What an interesting addition to Newmarket. One must reserve time with the cats, you can't just show up. All of them are from a shelter in Seabrook and are available for adoption. There is a small counter where you can order Boba tea and cookies made by Sweetened Memories in Durham. I tried the Jasmine Boba with homemade jasmine pearls. I liked it because it wasn't too sweet. Cookies were great. The cats are confined to a separate room so if you are allergic, you can still get Boba tea without direct exposure to the animals. read more

3.5 Stars- I'm verging to the four star rating because the business is still new and learning. I've been waiting with great excitement for the opening of this cafe. I have been twice with friends on two different Saturday afternoons. The drinks are good and I can't speak about the baked goods. The process of getting into the cat lounge is easy and well thought out. The cat lounge is modestly sized and cat-ified (in the words of Jackson Galaxy). The space can be a problem when heavily booked (it was on both occasions). I would recommend the Tipsy Tabby consider a cap on a certain number of guests because each time I went, there was an awkward number of folks as opposed to available space/cat location in the lounge. This crowding really takes away from the experience and makes the $14 pp cost seem exorbitant. I'd be willing to pay for a guaranteed private or at least not crowded experience. The cats are sweet. The cafe is good about informing guests about their preferred petting spots, demeanor, and names. I wonder if I'd have a more pawsitive experience on a weekday. read more

I was excited to get the cat cafe experience and had heard that there was one in NH. I called the cafe to ask about how it was and if they were busy. My concern was another review mentioned that it was quite small and it is. I knew it was not handicapped accessible and it was street parking. there is a price for 15/30/60 minutes in the cat area. I was fine with that but I would have appreciated if they had told me this when I called them and specifically asked about reservations and what I needed to know about the cat cafe "experience". Yes you should call ahead to reserve your time. They have an area along the wall with stools that you can sit at if you're not interested in the cats. There was ample street parking and since I was on the clock for my time with the felines, I had no worries about being over the 2 hour parking time limit. I had a boba tea which was fairly priced. Lots of other coffee, tea options and hot chocolate options. A few small snack options. They have 8 beautiful cats and kittens currently. Each cat's info is on a poster on the wall so you can learn more about them. Essentially they are being fostered there and looking for forever homes. you can rationalize (girl math) the price of being with them as a donation for the upkeep of their needs. You can't pick them up which is understandable. So you are going to "interact" as much as they want but if you know cats that is the norm for most felines anyway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I bought a nice handmade toy for my cat (@ home). They have some really cute handmade items that are obviously all cats. My cat the toy. FYI the litter box is a noticeable odor which is a bit off putting. Maybe I just caught them on a heavy use day... Certainly would recommend giving it a try and seeing for yourself. Bear in mind: The place is small, time slot bookings to hang with the cats are limited per 50 mins. You must book in advance on their website. You can attempt a walk-in if they aren't busy, but know that's just chance. Not a full cafe, but a nice selection of drinks, snacks and bakery goods. Decor is great ambience; the area for the cats is terrific, with real trees, beds, toys, chairs and huge windows for them to look out. High expectations on these reviews from people who need to readjust their expectations. Yes, I would love to play with the sleepy cats too, but remember these cats have been seeing customers all day. Cats sleep a lot, they're not on a work schedule. Paying $14 I understand the frustration but you could also not pay and not hang out with them also‍. Actual review: This is a great little place to test and see if a potential kitty would be good with you and find their forever home. The drinks were good my mother really liked the chocolate drink. I saw they had noodles also but it is cramped and I'm not sure how comfortable of a time I would have eating noodles there. I think they could do better notifying guest of the rules before they go inside.(a lot of not following the rules) maybe an age limit to who can visit the cats. I saw a few mothers and their young child who doesn't quite know delicacy yet so they spent the whole time yelling at the children and sipping happy juice. Although I don't mind them sleeping I would prefer if they weren't so unreachable when sleeping. It'd be nice to watch them sleep and give some soft pets. Place is new and learning. I think it'll smooth over eventually. Doesn't make sense giving a bad rating on a new business trying to do their best. This place is a very sweet place. The owner and employees are very friendly and took care preparing our drinks. We are vegan, and enjoyed a delicious decaf (most places don't make it fresh for people, but they did!) and Boba brown sugar tea which my 16 year old loved. They are super caring of their kitties. I asked if I could take pictures and the owner said, "Yes, but please don't use a flash". That's something I asked people to do when my son was a newborn! Also, you are not supposed to pick up the kitties, which was very hard, but is very kind to the cats. In response to those who were surprised they had to book a time, and that it wasn't a time only for them, I recommend reading about places before you go to them! Also, we have looked at cat cafes before and haven't seen anything below $30 an hour, but it's only $14 here! The ONLY reason I left off one start is because it felt pretty cramped in the space. Mostly the cafe space. I LOVE that they separate the cat and cafe part with a big wall of windows, but if you wanted to go just to enjoy the cafe part, it is a tight squeeze with counter type tables along the hallway into the back. read more

