3/1/2026 we came here for breakfast after friends & neighbors have mentioned how cheap it is. For me FLAVOR/TASTE trumps PRICE/CHEAP when it comes to eating out. Our waitress was friendly, took our order and brought our orange juices quickly. I ordered the Western omelette w/hash browns (potato chunks) & toast and my husband opted for the breakfast burrito and coconut cream pie for desert. My husband seemed to have enjoyed his breakfast more than I mine although he didn't like the pie. My toast was buttery and there was no jelly in sight or our waitress to ask. Also, no salt & pepper or condiments on any of the tables like other restaurants. Perhaps because it's a senior citizen complex they aren't allowed to spice things up. Guessing here, perhaps government subsidized (501C3) so they are able to offer price reduced meals. The place was clean, quiet, ample seating and a nice menu selection. However, it's just not my thing to dine in at a "nursing home environment". I'm happy to see Main Street Cafe is available for those who are wanting cheap meals. read more

I LOVE this place! Was a bit hesitant to go given that it's in a retirement community. What an absolute pleasant surprise!! Cute little restaurant with really good food, great service and all the company you want to visit with while you're there. Everyone was so personable, it really added to the experience. Parents with young kids/toddlers/babies - how many restaurants have you been to where your children are treated like celebrities? I'm not exaggerating when I tell you, I've never had a more warm and welcoming experience in a place. This cafe is situated in an assisted living home and it is wonderful! Don't let that deter you! We moved to Baptist Retirement Community because of Main Street Cafe. We have been eating here for the past two years almost daily. The food, service and prices are great. We wanted to keep this place a secret but that didn't work. As more and more people hear about - the wait is growing. read more

The reviews we read before we went said to overlook the location and have a nice breakfast, but that was a mistake. Basing this review solely on the food, we both ordered the ham and cheese omelets and both of them were overcooked making them rubbery in texture. We like our hash browns crispy. These were barely browned and soggy. We had to ask for condiments and refills on beverages. If you've ever been to an old folks home, you'll understand how that atmosphere can be less than ideal for a dining experience. read more

This restaurant is WONDERFUL! Don't mind that it is situated in an assisted living facility - it makes it great! Plentiful staff were friendly, service is quick, everything is sparkling clean and the food is delicious! I ordered a western omelet (breakfast all day!) with hash browns. Yummy. Hubby got a cup of the homemade beef vegetable soup and loved it. Kids got burger and chicken salad. All delicious. And I got coconut cream pie to go - their pie selection is huge. Stop by! The food is wonderful and very affordable! This is a hidden gem! Yes it is located in a retirement center, but open to the public. They even serve DeCoty Coffee. The best coffee I have ever drank. Nice big servings. We will definitely be back the next time we are here. read more

Always a tasty meal. Today, I had my favorite; High Rise Reuben Sandwich. Delicious!! The pickles are a nice treat. I had a cup of potato soup with it. This being the first time ordering from this restaurant was pleasantly surprised where it was located. I had ordered over the telephone from the menu on their website. I was advised when the order would be ready and drove to their location. They checked my temperature upon arrival. My wife and I had ordered a "Reuben" sandwich, I with fries and my wife a loaded potato soup, which she stated was delicious and my fries, good "fries". Oh and yes, the "Reuben" sandwich was outstanding! Pastrami, sauerkraut and the thousand island was an excellent combination (pickle spear was even favorable).I have eaten many a "Reuben" sandwich. This was one of the best! And yes, when we got home all items were still warm! Now, I do wish I had taken a photo. Can't take one after it is eaten! Excellent!!!!! read more
