The threading is good and the price is $15. I would not really recommend getting your eyebrows tinted here. My girlfriend did and wow... what a mistake. It was sooooo thick and dark. She told me to drive home quick. Fortunately I was able to scrub off the dye before it really set in. read more

I was there Oct.10 around 11:30. The Techs English was so very bad it was impossible to communicate with her. She did a horrible job on a simple clean up. Don't get your eyebrows done here!! I will NEVER go back. My eyebrows have always been full and easy to shape. One of the girls was chit chatting away to another customer who was up next. I was wondering if she even was focusing on my eyebrows. Sure enough one eyebrow is thinner and curved while the other one is thicker and pointy. She didn't even trim them and rushed me out to get the other client in. A 12 year old even noticed the difference. I never complain and actually give good ratings when pleased. I had to do this for every other person considering getting their eyebrows done here. Don't do it!!! read more

PSA: they raised the cost of eye brow threading (just brows!) by $3 to $15. This is too expensive. I used to go with $15 and leave $3 tip. Last time I went I couldn't tip because I didn't realize they raised the cost. The service takes 3-5 minutes and uses one thread... why $15? Other places are cheaper now. I am really happy a friend brought me to this threading salon! I went in to get my brows done and it was a great experience! The woman helping me listened to what I wanted, and she was quick and they turned out great! They are more affordable then other spots in Boston, and they have an online rewards system which is better than the punch card because I lose those all the time. Okay so I never usually post reviews but this was necessary. I've been to this place twice now and the same girl working (don't know her name) was extremely rude and has major attitude. The first time I came in I thought she was maybe having a bad day... But that was not it at all. I went in there the second time and she was a complete jerk to me. When I walked in the second time she stared at me up and down as if she had a problem with me. She barely said a word to me and acted like she was passively aggressively pissed for whatever reason. She was also very rough and not gentle at all when doing my brows. She would pull my skin very roughly with the thread. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded hundreds of times by now and have never experience someone so on me harsh while threading. My eyebrows came out nicely both times, however, the customer service here is seriously lacking. Hire someone who can put a smile on their face and be nice to customers. A for brows. Only waited about 10 minutes, Anju took about 5-7 minutes to whip my untidied brows into shape, and it was only $10 before tip with the yelp deal. I was in dire need of getting my eyebrows waxed, but knowing that a good place in Boston is hard to find, I decided to go with threading. This place has really good reviews so I figured I had to try it. The place was very clean and with a modern ambiance. The threadist was personable and did try to give me what I asked for (my eyebrows and I don't get along). However the low rating is because she CUT A CHUNK OF SKIN OFF! Ok, it was a small chunk, but it's quite noticeable to me and it's only a matter of time before it scabs and potentially leaves a scar. Also, my eyebrows are burning, which doesn't feel at at all like a normal sensation after getting threading. She did profusely apologize, but offered NO discount at all. Thank goodness there was a check-in discount. I should have complained more, but I just wanted to get out so that I could examine my battle wound. It was a total accident, I know. However, I do think that it could have been handled much better. I guess I will stick to waxing... UPDATE: it's been 24 hrs and I have scabs across both eyebrows :( read more

I really love this place! I've been going to this location, as well as the Downtown Crossing one to get my eyebrows done for probably over two years now (I'm reviewing this location because I go there more often). There's a simple sign-in & loyalty system (every 10 threading you get a free one, which is awesome) and the whole process is very streamlined. Price-wise it's only marginally cheaper than most other places I've been to, but the loyalty and the actual results make price irrelevant in my book. I have thick, naturally arched eyebrows so it was challenging to find places that didn't try to thin them out or either exaggerate / remove my natural arch in a weird way. I've NEVER had a bad shaping experience at Threading Place and they follow the shape of my brow to a T! Some other people have mentioned unfriendliness or clinical behavior; I've experienced a spectrum of this (some staff is friendlier, others professionally distant) but...honestly, I'm just here to get fly eyebrows, not make a friend, so I was never bothered. I've never been treated with anything remotely close to disrespect, or witnessed another being treated like that, although obviously I can't speak on what those other reviewers experienced. I'll probably keep coming here as long as I live in Boston; strongly recommend. read more

Threading places are hard to come by in Boston (for some weird reason! ). The threading place does the job (barely) and it is nothing special. The Newbury location is definitely on the more expensive side but its convenient location is the reason I use it if I do not have the time to make it to Boston Threading. I like that they use a tablet to get people to sign in and form a queue (but it has glitched a few times). The threaders I have gotten are not particularly friendly and are quiet; I prefer to have a bit of chit chat, but these ones have been super quiet! TIP: Make sure to check whatever you get threaded in the mirror before you leave because I have had many times when the threader misses a few hairs or have cut my skin in the process... make sure you get your money's worth!! read more

