Stopped in on our Sunday Harley ride and we were impressed with the cleanliness and prompt service upon initial review! I had the Strongarm CrossFit omelet; it was delicious, however, there were so many veggies that I couldn't eat it all!!! Hubby chose the GM Slam; we shared the huge fluffy pancakes, pork sausage tasted like chicken or turkey. Not true pork sausage! He was given an abundant supply of hash browns. We like our beverages strong, however, the iced tea and coffee were weak. Awesome diner in a cute small town!!

Everything was so good and service was Fanastic!

The food was a 10/10! We ordered several items to share, and everything was great. Our favorites were the cinnamon roll waffle and the chorizo skillet. The server was amazing too. We'll definitely be back!

I am never disappointed with this place. The food is always delicious. The service is attentive but not annoyingly so. The parking lot is spacious so there's always somewhere to park. They have a full coffee bar with amazing cold brew. Their specials are creative- I got the birria omelet. The space is clean and the music is not too loud.

I ordered the paperboy's breakfast which comes with two eggs, hash browns or fried potatoes and your choice of toast. I went with the fried potatoes and wheat toast. My order came out fast which was nice. The first thing I noticed was the larger quantity of eggs than what I usually receive. The eggs were very warm and cooked perfectly. The fried potatoes were cooked evenly on all sides. The bottle of ketchup that I used on the potatoes said it was their house blend and it was good. The wheat toast was cooked just right, not under or over toasted. There was a short wait when I arrived so I decided to sit at the rail along the windows which was comfortable. I had the sweetest server who kept checking on me. This is a simple diner that delivers good food and good service.

Located in a small shipping center at the western end of town, it's easy to find. Just turn in between the Dollar General and Lee's Hardware. There is plenty of parking, with spaces adjacent to the building as well as across a traffic lane. There are several handicapped spaces at the ends of the rows as well as the middle. There are two other restaurants plus businesses in the strip mall, so it can get quite busy at certain times. Walking in, the interior is bright and cheery. The counter for coffee is on the left, with about 15 tables for diners, ranging from counter seats along the window to six person tables. Specials were listed on the far wall. The coffee menu above counter on the left. We were there during the week and they were reasonably busy. Still, we were greeted quickly and our order taken right away. Our food arrived in about 10 minutes. The good morning skillet had a good amount of gravy over the one biscuit, one scrambled egg, and fried potatoes. All items were cooked properly and tasted good. I did add pepper to the gravy, but that is a personal preference. This is a bright and pleasant breakfast place with quick and friendly service as well as a wide-ranging menu. It definitely rates a return visit.

YES! The food here is AWESOME! And when I warmed up the leftovers? Even BETTAH!!! Service was good. It would be fantastic if they could offer breakfast cocktails... I'm a'hopin' and a'prayin! But would come back for just the food. Whoever's in control of the spices back there knows what they're doin'!

The order was packaged with care and I decided I'd have to eat in person if it was so good via delivery. Clara B's is housed inside of LongStory coffee just outside downtown Belleville. I've been there for coffee a few times and like the atmosphere there. I've now been to have breakfast a few times. If you go there on a weekend, there is a line to order food by 9am and the tables fill up but food comes out in a reasonable timeframe and people clear out as more come in. You pick up a menu and wait in line and order at the register. Not much wait time. Employees are nice. The smaller menu is full of hearty comforts. I love that their choices for breakfast proteins include a fried chicken breast and brisket. Their bacon is thick and delicious, the kind that melts in your mouth. The biscuits are the southern homemade style that are thick and crumbly, not sweet. I've saved one once to make a perfect strawberry shortcake for two. The duck fat gravy is good, a little watery, but it absorbs well into the biscuits. The breakfast potato fries look amazing and one day I'll try the pancakes. I'm low carbing it right now and I like that I can go in and order eggs and a protein and grab an iced coffee and read. I highly recommend for anyone to stop in for a lovely breakfast/brunch and support this local gem.

Both feel like elevated, unexpected gems in a small town. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the half chicken portion, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with perfectly crispy, crunchy skin. The service was excellent, and our waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The restrooms were also spotless and well maintained. It is clear that a lot of care goes into every aspect of the guest experience. My only minor criticism is the size of the drink glasses. Once ice is added, there is not much room left for the actual beverage. My parents found themselves needing refills more frequently than they typically would at other restaurants. It was not a major issue, but slightly larger glasses might make things more convenient for both guests and staff. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. Songbird makes great use of its space and should be near the top of your STL brunch list. A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. I took off on a redeye this morning (coffee courtesy of Blueprint), and landed on the Farm Sampler: two scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sourdough toast, sliced avocado and sauteed shiitake mushrooms. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.
