My boss went to grab lunch for everyone. I enjoyed eating the lobster bisque soup ans chicken ceasar wrap. I am unsure what the service is like nor how the ambiance is like, but I do know that this food is delicious and it made me extremely full. Start with a positive... the tea was perfect. We only found two options today, but they were both good. Second, maybe they had an off day because they did not realize it was Mothers Day weekend. 30 minute wait, standing at the door to be seated. Plenty of open tables in view of the front door, but the staff was clearly overwhelmed. Two teas and two sandwiches. 1 hour wait for drinks and food to arrive at the table. 90 minutes total from arrival to service. I admit Tea Houses are not "fast food" as there sign reads... However, 90 minutes total get Tea in a Tea House is way beyond reasonable. All in all it was a nice concept, I don't think we will be back. I see photos of Tea Menus in other reviews. I stumbled upon this gem while my GPS was directing me to the nearby post office. I love tea rooms, and the name caught my eye. While I was in the post office parking lot, I did a quick search and thought, "No way! Why hasn't this place ever shown up when I search for cafes?" I am always looking for cute lunch spots, and it's a shame this place has never come up because it's amazing! I arrived about 1.5 hours before closing, so I didn't order tea; I prefer to sip and read, so I'll save that for a time when I can truly enjoy it. However, I did try the grilled caprese, which was delicious. I also noticed there was a hash brown casserole and got excited. I asked the patient waitress if it contained eggs (I'm not a fan of egg yolks), and she kindly went to check for me. I was delighted to hear that it contained no eggs, so I ordered it. I wish I had gotten a double portion because it was SO good! The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was due to the parking situation. The lot is tiny, and circling around to snag a spot before someone else does is quite stressful. All that said, I wish this place were open on the weekends! I work Monday through Friday and rarely take a day off unless I have several errands that need my attention. However, the next time I do take a day off work, I will definitely fit in lunch here! read more

Two stars because the food is delicious. Service, however, is atrocious. Arrived and tearoom was about 1/3 full. Waited almost 10 minutes before anyone greeted us - no smile, no welcome, no someone will be right with you. After ordering, waited 45 minutes for food (cold sandwiches and salads). Waitress never checked on us or offered drink refills (had to flag down a different waitress to check on our order) and was rude, to boot. Won't be back. read more

My mother and I visited today and had a wonderful lunch! I ordered the pick two with a sandwich and soup and my mom order the special for the day which was a BLT wrap and potato salad. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and even though it was busy we had a great service! We both ordered dessert to go since we were full! I l love that they bring the tray out so you can see their desserts of the day, each one looked better than the last! I would highly recommend for a relaxing lunch during the week. I have not been to this restaurant in a while. I'm from Illinois and moved to St. Charles about 2 years ago. I drool at their IG posts of their desserts and daily specials. My friend offered to take me to lunch for my birthday. I was a little disappointed today. I ordered the chicken salad on wheat berry toast. I was served bread with a heel. My friend asked if the pasta salad was oil or mayonnaise based. She was told oil based. It was all mayonnaise. I tried to order the lemon raspberry cake on the menu, but was told they ran out, but never erased it from the dessert menu board. I also tried to order two salads from the pick three and was told I couldn't do that that I had to order a soup so I was charged extra. I hope it improves when I get the next chance to stop by. What? I cannot believe the other reviews here have not mentioned their amazingly delicious pies. How can anyone go here and not have dessert, is beyond me? I hosted a small gathering of cousins for a Christmas dinner and one of my cousins brought two pies for dessert. She knew my favorite pie is Pecan, so it was one of them and the other was Lemon. She dropped them off at my house the day before Christmas. Having a freshly baked pecan pie in my house was a huge temptation. I had to use all my strength, I wanted a slice so bad. Christmas Day could not get here any faster. I wanted that pie. Once we were done with dinner and our gift exchange, it was dessert time and you know what I wanted. I've enjoyed a lot slices of Pecan Pie in my day and I will say, this is one of the best if not the best I have eaten. Another one of cousins who attended our holiday dinner raved about the Lemon pie. If their pie is this good, I cannot wait to go and experience their lunches. Visited this place today, Mothers Day weekend and regretted it. They were NOT prepared at all for any sort of crowd. Service was terrible, one waitress with longer light colored hair rolled her eyes at us, tossed some boxes around, was so unpleasant that we really should have read her cues and went to another place. We had a party of 7 on Saturday. If you are in need of fast food you probably need a different restaurant but if you can be patient and have the time it's definitely worth the wait. The lady who "greeted me" was rude, it wasn't a hello, how can I help you, it was "are you picking up an order?" I replied with yes, she said what's the name and before I could respond she turned around and took off walking to the other side of the room, expecting me to follow? I and a friend had lunch on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 at The Weeping Willow Tearoom in Glen Carbon Illinois. The waitress was very nice, we placed our order, which was a sandwich for my friend and a whole Tearoom Salad with no feta for myself. When the server brought our order to our table, my salad was incorrect, not at all what I ordered. I didn't see our waitress so I waved a server over and told her of the mistake. She was very nice and took it to the kitchen. Soon another person , Trish, came to our table and told me that I had ordered a WILLOW Salad without feta . I told her I had ordered a Tearoom Salad without feta to which she replied that No I ordered a Willow Salad bc that is what was written on the waitress' order pad. Again I said No . Trish then asked if I knew what the waitress wrote down. I said how would I know? It's not normal to review the waitress' order pad to check for accuracy. Trish then told me that errors in orders are not corrected by the tearoom and she walked off, so I was quite shocked when my correct salad was brought to the table. At no time was I rude or made a scene or argued with anyone!! We were not given any further service other than refilling my friend's water glass. My tea was not refilled, we were only asked if we wanted dessert which normally a display of desserts are brought to your table. What was really shocking was Trish brought our individual bills to us plus a carryout bag for me. I WAS CHARGED FOR THE INCORRECT SALAD AND MY CORRECT SALAD AND IN THE CARRYOUT BAG WAS THE INCORRECT SALAD THAT I HAD RETURNED. Trish returned to collect our payments, I had written a note asking how the tearoom expected the customer to pay for errors on their order when the customer has no control over that responsibility.. I also stated on the note that I thought the waitress was being dishonest bc she even repeated to me that I wanted no feta. The Willow Salad does not contain feta. I graciously paid my bill , Trish took the note and at some point said that we shouldn't return if we don't like the policy., On Wednesday morning I called and asked for Brittany, the manager. Trish had answered the phone, said Brittany was out on maternity leave and asked if she could help me. I identified myself and Trish said " I remember who you are and I will never forget you " she started in saying she wasn't going to argue or discuss anything about yesterday, she explained everything yesterday, to Which I said " no you explained nothing on Tuesday and I didn't call to argue today." I told her that I loved the tearoom and I loved their food but I simply wanted to know how a restaurant can charge the customer for an incorrect order when the customer is not placing their order? Her answer was "if you don't like our policy we have in place then don't come back." And trust me, I won't !!!!! read more

Omg I can't believe I waited so long to try this place! They're only open for lunch, so it's a bit difficult for my schedule, but I finally made it work. I went with the caprese sandwich and the roasted red pepper and gouda soup. They were both amazing! Everyone in my party had something different and they all raved about how good the food was. Even my toddler ate with no complaints and that's saying something. My only regret is that we didn't order dessert! But that's just all the more reason to go back! read more
