It started out good as I was shopping around. Kai the salesperson was lovely and helpful, he came right away to measure and things were going well until Mazz the owner came into the picture. Super abrasive and condescending to his crew and employee K. Argued with my design choices, did not listen to me at all and seemed annoyed with my questions about product. Also, took a call in front of my husband and me and kept on speaker. Talk about awkward. It was business related but lots of cussing and yelling between the two. The kicker was they quoted me 5000.00 more than the amazing flooring company we ended up going with and they were going to go right over the existing floor. So less work, more money, when I called to inquire about the process because I researched and got other bids, K was explaining and answering my questions well, 1/2 way through the conversation owner took phone and was aggressively talking to me. I said, "wait did you guys just switch?" He replied, "I can explain better" wow. So disrespectful. If you are ok with going over existing floors and dealing with this behavior, have at it, but I definitely can recommend a much better choice. The company I chose was pleasant to work with, cost effective, and flawless from beginning to end. Doing it the right way, by pulling up the floors is the way to go. We recently had an unplanned renovation and I first went to the box stores but felt so overwhelmed. I knew this was going to be a big investment and one that we were not going to do often so I wanted to make the right choice. I was so pleasantly surprised at the service and explanation I received at Fantastic Flooring. They took the time to explain the difference between LVP and Laminate flooring to help us with our decision. When it came down to making the final decision, I was going to go with "good enough" but I was so blessed to have met Ashley. I was going to pick something in our price range and let go of the color I really wanted, but Ashley was so nice and friendly. Inspect materials before demolition takes place! Fantastic Floors took out our carpet, went to get materials, and had us inspected the flooring. But there was a problem: the manufacturer (SLCC) sent the wrong flooring. So, we had to live with bare plywood, nails, and staples for 3 1/2 weeks. This delay made the whole project take about 4 1/2 weeks to finish. The installation crew unexpectedly arrived on August 19th at 8:13 am. They continued to work without notice, and the office didn't inform us. Communication became impossible after Martin, the English-proficient member, left as the rest of the crew couldn't speak English. On August 23rd, Martin returned to work on the stairs. He told us that the rest of the crew didn't want to work that day. He had to fix the nose pieces the previous worker had installed as they weren't properly secured. The absent worker had used minimal nails and glue. Martin added more nails to secure it properly This was far from the quality we were promised; Ashley had referred to them as her "Varsity Team." The day after completion, Ashley texted me, saying, "Jesus told me everything looks great." However, we've never met Jesus. Mazz offered $200 compensation for the surprise crew visit and suggested touch-up work, but we turned down both offers. read more

All in all, our experience with Fantastic Floors was a good one. Our first impression was a great one! Mazz could not have been nicer or more genuine. As soon as we met him, we know he was who we wanted to go with. He even let us borrow a sample on good faith that we would return it the next day. The value was there, and the men who installed our new carpet went above and beyond. Our expectations were totally exceeded here, and that's the most important thing. They did an amazing job for an affordable price. Communication and organization were pretty wonky, but I think that is due to the fact that Mazz was out for a couple weeks and this is a super popular place (and the world is a mess right now, and we are all redoing our homes). My husband and I are very happy with our new floors. It's been a few months now since we had Fantastic Floors replace carpet & tile in our house with luxury vinyl plank (LVP). We went with LVP because of the low maintenance compared to other flooring options. And, we enjoyed the look and feel of LVP. Customer service - Mazz & Ashley played a great part in helping us decide on our new floors. It took us a couple months to decide, and they remained patient with us to ensure we were happy with our decision. They weren't pushy, which I appreciated because I don't want to feel rushed into something that I would have to live with everyday. I felt comfortable working with them. Pricing - I thought the pricing was fair. Mazz was mindful of our budget. He went through the cost of the project with us before we signed a contract. Again, we've been living with our new floors for a few months now and we're enjoying it. We've received many compliments. The only "con" I could think of would be from the white risers we got for our stairs. They were left dirty after the work was completed. If you're looking for flooring, there are a ton of options out there. I know because I think I looked at them all! From my experience, here are some reasons to choose Fantastic Floors. 