She didn't end up making it, but the staff was able to give me a more than fair equivalent for the Academy tuition, already above and beyond just at the check in expereince! Academy started in the classroom to learn the basics. Surprisingly, the information dump was not overwhelming and we were lead to the track for a warm up so the staff can study our pre-existing driving habits. At the academy, individual strengths and weaknesses were identified and we got LOTS of laps to practice. I was physically sweaty and tired by the time we finished! I look forward to bringing my daughter back!

I recently took my son and a friend to dads slot car racing where they had the best time racing…read morecars - and eating ice cream! My son wanted to take 2 other friends back on a Thursday evening. Unfortunately, dads was closed but I saw that mid- America was open for business score! This is way bigger than dads. They had the "professional" racers up front and put us on the beginner track on the back. Lurie set up my kids and also had them racing for 30 min. They all had a fun time despite a few meltdowns, but usually the case with a group of 1st grade boys. The cars and tracks here were in much better condition than dads where everything kept breaking. So if choosing between the 2 locations I'd probably come back here next time. It's a great way to kill some time (especially on a rainy or winter day) and a pretty affordable activity too! I also think would be a fun spot for a kids bday party!

In the last few years, there has been a revival of sorts with a certain amount of people who were glued to computer screens in the 1980's and 1990's playing "adventure" and "virtual reality" games discovering it was actually more fun "playing" in 3-D. So hobbies like model railroading, R/C airplanes, and yes slot car racing have made a comeback. For a change, more new raceways have been opening in the last few years in the USA than have been closing. All that having been said- Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies is one of the best equipped and run model car raceways in North America. Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies is about people having fun and inviting their inner child to come out to play. Rental racing cars are available so that you and your buddy can pretend you are Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. to "Shake and Bake" around their awesome 8-lane Oval track. By the same token children are invited for hours of family fun-Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies can even arrange a memorable racing birthday party for children aged 6 and up. Call them for special package deals for a day of fun for any sized group. Does your company want to encourage team building? How about a team racing event? Drivers, pit crews, team leaders... miniature racing teaches the same working together for success lessons that "pro" racing instills. Call the raceway now to plan and schedule your corporate event. On that particular night, an annual racing event was taking place, the 39th Annual SUPERSEAL Slinger Nationals, a 200 lap Super Late Model race. As a quarter mile asphalt oval, the track is amazingly tiny. It takes only about eleven or twelve seconds for the cars to go one lap. (Take a look at my video). It is apparent, if you've done any type of tactical driving, that the skill level of the drivers is amazing. There were several heats prior to the main race and we saw only one minor accident. It's amazing because the speed and tight turns of the track calls for pin-point accuracy, especially considering the cars are merely inches OR LESS from each other during a race. The seating facility itself is old and worn out with bench seating, only. The spaces between the seats are VERY tight and if someone decides to attach a portable stadium seat chair, only a child could sit behind it and, at that, their knees would be crammed up. Additionally, I'm afraid that if an adult has a hard time walking or keeping their balance, the steep angle of the seating area is actually dangerous. The benches are NOT installed in stepped tiers; they are installed on angle to the hillside, only. Parking is available all around the raceway facility in empty lots and facilitated by parking attendants who direct you where to park. Parking is free. I noticed a lot of people eating popcorn, hotdogs, hamburgers and drinking beer, but I did not partake in any food or drink items while there. The race was a kick-in-the-ass. I really enjoyed it. For anyone who has never experienced a professional car race venue, this is the place to go.

Hell, there are even 12-year-old drivers - how can you not want to cheer them on and support their dreams. Matt Kenseth began his racing career at Slinger and he typically still races there once a year, usually against someone like Kyle Busch. The facility certainly isn't handicap friendly. I've seen wheelchairs, but I always wonder what poor soul had to push the wheelchair up the super steep incline to the seating area. That being said, there's always a good variety of food from hot dogs and icees to nachos and candy. In the past, there has been beer and Mike's Hard Lemonade for sale but, during my last visit (summer 2015), they were only selling beer. Most recently tickets were $10 and parking is free. I feel like Slinger is a pretty good deal all round. We bought my son earmuffs this summer because it was too loud for him and I still think the entire evening was less than $40 for three people. There's usually fireworks and there's often fun things like tricycle races for the kids on the track. Go to Slinger if you've never been! You'll have a blast!

