we are always wary of Alberta sushi since we are quite far from the ocean. My wife and I were actually quite surprised by how good the food was. We usually eat at Mikado in the South Common, and this place was easily as good. The fish was fresh and everything was very flavorful. The portions were more than big enough and everything was very reasonably priced (about $15 cheaper than Mikado!) for two Bento boxes. We especially liked the layout. The high walled sections give the impression that you are in your own private dining area. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We look forward to going back! read more

This is a great little cozy restaurant. It doesn't hold many, but we've been lucky everytime we've gone that we've gotten a seat. It's pretty laid back and intimate and the food is delicious! I normally reserve eating sushi in Cali because the quality is top notch... but it's hard to believe that Leduc has such good sushi - who knew! We never really order any appetizers (so I can't say if it's good), just go straight for the wide selection of sushi... and the sushi is actually really fresh! Some of the most pricey items on the menu were only around $20 --FOOD-- The Sushi Factory really outdone themselves with their Sweet and Savory sauce that came with my dish. The plates were really colourful in flavor, with amazing tempura and terrayaki beef (and lots more!). This restaurant exceeded my expectations by a lot. --AMBIANCE-- The restaurant had some sort of calming theme to it. We were some of the only people there, so I can't give the final verdict on the white noise, or anything that requires a lot of people. --SERVICE-- The waitress treated us very nicely, we had great customer service, and we were greeted nicely. Once again, The Sushi Factory did not disappoint. Out of every sushi restaurant that I've tried, this one is my favorite, by a country mile. Segue into The Sushi Factory being based out of Leduc, Alberta. (country mile... get it? :)) Today, we tried a couple of new items. One was called Monkey Brain. It was a quartered avocado with crabmeat, lightly deep fried in tempura and drizzled with a sweet BBQ sauce. It was out of this world! The other was called the Angry Bride roll. It was a dynamite roll topped with tempura crumbs and cooked baby scallops in a cream sauce. It was also a very unique roll and had excellent flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed it and this is coming from someone who is not much of a scallop fan. We also tried a vegan roll wrapped with soybean paper as opposed to seaweed. If you can get past the light pink color, it was good and easier to chew than seaweed. We also went back to the old faithfuls of spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy California roll in a combo plate. The tempura udon soup is also a favorite of mine, along with the teriyaki beef for the kids and the Sushi Factory's lovely miso soup. The staff is always friendly and courteous and will always cater to the customers' needs. If you are ever craving a high quality Japanese meal, I urge you brave the elements and the drive out to Leduc to visit The Sushi Factory. You won't regret it! read more

Based on Yelp reviews, I decided to give The Sushi Factory a go. Arrived about 6:40 pm to find the place nearly deserted. Upon entering I was greeted by a Hello from somewhere. A sniper greeting, but a greeting anyway. Funny, how that throws one off. I mumbled "hi" to the generally empty dining room. A server then glanced out of a booth area at me and then promptly went back to whatever she was doing. She then reappeared saying "Sit there," waving at the previously referenced empty seating area. All this for obeying the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign. Anyway, after I was directed to a 4 place booth several couples and a group entered. I felt a little conspicuous as others looked at me and coveted the booth. Regardless, I decided more diners arriving was encouraging. The main menu had the typical variety of tempura, sushi and rolls. More interesting werre the robata selections. I was also presented with an appetizer menu and a bento menu. I opted for the sashimi bento as my main but ordered a robata asparagus wrapped in bacon as an appie. I am not certain the server understood me but she got my Sapporo beer quickly enough. Miso soup arrived - excellent. An interesting dish with vermicelli noodle and shrimp arrived - no idea what it was - awesome! Then....bento box? Ok. Suspicion confirmed. Order messed up. Nonetheless, meal looked awesome so I chop sticked up and dug in. Absolutely terrific!! Then my asparagus appie arrived. Again, awesome taste! Bacon and teriyaki - wow! I mildly complained about how an appie should arrive before main. Server was having none of it, obviously confident enough about the food that it didn't matter what order it arrived in. And, like any team player, promptly blamed the chefs. Makes sense, as she stated there were only 3 on shift. Silly me! Well, I finished up completely full. Paid up and was gone in 45 min. Definitely recommend this spot. The best thing I observed was the chef teaching his apprentice the art of roll making. Looked like they were having fun! My husband and I stopped here on Monday night. It was busy and there was one sushi chef. I ordered sashimi--my usual After several minutes, a platter arrived with a specialty roll. Our server explained that the sushi chef was busy and had sent this, as an apology, for the wait. I never felt like I had waited and was not at all frustrated with their service. But, I must say, the sushi rice was minimal and exceptional. It never fell apart like so many do--I loved it. All I can say---after a horrible experience at Joey's Seafood in Hinton (they just don't care) is that their customer service and food made my day. The sashimi was exceptional read more

