This movie theatre is very small but well taken care of. They have the new reclining leather seats which are ver confortable. Although they do bot play just released movies because of this the tickets are much cheaper. I recommend checking out their website for special weekly deals. Love coming to movies ten when I'm home with my son. Prices are reasonable! The food leaves something to be desired, but the service and the value of the venue are definitely worth it. This movie theater has definitely seen better days. The reclining seats seem to be hit or miss on working. The floors are usually quite sticky and the theaters are never completely clean. On the positive side, the tickets are so cheap! The popcorn is delicious and the drinks are cold. It really depends on what you are looking for if you would like this theater. Luxury experience? Great people - from concessions on. We're not going to even share our experience at the theater because you'd never believe it. What I do want to share is the security guard and the manager took care of things with us and made it right. These two are going places.. Everyone is raving about those new recliners...and everyone was correct. It's kind of funny that the "discount" movie theater once again has the best seats of any local theater. AMC was the first to come out with the recliners in Rochester... Tinseltown followed. Which was great! Until you sit through an entire movie and get up...and your tailbone feels like it's going to break..ouch! No bueno! Well the recliners Movies 10 has must be state of the art because after the movie I had no pain! They are longer too. Tickets ..still a steal at 3 bucks. Popcorn... delicious. Decor.. still the same from the 90s..some might call it 90s retro funk. In conclusion I went to movies 10 because I hadn't been to Tinseltown in a couple months and missed out on all the good movies I wanted to see. The employees at the location are just trifling, unprofessional, tacky and have no general concept of good and appropriate customer service. I went there to enjoy a movie but was instead greeted by hostile, combative and argumentative employees. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman working at the concessions. He asked to check our bags. He stated there was a policy of no snacks or drinks in bags. After the purse examination, a woman I believed to be a manager with a very sour face, shuffled past and told him to check our bags. VERY happy with both of my recent experiences here. I don't know if they are struggling for business or if people are still weary of going to the movies or if as a last run theater they are never busy, but I've been to both a Sunday matinee (6 dollars) and a week night (4 dollars) screening, and I was practically the only one there (LOVE that for me). I don't really understand the negative reviews. Where else can you watch a movie on the big screen for less than $5? Granted they are older movies, but sometimes it's perfect for those movies that came out 6 months ago but aren't exactly on DVD or streamable yet. They actually renovated their seating a few years ago, so all theaters have Lazy Boy style electric recliner seating. To be honest, I think they are more comfortable than Cinemark Tinseltown's seating. Yes, the concession stands are somewhat understaffed and in need of a renovation, but that's the only small complaint I can find. Overall, I am a huge fan of Movies 10. read more

I love going to movies 10! The movies are cheap, like $3-4 depending on the time you go and $2 on Tuesday's. The theater has the nice reclining chairs so that's always a plus. And they are comfy, this theatre is home to those wide leather power recliners, make the experience soo much better. Why don't we have these things at football and hockey games yet? This is a discount theatre where they place second run movies, meaning you won't catch new releases here but they usually do show up before they make it to pay per view. Great renovation. Movies 10 still has the same charm as when it was first opened by Cinemark many, many years ago. However the new owners have done a great job with bringing it into 2017 with the latest updates. They added reclining seats new carpet and updated screens at the consession. The rest of the interior remains largely untouched. As always, slightly older movies are offered at a discounted price. This is a great place for anyone to visit. Took my 2 year old to see paw patrol, we got popcorn French fries and a lemonade, It was really a pleasant experience for us, my daughter is a French fry addict already and she had a big grin when they came to the counter. As for paw patrol..... she sat in her recliner and watched the 60 mins that was left (we got in late) the popcorn was surprisingly addictive for me so watch out for that! I recently went to Movies 10 to see Thor. The so called manager Shawn, short changed me by $3.00. I immediately showed him and he gave me way more than $3.00 back for some reason. I told him it was only $3.00. I do believe because my hair is white, he does