This place is the worst--definitely not worth the money. They have an absurd policy that if a bumper falls over, they can't reset it. So if your kids are only 10 minutes into a two-hour session, they're out of luck. On top of that, I have no idea why they make you rent bowling shoes when the lanes are so sticky that you're practically falling over every time you throw a ball. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. No wonder it was completely empty on a Friday night. Save your time and money and go somewhere else! read more

Thunderbowl is a family oriented business that doesn't tolerate any behavior not becoming of family type behavior. If you go there with the intention of being disruptive or having a screaming match with the employees you should go elsewhere. The employees are congenial and helpful. If you go there with the intention of making demands and having shouting matches you will definitely be told to leave. It doesn't matter what you skin color is. If you have decided to not go there because of Facebook posts you never intended to go there anyway. Go visit Thunderbowl and find out yourself just how friendly it is. read more

The customer service is absolute bottom of the barrel, the food is horrible, but what do you expect from a bowling alley. They charge you per 2 hrs and not per game and dont even let you play a whole two hours. The place smells and the lanes are run down. This is a nice bowling alley. Older scoring system probably from the 90s which I think is Neat. don't really like that you can't pay by the game. There should always be an option per game, but with such a small amount of lanes, I'm guessing this was a business decision. We had a Birthday party here today for our 5 and 6 year olds. I paid $150 for 2 lanes, shoes, 2 large pizzas and drinks for 12 kids. When we arrived they had the table set up, a paper to choose our pizza and our 12 cups out. All staff was polite and helpful. We ordered 2 extra pizzas and we got them all out together and they were fantastic. We did have a mishap and dropped two cups full of pop and they helped clean up and were friendly about it. We would book here again! We had kids 3-7 and bumpers were not an issue! read more

They kicked 13 people out because we brought a drink in from Starbucks and the worker who told us to leave had us pay before telling us about the drink when they clearly saw it. The worker also had their own food from another place when they came to tell us not to bring stuff in. read more

Wow...just experienced some extremely hurtful situation.. my classmates and I were celebrating our class reunion, some of us bowled but most were sitting up at the tables talking, some bought drinks etc. Three of us ladies were asked to move to allow people that were bowling in that lane below to have the table for some of their other guest, we moved but then the guy spoke to the bowlers and said "I told them to move so you all can have this table". The way it was said and for what reason really did not make sense, all was very offensive and very tacky...long story short the police were called, anger, words, and hatred was rampant. I was in total awe...wake up people the devil loves when we HATE each other, fighting evil with evil never is a good thing...NEVER. read more

If you're looking for a fun night out, find somewhere else to bowl. First off, the price here is RIDICULOUS you can't pay by the game and it costed $15 per person for two hours. Secondly, do NOT come here if you're high risk for coronavirus, there is zero social distancing in place. As soon as you get to the place they shove the racially-charged dress code in your face (which is strictly enforced) From the looks of other reviews the dress code isn't the only thing that's racist. The UI on the machines is archaic and the music is bad and very loud. Go literally anywhere else. read more

Nice alley but the management there is horrible as well as the people who operate the services. I recently took some H S kids honor students to for some bowling. Kids were watched like criminals. These are good kids, not trouble makers. Most all belonged to the NJROTC group. This place micromanages things right down to the clothing worn in the establishment. The prices are high for bowling and for any food. The kids did their bowling and the first thing they ask is there any other bowling alley we can try next time? None like the way they were treated. They all said the staff was watching every move. I have heard this before and I have bowled there myself and I must say they were right. Friendly they are not. I would rather take the kids to Huber Hts than to Thunderbowl. I would not recommend this bowling alley. read more

We came here to have some good family fun. My children are 5, 3 and 10. We also has a family with a 3 and 8 year old bowling with us. After paying $14/child to bowl they refused to put the bumper back up for us after it had fallen down 2 other times. It became gutter after gutter ball and needless to say we lost interest and lost out on the money spent. The worker was rude and unapologetic. I will never come back to THUNDERBOWL in Englewood. And if you have small children who aren't professional bowlers, you should avoid this bowling alley as well. read more

RACIST!! Guy overcharged me to play pool, I know this for a fact! Then told me the kitchen was closed, it was 930 and they don't close until 12! Right after that I caught the guy making a pizza! He put us on the very last lane in the back when there was only one other lane being used, and they have 16 lanes! I will never EVER go to this place again! read more

