I stumbled upon this gem while my GPS was directing me to the nearby post office. I love tea rooms, and the name caught my eye. While I was in the post office parking lot, I did a quick search and thought, "No way! Why hasn't this place ever shown up when I search for cafes?" I am always looking for cute lunch spots, and it's a shame this place has never come up because it's amazing! I arrived about 1.5 hours before closing, so I didn't order tea; I prefer to sip and read, so I'll save that for a time when I can truly enjoy it. However, I did try the grilled caprese, which was delicious. I also noticed there was a hash brown casserole and got excited. I asked the patient waitress if it contained eggs (I'm not a fan of egg yolks), and she kindly went to check for me. I was delighted to hear that it contained no eggs, so I ordered it. I wish I had gotten a double portion because it was SO good! The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was due to the parking situation. The lot is tiny, and circling around to snag a spot before someone else does is quite stressful. All that said, I wish this place were open on the weekends! I work Monday through Friday and rarely take a day off unless I have several errands that need my attention. However, the next time I do take a day off work, I will definitely fit in lunch here!

My mother and I visited today and had a wonderful lunch! I ordered the pick two with a sandwich and soup and my mom order the special for the day which was a BLT wrap and potato salad. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and even though it was busy we had a great service! We both ordered dessert to go since we were full! I l love that they bring the tray out so you can see their desserts of the day, each one looked better than the last! I would highly recommend for a relaxing lunch during the week. Not a place to go if you are in a hurry.

I have not been to this restaurant in a while. I'm from Illinois and moved to St. Charles about 2 years ago. I drool at their IG posts of their desserts and daily specials. My friend offered to take me to lunch for my birthday. I was a little disappointed today. I ordered the chicken salad on wheat berry toast. I was served bread with a heel. My friend asked if the pasta salad was oil or mayonnaise based. She was told oil based. It was all mayonnaise. I tried to order the lemon raspberry cake on the menu, but was told they ran out, but never erased it from the dessert menu board. I also tried to order two salads from the pick three and was told I couldn't do that that I had to order a soup so I was charged extra. I hope it improves when I get the next chance to stop by. I do love the poppyseed dressing!

The Weeping Willow Tea Room is such a cute spot to grab a light meal, try some delicious teas, and some delicious sweet treats all at the same place! Their sweet treats are some of my favorites out there!

Previously located in Bethalto, Illinois, The Weeping Willow Tea Room no located in Glen Carbon, Illinois is a huge hit! I am addicted to the chicken salad sandwich and literally every single dessert is pure bliss. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, providing a welcoming experience. I feel as if I'm visiting a friend at their house for lunch when I visit!

Their menu is small but well chosen. They have plates and sandwiches with a choice of pulled pork or pulled brisket and ribs are available on the plates. They also have hamburgers and specials such as smoked meatloaf. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The restaurant is small but bright and cheerful. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and brisket sandwich with hush puppies and they also shared with me a sample of their smoked meatloaf. The pulled pork sandwich had a generous amount of meat and was quite tasty. The fries are home style, tasting like they were freshly cut and while they had good flavor, they weren't crispy at all so the wife and I didn't really care for them much. The brisket sandwich also had a generous amount of meat and great flavor though I would have enjoyed it more if it was sliced rather than pulled. The hush puppies may have actually been the star of the show, some of the best I've ever eaten, crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. HOWEVER, they have diced bell peppers in them so you won't like them if you're not a fan of bell peppers. Without the diced pepper, I believe they'd be a hit with EVERYONE. Finally, the meatloaf. It's moist and has great flavor marred only by just a tiny hint of bitterness, the kind you get on your smoker when the smoke is a bit too dark rather than "clean" smoke. It's not enough to prevent me from ordering it again though. Give this new business a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed, As a new business, they're sure to experience growing pains but they have all of the ingredients to be a success. Let's help them succeed!

They're semi-famous…read morelocally for their Sunday all you can eat brunch buffet but I went mid-week for lunch to try one of their sandwiches. They have both an inside and outside dining area, the inside being small and cozy, a little bit of an old school diner atmosphere. I grabbed a seat inside and was promptly greeted with a smile and given a menu by the friendly waitress. They had several options that sounded enticing. I inquired about the bacon they used on their BLT but the waitress wasn't sure except that it was a standard thin cut bacon and she thought it was tasty. Preferring thick cut bacon, I finally decided to go with the reuben sandwich with a side of crinkle potato chips. The sandwich was served to me impressively fast, less than 10 minutes and, to my surprise, the waitress offered me a sample strip of their bacon. It was surprisingly good so I may have to go with a BLT next time. Anyway, the reuben was the star of my lunch, served traditionally on perfectly grilled marbled rye bread. The sandwich was delicious, not a large amount of corned beef but enough to be well balanced with the other components of the sandwich. The corned beef itself was sliced sandwich thin, a bit chewy but otherwise delicious. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The potato chips were standard fare but tasted fresh. The highlights of the visit were the friendly staff, fast service, fairly reasonable prices and the free sample of bacon was icing on the cake. I'll return soon with my wife who is sure to order their BLT. I'll probably give their Philly cheese or french dip a try.

I will say this is an old school diner with everything to match. Luckily the prices matched up with the old school decor. The buffet is set out on the patio and there were plenty of options. From salad, to your favorite breakfast items- eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes. Then there was biscuits and gravy, Mac n cheese mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, pasta, meatballs, brats and some packaged little dessert cakes and muffins. It was a great value for $14.95 and if you have a big family it is an affordable way to eat out and feed the whole family. My server was great, she talked highly of the place and with passion when I mentioned it was my first visit. I had a 2 meat platter, pulled pork & shrimp with mac & cheese & baked beans, wife had wings. The staff was welcoming and patient while explaining the menu to us. Service was just as good as the food, it seemed everyone was in a good mood and that goes straight back to management. The burnt ends were the star of the show, so juicy! My brisket was a tad dry. They also put the sauce in the fridge so it's cold, but there might not be a way to avoid that food-safety wise. Their wings are also really good. The mac-n-cheese side is good. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The only other thing I don't love is there's two rooms, the main room and a room off to the side, and especially if you are in the side room, it feels like you are crammed in there with a ton of other people and sometimes it gets really loud. When it's nice enough, we prefer to sit outside as they have a few picnic benches off to the side that are covered.