1. You want a great price. As I searched through several shops in Cedar Park, Georgetown, and north Austin, trying to find the perfect vinyl plank flooring, I found Fantastic Floors to have very competitive pricing on all the flooring I was interested in. 2. You want someone to take their time with you. Ashley and Mazz were amazing to work with because they gave me tons of options. I went in with a specific look in mind, and I hadn't found it ANYWHERE else. Seriously, warm, light colored vinyl shouldn't be such a unicorn. Ashley happily helped me search the store several times over a period of 2 months, pulled out options for me, talked with me about my vision for the space on multiple occasions, let me take samples from the store to view at my house, and never seemed bothered when I came back saying, "This all was too gray in my house lighting, let's start over." This lady put in the work! 3. You want someone who is honest. I had a LOT of questions. Usually Ashley had the answers, but when she didn't, she went and did the research and got back to me. That meant a ton to me! Several other places I shopped at would give me pat answers to my VERY specific questions, and I just had that feeling you get when someone is glossing over your questions for the sake of the sale. Ashley never did that! If she felt like a floor wasn't a good fit for me, she would tell me and tell me why. 4. You want someone to work within your budget and not upsell you. Once I finally picked a floor, Ashley and Mazz were great about giving me options to bring down the price. My husband is very handy and at first we were going to install the floors ourselves. This team gave us a great price on just the materials. After our purchase of the floors and before our scheduled pickup, we changed our minds about doing it ourself and asked for an installation quote. Ashley provided me a quick quote, and within 3 days of agreeing to the installation price, we had the installer at our door with our materials ready to install. Considering we had 1400 sq ft to install, this was really impressive. I had fully intended to go with another company for my kitchen remodel, but after Ashley came by the house, I never thought of that other company again. We recently got our floors reinstalled by Fantastic Floors and had really horrible experience. Everything was great till the contract was signed but things quickly went downhill from there. Though we had several issues, I'm highlighting few key issues for brevity. They demanded more money after starting the work! The reasoning was that they had to order more wood. We said we cannot pay more because we signed the contract based on THEIR measurements and estimates. According to them it doesn't matter what they said earlier or what is on the contract or who measured and estimated, they have the right to ask for more money! We ended up paying more than what was in the contract! They took 14 days to complete 2156 sqft though they promised to complete in 3-4 days! We had a mix of wood and carpet floors, the wood was completed first (with additional payment). Carpet installation started on a Friday. On Saturday the installer asked if he can come to my house and check the remaining carpet and space to be done. He did measurements and said there not enough carpet to cover the area. He told me he asked Fantastic Floors to order more carpets since they didn't order enough. Fantastic Floors called me Monday afternoon and told a totally different story about forklift damaging carpet and said they are going to order more. As per my request they agreed to expedite the order and complete the work on Friday. However no expedition was done, it took more than a week for carpet to arrive and our house was in half done state for over a week. Quality concerns: The wood and carpet looks good installed but we noticed some planks making a crunching sound when stepped on. I am not an expert on wood installation but my guess is that they are not glued to the floor properly. Update 07/02/22 I saw that Fantastic Floors have responded to my review with lot of details and numbers. I am not a flooring person, as a customer two numbers important for me are the number in the contract/estimate provided by the contractor and the number in the payment check. When the second number is bigger than the first, it is not good situation or experience for the customer. I was not going to respond to their post. But I thought the readers should know the truth, when I saw the claim that I did not reach out to them before posting my review. Here's what happened: 6/3/22 - Wood installation complete 6/8/22 - Sent a text message describing two concerns. One of them was the plank making sound. I contracted fantastic floors to supply and install 3,000+ sqft of hardwood floors at my home in Cat Mountain. At first our sales rep, Diya, was very accommodative and aggressive with his pricing promising to beat his