Fourth of July weekend we decided to head up to the cabin for some cooler weather. One important…read morestop before we head to the cabin was a quick visit to James store. Kernville was wall-to-wall people everyone enjoying the Mountains, sunshine, Kern, river, and America's 250th birthday. James store was busy as might be expected on the big holiday weekend. I headed to the meat department too many choices. I decided on 2 habanero and 2 black pepper chicken kebabs to barbecue and a 6 pack of carnation drumsticks for dessert. The store looked great decorated and fully stocked they were ready for 4 July holiday. Shelly my cashier was super, all check stands were open very little waiting. Our barbecued kebabs Saturday night were delicious seasoned perfect and the marinade just right. The drumsticks hit the spot as well. Happy birthday America

After I explained to her at the time of purchase this was not communicated she stated how they are not required to inform customers. She then emphasized how it is a red tag items which means no refunds. Once again I explained how I was not aware of this as it was not communicated. She continued to stated how it's not required to inform customers about this. All I was asking for was an exchange for a different size. Instead they tried forcing me to purchase the exact same bathing suit in a different t size. I have been a customer here on family vacation for 25 years. After this moment I will not support this business. I will be contacting the owner as she stated. Simple communication could have cleared this up from the beginning, and the managers approached has improvement for customer service skills.

I walked in armed with my 64 ounce growler. The inside of the brewery was really nice and organized well. As I walked in I could see all their beer taps. I asked for a taster of their Amnesia IPA. I loved the hoppy flavor so I had them fill up my growler. They were bottling beer when I was there and it was cool to watch. I bought a shirt while they were filling up my beer. The employee was friendly and I even payed the brewery a return visit when I was heading home on Sunday. I look forward to many return visits.

As soon as I walked in with my dog I was berated by the staff member to tie her up outside. I was alone, however, I complied and took my dog outside and tied her up alone. There was no signage posted that I saw indicating their no dogs policy. Instead of politely explaining the rule, i was met with a harsh tone and felt unwelcome. At that point, I mentioned that the interaction had felt unnecessarily rude. Rather than acknowledging how it came across, the staff member became argumentative and insisted that I simply didn't know her well enough to judge her tone. The final straw was when I asked if they wanted my business and was told, "No." Businesses are absolutely entitled to have a no-dogs policy, and I would have happily followed it if it had been explained respectfully. My issue is not the policy--it's the customer service. I left without ordering and won't be returning.
