The place is small and a bit dated but clean. I ordered the sausage gravy w/2 biscuits and my husband decided on a panini. The menu is limited so it's easy to decide on something. My gravy was indeed sausage gravy and came with 2 biscuits. Wasn't fabulous but was bad either kinda just somewhere in the middle if that makes sense. My husband said his panini was a little bland and was missing something perhaps some salsa on the side. Probably will comeback and try other menu items.

Our waitress was friendly, took our order and brought our orange juices quickly. I ordered the Western omelette w/hash browns (potato chunks) & toast and my husband opted for the breakfast burrito and coconut cream pie for desert. My husband seemed to have enjoyed his breakfast more than I mine although he didn't like the pie. My toast was buttery and there was no jelly in sight or our waitress to ask. Also, no salt & pepper or condiments on any of the tables like other restaurants. Perhaps because it's a senior citizen complex they aren't allowed to spice things up. Guessing here, perhaps government subsidized (501C3) so they are able to offer price reduced meals. The place was clean, quiet, ample seating and a nice menu selection. However, it's just not my thing to dine in at a "nursing home environment". I'm happy to see Main Street Cafe is available for those who are wanting cheap meals.

Having lived in Miami South Beach, I've had numerous Cuban sandwiches and in my opinion I know what they should taste like. Yes I understand like nachos, cheeseburgers, chili and so on there are various recipes. Getting back to my sandwich there was something off with the flavor. It wasn't horrible but something was off. We will definitely be back to try other menu items. Our lunch came with a small pickle and small handful of regular chips and our bill came to just under $34.00 which seems to be comparable to nearby restaurants. The Food: WOW, absolutely amazing Texas style BBQ. I had the 2 meat plate, brisket and sausage with 2 sides, fries and beans. The portion size was Texas sized and this meal ended up being lunch and dinner. The brisket was Smokey and moist, the sausage had an excellent flavor with a good crisp on the skin. Fries are Fries, kinda hard to mess that up, and the beans were. The staff were friendly and smiling the entire time. They answered all of my questions and actually engaged us while we were there. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the guy behind the counter helped me with my choices. I was looking for either 2 or 4 piece chicken tender meals since there are two of us for dinner. As far as FRIED chicken their only two options (excluding BBQ) are 3 or 5 piece tenders or a bundle of wings w/tots or fries. I opted for the 5 with tots so we both could have at least 2 tenders each. As I waited I noticed the restaurant was pretty clean, the drive thru was busy and looks like they were also getting a catering order ready for delivery. My wait wasn't that long perhaps 5-7 minutes as the chicken is cooked fresh when ordered. None of that precooked crap under a heat lamp here. We really liked our chicken tender dinner w/tots and the assorted dipping sauces on the side. Nice portion size enough for 2 people for sure. No pics to post as I forgot my camera but will definitely post pics on our next BBQ mission. They do have a nice BBQ menu and I'm not sure why their online menu doesn't show chicken tender meals???

It tastes just like my mom's. I also tried their Barbacoa. It is very moist and not dry. The salsa is on point not too spicy not too bland. The tortillas are really some of the best in town. Breakfast starts at 7am and lunch starts at 11am. They also sell sweet sauerkraut that reminded me of my grandmothers sauerkraut. I highly recommend going to this address, but the sausage is available at some local stores.