this often. Be careful! Count your change as I believe they do this on purpose! Another issue, I wanted to speak with his boss but he wouldn't give me a phone number. When I called them, I believe he answered, and wouldn't give me his name, said he wasn't Shawn (yet, it certainly sounded like him), and wouldn't give me his bosses phone number. After coming here, I never want to pay full-price to see a movie again! We paid $6 for the two of us, and spent more on popcorn ($6.99 for a medium - but if you want to splurge and you can get someone to run back out during the movie, the larger size gets free refills!) than the movie itself. This theater shows films that are a little older, not in the mainstream theater anymore (we saw a movie in October that had released in June), but typically before the movie's on DVD. They remodeled this year, and added soft seats that recline! Not as big as the ones at AMC, but definitely an upgrade! My recommendation? I got to spend $3 to watch a film in a recliner, what could beat that? It is slightly different that before, and needs a bit of a face lift in other areas, but the inside of the theaters are lovely. The concessions are a tidge expensive, but aren't they all? That is where they get their profits. They have a sign that warns large purses and bags for snack smugglers are prohibited. I don't think that is strictly enforced. Tuesday is $2 bargain day, and the price goes to $4 after 6pm. $3 for a matinee. Went with my husband and son in theater 8 (during the winter). It was freezing in the theater. My husband talked to the manager who said the heat had been broken for a while (not sure why they were using it??). After asking for a refund, we were given vouchers to be used before the end of the month. Came back, this time to theater 7. Again, no heat.... It's Rochester, NY--in the winter. This is my second favorite movie theater. You cannot beat the prices, environment, or how quickly some movies get to their theater. Tickets are usually $3 but on Tuesday they're $2. Went on a Saturday night, tickets were $4.00 each. However you had to purchase them at the concession stand. Food prices weren't that bad. They have a variety of different food now besides your basic Popcorn and Nachos. There is Chicken Fingers, Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, Pizza Logs, and a few other things. The floor was extremely sticky and needed a good cleaning. And they have actually upgraded the seating to reclining seats now. Theaters are not that big, so if you want a good seat get there early. Reopening this establishment was an excellent thing! The tickets price remains the historic value and the upgrades are exceptional. This business owner has rebirth Rochester's gem for movie entertainment and done so by eliminating unnecessary staffing, simplified concessions, exchanged the arcade for party opportunities and added vending options. The best upgrade are the electric, lounge style seating that provide optimum viewing with more space. Other similar movie theaters offer such upgrades but cannot match the value. When it seems like every other theater is jacking up prices, this one is very reasonable! Has reclining seats that seem like they're made by the same company as many of the other larger theaters. And, there are so many seats (the most reclining seats I've ever seen...), you rarely will be sitting next to others - something that's typically not true of most other reclining seat theaters. I've gone here since I was a little girl so no complaints here. After they shut down and reopened they had new amazing recling seats! Their staff is super nice and their prices are amazing. Our experience at Movies 10 could have been better, but the customer service was CRAZY SLOW, we waited about 20-30 minutes to get snacks, tickets, and CC devices. The person taking care of us took about 20 minutes to get the butter on the popcorn, get our ICEE, and went all the way to the back for more candy. She was literally pacing back and forth behind the desk for whatever reason? She made us buy extra tickets even though we had already bought tickets, and she was aware we already had tickets. She asked us to come after the movie to get a refund, instead she came in the theatre DURING the movie to get our card and receipt to process the refund. I felt it was a bit rude to interrupt us during the movie since she did ask us to swing by after the movie. However, 4 of us are all deaf and requested to use the Closed Captioning devices for the Oppenheimer movie. Two of the devices were not working properly, so we had to run back and forth to the front desk to swap devices or fix them before the movie. We missed the beginning of the movie because of the hassle. Movies 10 only had 4 CC devices for the 4 of us, and my partner and I had to share one which was a pain bonking our heads trying to see the CC on the tiny screen since the 4th device was not working. I highly suggest Movies 10 to please get more WORKING devices that would be enough for a larger group of deaf customers. read more
