She made sure that everyone was there prior to starting (that wanted to be) but still pretty much started and finished on time. Rachel took the time to describe and demonstrate each step of the painting - offering help to those that wanted it. There was plenty of time for each step and I never felt rushed. They take pictures of the event and place on their facebook page the night of. You can easily schedule the event online. You get there a little early so that you can grab a drink/snack at the location you choose. Wear older clothes as the paint can stain. The crowd was 90% women but there were 2 guys there and 1 being my husband (great sport he is) who loved that we were in a pub that had sports on TV. Bring cash to tip if you chose. I would recommend Paint Nite for a fun ladies night out or date night. FYI its okay if you are not artistic at all - because I am not.

If you're brand new to improv or a bit more seasoned, The Focus likely has an offering to meet your needs. They have a new space in the Sibley Building downtown, and are building up to more performances and offerings there in the coming weeks. I am looking forward to getting back sometime in the very near future and can't wait to see the amazing things they cook up.

As soon as the movie starts this lady gets on her phone talking loudly for like 5 mins. Then she gets off and is talking loudly to herself because at this point she's alone. One of the patrons in front of us went and told staff. Staff came and quietly asked her to stop. That made it worse. Then everyone started asking her to stop talking. Again made it worse. The two ladies in front of us got their things to leave so I followed them out assuming this was going down the cops coming lane. I asked the staff to pause the movie and they did. It was paused for probably 30 mins and handled outside of the actual theater we were in. They offered everyone who stayed free passes for another movie and resumed. The staff stayed calm in a stressful situation and were apologetic for something totally out of their control. I just wanted management to know how good their staff handled this situation. Every time we go the food is good and the place is spotless. The seats are the most comfortable out of any theater in the Rochester area. Recommend all day

Various people went to the front and asked why . All came back with different answers. 1 hour later the movie started.IT WAS HORRIBLE. I would rate the movie and the theatre less tan 1 star if I was able. No management, run by teens who couldn't care less.

I always skip the child. This season started last week with Pete the Cat. I'm looking forward to the Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. The theater itself is small-ish, meaning that there is no bad seat in the house. Freyda, who runs TYKES, is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and works hard to secure excellent children's shows. She's also a funny lady and does local comedy with the group EstroFest.

A regular fountain drink (I'm eyeballing 20oz or more?) is $6.48. They have the freestyle soda machine, and the popcorn portions are huge - "small" is a good sized bucket. My one gripe is that there is limited seating before you go into your movie. I was standing around awkwardly holding hot food while waiting for my friends. Otherwise, it was a good experience. The movie seats recline and have cup holders, our theater seemed clean, and the concession folks were friendly.

I saw the most recent production of The Nutcracker with the RCB, and as always, I was blown away by the intricacy of the choreography and the thought that was put into every detail, from the costumes, to the set, to the lighting. This year, I noticed some changes to the choreography that I really loved--they are always striving to improve and find new methods of storytelling! This year, in addition to the performances at Eastman Theatre with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, there were also performances held at Canandaigua Academy. I very much appreciated that because the tickets were at a much lower price point, which allowed me to be able to enjoy the performance, and I'm sure many other people who wouldn't have necessarily been able to attend the pricier performances at Eastman. I'm so glad that Rochester has such a thriving professional dance community, and I can't wait to see where it goes next!
