There are stations which you can reserve through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. No reservation required though. You will need an Ohio range permit. These can he purchased online or at many retailers. You can get one any place you can get a hunting or fishing license. $5.00 for a single day pass or $24.00 for the year. I recommend the yearly pass. Plenty of free parking. You must bring your own targets. They provide backs to attach targets to an place in ground in front of back stop. If it's your first time familiarize yourself with range rules. Particularly those pertaining to cease fires. Don't forget to train often and in all kinds of weather.

Five ladies went shooting with a female instructor. Two were first timers. A short class…read moreintroduced us to the 9mm. Then we headed to the targets. This class was not intimidating like others I have taken, but all classes are worth taking. Shooting areas are all over the 66 areas and more are being built. This public range, where you can walk in or call about classes, has a pistol range and competition bays. Shotgun sports offered are skeet, trap, clays and five stand. Classes include CCW, self defense, holstering, basic rifle, family safety, church security training, defensive mindset and emergency, and force on force. You can purchase a membership for shotgun OR pistol and rifle, and get discounts. The range is located off Rt. 528 south of Thompson. There is a big sign. Check out their YouTube videos and Facebook page for updates. Hungry before or afterward? Stockers on the Thompson Circle has very good food.