A little smaller than average bowling alleys and plays lots of country music, which I'm not a huge fan of. Overall, it is a great family-friendly place with lots of fun memories just waiting to be made. Prices are fair and service is amazing! read more

Fantastic bowling center. Always clean, efficient, and enjoyable. I've enjoyed my visits to the center, and interactions with it's management, and employees. I always valued that they took a "family first" approach with their dress code, and code of conduct. Too many places sacrifice their reputation for the all-mighty dollar. Thunderbowl never did. Although, I have heard that recently the centers owner is pitching his own people under the bus, and bowing to the dollar and sacrificing quality. If that's true, that is truly a shame. Being from Chicago I have seen many centers do this, and go straight down the tubes. Hopefully this isn't the case, it'd be a shame to see a great place fall. read more

On Friday March 3rd I took a group of 7 to these lanes and we were treated rather rudely. First off we were told we could not reserve a lane unless we paid upfront for everyone who would be bowling. So we had to wait for others to show up even though most of the party was there. This delayed us getting a lane by 45 minutes. Secondly we asked that if we wanted to keep bowling beyond our 2 hour paid for time, if that was possible. We were told that would not be a problem. Yet right at the 2 hour mark our lanes were turned off and another group was moving onto them. When they were asked why this happened their reply was, that they never said we coilfnpay to stay on the lane. Lastly we were told when we asked about booking a birthday party at their lanes for 15 people for 7pm the next night we were told they could not make reservations after 6pm? What company turns away paying customers? We even told them that we would pay that night for the party the next day. read more

Friendly Staff. One of the cleanest Bowling Centers I've ever been too. Will be going back again and again.

My experience here was absolutely awful! The second you walk in, the odor is unbearable. It smells like straight up cat piss. The approaches on the lanes were not only tacky but they were also falling apart. I was with a group of people when I went to thunderbowl and we were having a good time, drinking a couple of drinks and the manager yelled at us for being "too annoying" and he said something about armchair bowling? IDK either. The wait staff is very rude. Not once did they come ask us if we needed anything but they also gave us attitude and swore at us when we would come up to them. I would never recommend this bowling center to anyone! And please do your self a favor and if you are planning on going there with your kids....DON'T! You do not want them to see half of the stuff we've seen there. read more

I like this place and have bowled here before when we as a family have been in Dayton. Last night, 7-15-2016, we were on our way out of town and stopped to bowl a game. We didn't know that per game pricing was not available after a certain time. The bowling center had 5 of the 16 lanes in use, so I figured our $11 dollars of revenue would have been wanted but the young man at the front desk was adamant that his boss wouldn't allow him to sell me anything but the $13 dollars per person, 2-hour package. We didn't have the time to bowl for two hours and it would have been a waste of money to purchase that offer. Had you allowed us to bowl, you would have had $11 additional dollars and your lane free in about a half-hour...we're prompt, considerate bowlers and would have been in and out in no time. Instead, we left shaking our heads. With the state of bowling these days nationwide, I don't understand turning away business from bowlers that want to patronize your establishment. Heck, we even support your dress code and have told others about it. I'm sorry you turned us away. I can't fathom why you expect single game bowlers, from out of town, like us to pay for something we didn't want. I will say that your female bartender and the young man at the desk were pleasant. I didn't feel like we were being lumped into the "riff-raff" comment that was made by the desk person. Although, it did leave me wondering...does your definition of "riff-raff" also come with a color chart? Just wondering. Finally, bowling consumer, if you can abide by this center's rules, regulations and pricing scheme, you'll enjoy bowling there I think...I wished we would have been given the opportunity to bowl our one game and leave. Only giving this 1 star because I have to. They advertise themselves as a family friendly place. NO. Not friendly whatsoever. My kids (7&3 years old) wanted the bumpers. They are not professional bowlers, so obviously their ball hit the bumper. One side fell. I went to tell the guy at the counter and he said, rudely, "give me a minute. I'll put it up but if it happens again it's staying down." This was just in our first game! The bumper fell down again and I had to tell my kids that he wasn't going to put it back up. My husband and I would help our 3 year old bowl, and we got yelled at for using the 6 lb ball... that they gave us. This place is a joke. We will never be going back there again. Would love to see this guy fired or this place run by new management. Or just shut down all together. You can not advertise yourselves as family friendly while having the worst customer service. read more
