So all these years I've been going to Soulard and to Global Foods and to St. Charles for my…read morespices...and I never ever realized that I had an insanely amazing, friendly, competitive locally-owned coffee, tea, and spice shop located a few blocks away from where I used to work! I'm dumbfounded. I'm even more dumbfounded that no one has ever reviewed this place! Located in downtown Belleville, it's a little further down the street than the other stores, but it is so worth the walk. It is really similar to the spice and coffee store at the Soulard Market...except without the craziness. The staff is super helpful from letting you sniff the coffee beans before committing to a flavor to advising different recipes for different spices. I love it! And the best is that for a small-town shop, the prices are the same as if you were at those previously mentioned places, along with the huge variety! Chauvin is their main supplier of coffee...and there are at least 50 flavors available for your perusal. Most of them are $11.95 a pound, and they can even make 2 oz samplers for you. They will even either leave them as beans or grind them up to your specifications. Similarly, their tea options are just as varied: over 30 flavors and they range from anywhere from 75 cents to $3.00 an oz. They don't have rooibos, as least not what I could see, but they have most everything else. And finally, an incredible wall of herbs and spices, along with their own special spice blends. It's just amazing. Prices are definitely cheaper than your supermarket prices, and they have the same things as other local stores. I've been using the Brazilian Meat rub, and it is phenomenal with a great spicy kick. The Herbes De Provence mix is very fresh and aromatic. I can't wait to break into the fajita seasonings, the Essence, and the special dips I picked up. Their website has a great up-to-date list of what they have in stock, along with prices, if you're wanting to know what they carry before you go in. And why is it an amazing locally owned shop? Well, on Saturdays, they have free coffee tastings and dip tastings. Also, they set you up with a card, and once you hit $50 in receipts, they give you $5 off with your next purchase. Where else would do something like that? Hours are a little weird: Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays are 10-5; Wednesdays and Fridays are 11 to 6.

I shop here remotely as I reside in Arizona. The staff always call to verify my order and are very…read morefriendly and helpful. The spices and herbs are top notch and reasonably prices, I won't buy them anywhere else. Always arrive as expected and there's often a fair sized sample of something else in the package to try. Outstanding experience all the way around!

I really enjoy the food at Clara B's! I found it first when I used Door Dash once and I loved the…read morebrisket breakfast burrito that I ordered. A mix of chunks of lean and marbled brisket. The order was packaged with care and I decided I'd have to eat in person if it was so good via delivery. Clara B's is housed inside of LongStory coffee just outside downtown Belleville. I've been there for coffee a few times and like the atmosphere there. I've now been to have breakfast a few times. If you go there on a weekend, there is a line to order food by 9am and the tables fill up but food comes out in a reasonable timeframe and people clear out as more come in. You pick up a menu and wait in line and order at the register. Not much wait time. Employees are nice. The smaller menu is full of hearty comforts. I love that their choices for breakfast proteins include a fried chicken breast and brisket. Their bacon is thick and delicious, the kind that melts in your mouth. The biscuits are the southern homemade style that are thick and crumbly, not sweet. I've saved one once to make a perfect strawberry shortcake for two. The duck fat gravy is good, a little watery, but it absorbs well into the biscuits. The breakfast potato fries look amazing and one day I'll try the pancakes. I'm low carbing it right now and I like that I can go in and order eggs and a protein and grab an iced coffee and read. I highly recommend for anyone to stop in for a lovely breakfast/brunch and support this local gem.

Tried again but not much better than first visit. I'd rate 3.5 stars overall…read more The cashier was having a difficult time. Wasn't her, the register wouldn't cooperate. Had to repeat our order three times. I requested a side of bacon. Food arrived; no bacon. Looked at my receipt; no bacon. The manager brought bacon to me for no charge which I appreciated.
