Went by today to look around and get some pricing for a few projects I have coming up. Selection is good but service is NON EXISTENT! If you're going to pay a premium price, the service needs to be equivalent. Walked around for almost 20 mins looking and taking pics of product I might be needing. Walked past 5 employees and never any acknowledgment. 3 were in the back just chit chatting and the other 2 at desks working on a computer. Left with out any information or acknowledgment. Apparently their business is doing well enough they do not feel the need to help customers coming in? Oh well, I tried. read more

I love this tile store. As an interior designer I see a lot of tile, I visit a lot of tile stores and there is no other store like it in the area. They offer unique selections that aren't offered anywhere else. Yes the prices on their natural stones are higher but they are also more unique in color and shape in most cases. Dwayne, the store manager, is excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable of the materials, the colors, and availability. He has an eye for design and helps you to think outside the box. The store itself is gorgeous. The over 75 vignettes around the perimeter of the store are beautiful and help clients/homeowners to imagine what the times would look like in their homes. I'm a general contractor and do tile work all around town. From time to time I have a customer who wants a very specific tile and they come across something they like at The Tile Shop. That was the case recently. I went to put the order in for the customer and talked to Matt, the store manager, about how I might expedite the process to get the tile in a little earlier. He said I'd be able to pay $125 to have it in by Wednesday afternoon rather than Friday. I made sure to ask that they have a system in place to call me as soon as the shipment arrived. He assured me they would call as soon as it was received in their store! Great. Wednesday came and no one called. Thursday morning came and still no one called. I finally called later Thursday morning and was told, "yeah we have that here feel free to come pick it up". What?! All that to say they charged me extra to have early delivery and because of the schedule of my project I wasn't able to pick it up until Friday, the original day they would have had it delivered. Do yourself a favor and do what professionals around town do, go to Floor and Decor and get better product, selection, and customer service for a FRACTION OF THE PRICE! From their amazing customer service to their expertise and time they have given me in helping resolve an unfortunate experience we have had with the installation of our tiles, they are A+. From the moment we walked into their beautifully laid-out store, our shopping experience has been nothing but positive. Dustin, was amazing and right on target in helping us pick out our beautiful tiles. And then when we ran out of tiles, Jean, was invaluable in finding them right away. And Richie has also been so understanding in regards to the failed attempt by our inexperienced installers and helping us figure out what to do. I can't say enough good things about The Tile Shop and their expertise and customer service. I recommend them highly to anybody and everybody who needs tile work. Great service at this store. I'm disabled and they have made every effort to accommodate my needs with regard to delivery of tile and tile supplies to my home. The tile selection is good. Looks great, but be careful for a few overpriced items that can be purchased locally at other shops for much less. Still, if you do your research, this is a great place to find bargains on tile and great customer service. Winning! read more

Very good experience here, and a wide selection of options. Our sales guy was Mike was extremely patient and worked hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We are from Houston getting renovations done of the house. We had a very hard time finding a tile store in Houston that had styles that we really liked. The tile shop had exactly what we were looking for. The only downside was that the delivery was a little late. Fortunately, Mike gave us a courtesy call around the time the tile was supposed to be delivered (really appreciated that). When he heard that the delivery was late he immediately checked on it and remedied the situation. Great customer service. The tile shop will be the first stop for our second stage of renovations. I just hope they open a Houston location soon. read more

I have very mixed feelings about the tile shop... hence the 2 star review When you first walk in, the store is gorgeous! Everything is nicely laid out and arranged in a way that makes it easy to shop, especially if you have been to other tile stores that are cluttered and small. The display bathrooms and kitchens around the exterior of the store are helpful for seeing what something looks like on a bigger scale and what pieces look nice together. We were very impressed. We came here to shop for tile for our bathroom and kitchen. Once we settled on a tile for the bathroom floors, we inquired about their white subway tile, which was more than 3 times the price of lowes and home depot. "Oh but ours is better quality, it's much thicker, it's made in the U.S."... OK, you sold us. We'll take it. We managed to get them to come down on the price quite significantly to make up for some of the difference in cost. They only place orders on Wed. nights and the orders come in on Fridays, just FYI. When ours came in, we picked it all up and brought it home, only to unload it and discover that it was not made in the U.S., every single piece of it was made in China and it was not thicker than those from Lowe's and Home Depot, it was exactly the same! For that price, there was no way we were paying that much more for an inferior product. We chose to return the subway tile (but kept the floor tile). When we went back in the sales staff was clearly unhappy about our return (I assume they work on commission) but obliged anyways. Then they said the "computer was broken" and they would run it through in 3 days. By this, they really meant to say "it's the last day of the month and we don't want to make the return and take the hit on our monthly numbers, so we will be sketchy and make your return on tuesday, but we fully expect you to leave the product here and just trust that it is going to happen later." I've worked retail, I know it sucks to take a return, even on the last day of the month, but this is was a shady and unacceptable business practice. Meanwhile, the people standing next to us seemed to have no problem paying with their credit card on this magically "broken" computer. However, the return did show up on our credit card in the next day or two and all was well. We were just incredibly displeased with their lies and quality claims, the outrageous prices, and the sketchy return thing. On the other hand, we really do love our floor tile. It's beautiful and just what I wanted. While it was outrageously priced, like i said we were able to talk them down a bit. A few of the tiles had problems with spacing and discoloration, but that is usually to be expected. I recommend going here to shop around and get an idea of what you want, but compare prices to other places and don't be fooled by their flashy claims. Shop around, and if they are the only store that has it, go there with the knowledge that the prices are negotiable. read more

Don't go. Save your money and go to Floor and Decor for a quarter of the price. I'm redecorating 2 of my homes and came in here to see other options. Something that's $6.49 a square foot here in $2.79 at Floor and Decor. But the reason the a 1 star is the employees. Very short and. On friendly. I ended up purchasing a sealant and asked questions about how to apply it. The employees remark was "just read the directions on the back. Everything is explained there". Really? I could tell that I caught him in the middle of eating lunch so I guess that was more important. read more

This store is GREAT! The selection is up to date and this store strives to offer great products and exceptional service. Addison, Dewayne and Ivan as well as the other staff are fantastic too. Everyone is super courteous and helpful. The first time I walked into the store I explained my ideas to Addison. He took me right to several different options that I immediately loved! He was super knowledgeable and knew the store well. He had great design ideas himself that made my tile project even more beautiful! I highly recommend the Tile Shop at Gateway Shopping Center.