If you decide to come to this place make sure that you leave yourself plenty of time, their usual average waiting time is about 50 minutes. Additionally, their online source says that they are open all the day but when you arrive they have actually a long lunch break. The staff is not familiar with the menu and can't answer questions about your order. I had to recalculate my bill, because the price didn't match the menu I was given. Unfortunately, the staff was not at all compassionate or understanding or trying to accommodate your wait time. Sushi is ok but not above average quality. Easily the best restaurant in Leduc, sushi or otherwise! Almost everything on the menu is freshly prepared and done right. The service is straight forward, quick and no nonsense, not pretentious. Atmosphere is modern,sleek,and the food presentation is as traditional as you can get in Alberta. The Miso is crazy good, and the deep fried dynamite roll with honey mustard and a BBQ sauce drizzle, is simply to die for. All at affordable prices compared to 'BIG City' places. These chefs know their business and the menu creators are changing things up regularly enough to make it interesting. Hope they stick around a long time! read more

I really should have taken pictures of my food. I didn't think of it until I was mostly done my food. I came here because I was meeting a friend, and we had an appointment 2 doors down. Plus we had talked about going for sushi somewhere anyways, so this worked out. I ordered the veggie tempura, and the spider roll. The veggie tempura came out, and there was a lot of food there!!! Two broccoli, 3-4 squash, 2-3 sweet potato, 2-3 zucchini, and 3-4 asparagus. Like I said, it was a lot. Then out came my spider roll. Soft shell crab at it's finest! I found that the rolls were cut thinly so they fell apart quickly, but I wasn't worried about it. The friend I was with didn't mind that I was a messy eater (at this point in time). She also shared with me her Boston roll. I believe it was spicy crab, avocado, some sort of sauce and salmon on top. Plus tobiko, the little orange eggs. I could be wrong. I couldn't finish the tempura, but it was hot and crispy, and the spider roll was definitely on point. For the amount of food I got, the prices were really good as well. The service was prompt, and they made sure we were well taken care of. The decor inside was clean, with lots of wood. Nothing too extravagant or overwhelming. It's okay at best. Portion is small and somewhat pricy. I am not sure if it's the rice vinegar was bad or the rice are just different. The rice just doesn't taste great. We went around 7 and the service is much slower than expected. If you want great Japanese food, the drive to Edmonton is worth it. Best sushi you can expect in Leduc! Or really... anywhere! A week before I ate here I was fortunate to be in Vancouver and had gone on a 'sushi safari' to a few spots... and so when my wife suggested we go here I was skeptical.. how is it EVER going to compare to the 'right off the boat' sushi I had just gorged on so recently?? Well... it did NOT disappoint! We ordered over $100 in food for the two of us (we covered the large table and had to stack a few dishes!) and started to plow into it. I recall the tempura was terrific, all of the combo rolls were great, and my wife who is a die-hard "california rolls only" kind of gal was enjoying everything too! The only thing I really wasn't amazed by was the tataki... it was good, just not quite 'there' for me. Cannot wait to go back again... writing this review has made me hungry... Oh... one small thing: Bring a large, thick coat even if it's the middle of summer.