It's a nice place, and it was fun chatting with the owner. It has a cafe section, where anyone can come in and order pastries and things to drink, and a lounge section, where the cats are. The lounge requires a reservation and costs $14 for an hour's visit. Not having a reservation, I sat in the cafe. I could see the cats in the lounge through large windows. The place is nice, but I'm still debating in my mind whether it's worth $14 an hour to visit with cats, when I can visit friends' cats for free. read more

I so desperately wanted to write a stellar review. Sadly, my experience was anything but. I drove 24minutes (one way) with my three children to visit this cafe. Yes, it was on a whim and no, I did not read their website top to bottom. I didn't know it was "advised" to book seating ahead. I didn't realise a cafe would require that. Upon learning there was no time slots available from the owner who couldn't care less, i turned around with my three very sad and disenchanted children. I never heard, "Oh we are so sorry, we feel awful" or "please come back and make sure to have a hot chocolate on us." Anything! But there was nothing to put a smile on my children's faces. As we walked to the car, i just couldn't believe the owner's compete disregard and the cheekiness from the barista. I had to express my genuine disappointment with how this let-down was handled. I re-entered their very narrow cafe entrance. I was very polite when I shared my disappointment in hopes to instigate a bit of emotion from this owner so i can at least walk away somewhat content and hopeful for my next attempt. Alas, I got nothing but unconcern, zero sympathy, zero empathy and inattention. In fact, when I finally realised the owner would just not show the slightest bit of care, I turned around and ushered my children towards the door for the final time. The second I turned my body, I could here, loud and clear, either the cheeky barista or the owner say "Waw." I let it go. How rude and inconsiderate. We paid $14pp for a sizeable group, only to sit in a tiny room with 4 sleeping cats who didn't interact with us at all or were even visible; I mean, literally, we just sat there for 50 minutes doing nothing (because there was nothing to do), then left. The drinks were not good, and the space itself is very small and cramped. Perhaps this is all part of working out the kinks, but I just can't imagine anyone going there as a regular. Especially not for that price. It's really too bad, because we were really excited and waited a long time for this place to open. read more

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned where these cats come from. This shelter is overcrowded and many of the cats are unhealthy. Please see the reviews for the place. Be very wary of the cats you adopt. Read their paperwork carefully. They tell you that their vet will take care of any existing issues but then he never has openings. We were one of the (apparently several) people who adopted a cat we of course fell in love with but they could never get him in for a dental that they told us they would pay for. His teeth were a mess so we had to bring him to our own vet and pay for the extraction of 16 teeth. They refused to help with the cost. He also had respiratory issues that our vet told us he had for a long time. We were never told this by them though they said he had been checked out by their vet. It turned out he had lymphoma and after lots of money on chemo he died only a few months after we adopted him. So just beware. It can be a heartbreaking and expensive experience. read more

I have been excited about this place opening for a long time. Due to the pandemic it took a while and that's okay. However we stopped by today and our experience wasn't great, I was very disappointed. First, you have to pay 14 dollars per person to go in and sit with the cats for 50 minutes. We didn't realize that until we purchased some drinks and pastries, no one had told us. The area where you are supposed to be able to sit and look through a window to watch is a very narrow hallway with stools. Several people came in (reservations), which made it impossible to sit and try and enjoy our drinks and food. The whole place was cramped and tight and it seemed rather disorganized. As for the refreshments, the lemon square was stale and the drinks were odd tasting. As I said in the beginning, I was very disappointed. I will give them a while to figure things out, hopefully they will realize some changes need to happen, and then I may try again. I really think the 14 dollars per person is way overdone and needs to change. I do wish them luck and hope they find a way to be successful. read more

I really wish I could give this place a better review. I bought tickets for $14 a piece for myself and my partner to spend 50 minutes in the cat cafe. I assumed incorrectly that the small space would be ours for the entirety of the booking. The cat enclosure part of the cafe is very cute and intimate- it's full of plush chairs and areas for cats to nestle and sleep. It would fit about 4-5 people comfortably. There are 6 cats currently and the ones that were awake seemed to take to people well. Unfortunately, we were only there for about 4 minutes when a group of 5 young children and one adult were admitted to the cat enclosure along with us. It immediately became cramped and uncomfortable with multiple children running around such a small space. We ended up leaving after 10 minutes due to this. I feel like $14 a head is a lot to ask to share a very small space with a bunch of other people and a few cats. It should be made very clear on the website that sharing the space will be a possibility. read more