competitors. Diya visited my home to solidify the pricing and collect half of the payment upfront, on his way out he provided me with a poorly written contract on scratch paper with no line items for leveling material or labor. While the floors were as promised, Fantastic floors did cut some corners: 1. Quarter rounders do not match the baseboards in the office 2. Stair case looks off as Fantastic Floors used hardwood planks instead of stair caps to cut cost 3. Destroyed existing tiles around hearth of fire place, and insisted to put wood directly below a fire place (code violation) Although small details, there should be a level of standard when working on a higher end property. ' The issue arises upon completion of the project when Diya had invoiced an extra $1700 for leveling material and labor. The contract initially presented and signed by me had only an line item for "install", I would expect the leveling cost to be absorbed within this. Nevertheless I offered Diya $1000 as a settlement as the contract he provided to me had no mention of variability in the final cost of the project. Diya was stubborn that we pay the extra $1700 he incurred for leveling material and labor and was very disrespectful, cursing my family and calling non stop. read more

They are the best! I searched and got a couple of quotes for new vinyl planks floor installation. Their price is competitive and I felt a good vibe when I went to their store and met Mazz. My intuition was right. He listens what you want and very helping and patient. I had my stair carpeting replaced with wood. I opted for the white risers and wood treads. When the job was "completed", the workmanship was substandard. They did not paint the risers, caulking was incomplete, nail holes were not all filled, and the fit and finish was amateur at best. However, that is not the worst part. A week after installation, one of the bullnose pieces cracked lengthwise when stepped on. Mazz wanted me to pay for the material. That was after delay, after delay on getting the installer to come back. How many more bullnose pieces will crack? Time will tell. I was going to accept the poor installation (I painted and filled the holes and did the caulk), but when Fantastic Floors expected me to pay for their substandard material, I created an account and put this review up. We paid and the floors were starting to be installed in one small room.and we realized how cheap and ugly the product was so we asked to change. They returned the boxes that were not opened and charged us immensely. We had to change flooring and got really hit hard on the price. The overall experience was a nightmare. Stay away from this place! They promised our tile a week later after we had ordered it. Then two weeks later and still nothing. He also promised to give us our money back but when I went to go pick up the check he had deducted the shipping even though it was not our decision to cancel the order. He was very rude and yelled at me in front of other customers. Also when we would call to find out the status, he ignored our calls or tried to get his employee to do his dirty work. She didn't even know what was going on. At one point she even told him, "you talk to them, I do not know what is going on." After I went to get tile at another company in Cedar Park (which I recommend highly), I saw the difference in customer care. This other place took their time and showed me different tile, let me take the tile home, offered all the materials I would need and when a few boxes didn't come in they rushed the order and offered to delivered to our house. NOTHING compared to this guy, who was rude, didn't care and took our money. He was not very helpful as well when picking out the tile. He gave some sarcastic remarks and was in a rush. I talked to them on Mon saying we wanted to redo our first floor of our house with engineered hardwood and we were getting estimates on what this would cost. He started giving me numbers on the phone $3/per something, etc but I said I wanted an actual estimate since we are serious about this project. So they came out and measured the house that day. I did not hear from them so I called the next afternoon (Tue afternoon), they eventually called me back Tue ~6 and again started giving me numbers on the phone. I asked if they could email me with their estimate printed out and he said No. He said that we would just use that estimate to shop around. This floored me (pun intended). Every advice when doing a large renovation or remodeling work is to get at least 3 companies estimates to decide which company to go with; that's a gold standard. The other flooring companies provided their estimates in a professional way, detailing what they would do (demo work, using prime grip or glue, installation costs, etc). I told him I understood that this would just be an estimate, he didn't have to give me the actual sq footage of the house if that's what he's worried about (?). I did not receive the estimate. Seems a little shady that this company will not provide estimates when all other home contractors do provide estimates. read more