Went there today for the first time and I was pretty impressed. The wait time was about 5 minutes. I asked her to just remove the extras and do my upper lip. She was pretty quick and skilled. I was out in less than 15 minutes. If you are looking for a fast, easy and neat eyebrow threading - then this is your place. I would go back definitely! read more

Location is A+ for me...quick walk from my apartment. They do a good job threading and trimming, and respect my thick brows. So my gripe tonight is that the threader was overtly aggressive while threading me. I walked away with red, irritated skin that was even bleeding in one spot! It hurt a lot and she used a lot of force to thread me. I have been getting threaded for 10+ years and I have never once thought threading was painful (in fact I usually think it feels good and fall asleep!). Tonight was different. I"m very particular about getting my eyebrows threaded considering I have been going to the same woman for 11 years where I'm from in Maryland. But I'm in Boston for school and had to find someone here as well. My eyebrows grow a bit unevenly and i have had them really mess up before when i got then threaded at places i was unfamiliar with. So even though sitting in the chair was nerve wracking I was very happy with the results. I ask just for a clean up and no drastic shaping and the woman did a great job! Super fast service: I had a brow and upper lip threading and was out the door in under 15 minutes. I didn't catch the lady's name but she did pretty good work. If you have brow hairs that are similar to mine, which are super long but super sparse, then it's really hard to do anything to them without making them look too thin and weird. I don't know how but she gave me a shape that actually gave my brow hair a fuller appearance! My only complaint was that after threading, the lady forgot to gave me aloe so my face burned for a while. read more

Gets the job done, expect no more. Its a decent threading place as long as you don't rely on the threading person to use their own judgment. I find lack of consistency in their staff's work. As much as I hate to use my valuable, limited time here to do something like get my eyebrows done, a $10 threading is worth it. It costs $25 in Honolulu. First of all, check in on Yelp to receive the $10 deal (normal price is $15). I called a couple of hours early to see if they have appointments available, and she said to come on in. She didn't even ask for my name. I guess business is pretty slow. I told her I just wanted my eyebrows cleaned up; I don't want them any thinner or shaped any differently. She did exactly this. I thought she did a pretty good job. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years in San Diego and now Honolulu, and I thought she did just as good of a job. They have long hours, including Sundays, Yelp deals (currently), and a good location. I had both my eyebrows and upper lip done. I've only ever gotten my eyebrows threaded (as opposed to being someone who converted from waxing). My threader's technique was pretty painful/uncomfortable. I usually experience minimal discomfort, especially with my eyebrows, but it actually hurt. I also know how to thread, and she used the string in a particular way that she was unable to really wrap up the hair and pull it out in a quick plucking motion. She would get stuck and then tug, which kept the hairs from coming out in one fell swoop, and instead, she was getting them out individually. That's makes it a lot more painful. Her technique with the upper lip was significantly better. The reason I'm wiring a review (the extra discomfort is irritating, but not a huge deal) is that I am particular about the final result (eyebrows are important!) and my eyebrows are not symmetrical, unfortunately. Many threaders will often do each eyebrow individually without taking a look at both eyebrows to make sure they are actually symmetrical. That's important. The woman who did my eyebrows did the same thing. Each eyebrow does look nice individually, however, and other women might not mind the quirkiness that comes with having irregular eyebrows. It wasn't the world's worst experience, but I won't be returning. read more

i came here a couple months ago and everytime i walk by this place it makes me so mad! the workers here are so disrespectful and will yell back at you and are so impatient. i showed them a picture of my previous brows before i let them grow out and the lady made my brows into this UGLY thick shape when i specifically showed her and described that i wanted them thinner and with abit of an arch. she started yelling back and got impatient to fix my brows that i just left without giving any tips. my brows were SO ugly from them couple months ago that even to this day i would NEVER recommend going here to anyone! This is my first time I am getting threading rather than waxing so it was an interesting feeling for me. I came with my roommate who had been here once already, recommending the girl and that there was a yelp deal [20% off] There was no wait and so we started swiftly. One or two seconds in I laughed and made mention that this was my first threading. Only then did she mention some hurt. All good. I asked for a clean up. It went alright, however all said and done she had shaped it quite thinly. It looked fine, just I didn't realize that a cleanup would take out so much hair, also inside left starts further out than desired. Alright, we will need to wait for a while for it to grow back again. All in all fine, just strange in experience. The girl said practically nothing the entire time i was there. Interestingly, there is a video that plays to showcase some of her skills when you are waiting in the waiting room. It seems this particular practice enjoys very thin eyebrows in general. read more