I've never in my life left a Wisco fest after 40 minutes and been actively pissed off, but congrats to you Chocolate Fest for coming in well below my low expectations. Have you been to State Fair? Imagine that, but with all the good parts left out. Basically, it's the super sketchy Midway area, with the kind of people who hang out there. You have to pay to get in which is a joke considering there is literally nothing to see or do whatsoever. Parking is in a muddy field and is $5. If you're smart (we weren't) you'll take one of the local businesses up on their $5 parking which includes 2 beers. Once inside, you'll enjoy exactly no local food providers except LD's BBQ which is the one and only redeeming thing here. Where are the brats? The roasted corn? If you want funnel cakes or deep fried cookie dough, yeah they've got that. ONE beer stand. Located on the opposite end of the site from the portajohns (there appeared to be ~20 in total). What? There's an "expo tent" which consists of 12 moms pushing their MLM Lularoe crap. So, anyway - it's called Chocolate Fest. So about that - there's the "chocolate experience" tent which involves maybe 10 places selling stuff. Ohhhhhkkaay. Or you can buy the same Nestle garbage that's available at any Walgreens for twice the price. How does this shitfest stay in business year after year? And for 3 days, no less? Everyone involved with this travesty in any way should be ashamed of themselves for desecrating the concept of a WI festival.

The Chocolate tent was small and though there were some good samples, I felt we didn't a good bargain paying the extra money for the samples. The petting zoo was fun and there were plenty of other food options and things to see and do. I just wish the name was different so you wouldn't have a different Idea in your mind when coming. You imagine Chocolate fountains everywhere and booths creatively using chocolate for different dishes and products and it just falls flat in that regard. However, it was relatively cheap to get in, parking options are ample and many closer to the venue give you free drinks as incentive to park there. We actually found free street parking a block or two away so that was even better. All in all we had a good time and would definitely return next year!

The Amazing Milwaukee Race is a great way of meeting people and to learn about Milwaukee. It also brings more awareness to community activities, various restaurants, non profits and places you probably would never have visited otherwise and make a difference in the Milwaukee area (such as donating to the Historical Society to upkeep a memorial, building a prop for a local acting company, or spruce up a wall of a school by painting it). Per The Amazing Milwaukee Race's facebook: "Teams of two experience Milwaukee landmarks and businesses on an amazing urban adventure with clues: activities, puzzles, & checkpoints that challenge participants to get from start to finish. Inspired by the TV show's design, it is a one day "Amazing Race."" I strongly recommend you participate in it to not only learn about Milwaukee but just to have fun!

I literally can not say enough good things about it, we had zero complaints. It was easy to get to, the directions they had on the website were better then what came up on the GPS. Parking was FREE and there was plenty of spots available. Packet pick up was a breeze, no wait time. Our goodie bag was great. There was plenty to do while we waited for our start time. The course was challenging but not unbearable. First mile was mostly a fast run with a mud pit and a few other obstacles. Second mile was a bit rough, the hills were tough. Third mile just looped around really. Obstacles were everything they should be, challenging but FUN! The end was the best part, giant pool followed by a giant mud pit, then the finish line. The athlete refreshers were perfect for after the race: granola bars, banana, fruit snacks and water. There was a Monster tent handing out drinks, the Subaru swag tent had reusable ice packs for you to take home. The absolute best part was the "car wash" and hoses they had set up for you to clean off all the mud. Paul Mitchell was one of the sponsors, they had gallons of shampoo out by the hoses for people to use, it was perfect. I have been to mud runs before where they had a water tank truck with a guy holding a hose and one person at a time got to rinse off. This was the best set up I have ever seen. It was also a family oriented event. Lots of stuff to do to keep the kids entertained including a kid mud run. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend doing this run. We will be returning next year without a doubt.

Every single time I have come here I feel like I am attending a Fraternity Party. It always has great music and a party vibe. I feel the drinks are extremely overpriced. Once you have docked your boat, and arrived. You walk down the pier to the entrance. There is a man standing at the bar entrance. He will check everyone entering to make sure that nothing is brought into the bar. No vapes or beverages are allowed in. Women have to open up their purses and then are allowed in. The only entry to Blarney's Island is by boat or a boat shuttle. The shuttle costs $15 per person, children 12 & under are free if accompanied by an adult. I think this is expensive to be able to attend this bar. So $15 to get there and then an expensive beverage. I didn't realize they served food there. I saw a sign for peanuts and popcorn. I saw a menu on a table but was never offered one. I obtained a drink from the bar and then sat down at a high top table on a stool. Yesterday they had a good band. We were there for about 1 hour. This would be a nice place to take someone from out of town, but prepare to spend some $$$$.
