I have just returned from what was my "Maiden Voyage" on board the Adventures of the Seas cruise…read moreship in the Mediterranean. We had booked in a group so it worked out approximately E1200 for 2 adults and two children. Return flights to and from Malaga, Spain add extra E500. We paid extra for transfers to save delays and queues extra 20 euro per head. Well worth it. The ship was fantastic 14 stories, casinos, bars, cinema, adult only pool, huge communal deck/pool area, 5 jaccuzzis I'll enclose a link so you can check it out. http://bookings.royalcaribbean.co.uk/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itinerary.do?hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&cruiseType=CO&state=&packageCode=AD07M154&date= We sailed overnight to Valencia, spent several hours taking in the sights kids loved it. Spent the following day sailing to Cittevecia, Italy 100km from Rome. Bartered with a local taxi driver to take 8 adults and two teens and baby and buggy into Rome for the day they started at 400 euro and we bargained a deal for 240euro return. The drivers spoke very little english but he had enough about him to know where we needed to go. He dropped u at the Vatican doors and came back two hours later, then to Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Colleseum, Venician square, then we arranged to eat at a little family restausrant, then he brought us the the top of Rome to have an overview of the city. absolutely spectacular. and returned us to our ship with an hour to spare. Next day Livorno, we got advice from a local tourist information to get the no.1 bus to the train station (10mins) and then one train stop (20min) to Pisa. Walked for about 2km to the wonderful sight that is Pisa. Kids where tired of sightseeing so we didnt go on to Florence and decided to stay in Livorno and shop in the markets for trinkets. Next day sailed to Ajaccio, Corsica, I took the tour bus (90mins at 10euro), well worth it for the picturesque views while herself and the kids shopped in the beautiful markets and took a few hours on the spotless beaches, and ice blue seas. Ajaccio is beautiful but expensive but there was no cost on transfers or travel as the ship docks in the harbour 15mins walk to the center of the town. Spent the night and following day sailing back to Malaga. The Staff on board are all excellent and well trained in customer service, no request goes unanswered and if it can be done it will be done (sometimes at your expense) The food is constant and the variety is overwhelming at times. The drink is purchased via and onboard credit system which you can monitor on your tv each night to keep track of your spend. The entertainment is not always free but take advantage of what is free. 2 nights of the seven night cruise are formal dress so be prepared. I will definitely be going on a cruise again and it was a fantastic experience. I cannot rate it five stars because of the hidden extras like casino, excursions and so forth but it has prepared me well for the next cruise I take which wont be too long now........and definitely with Royal Caribbean. Big shout out to Rachel in entertainment, Bruce our Cabin man, and Lisa at reception all added to making our holiday a very memorable one. http://www.royalcaribbean.co.uk/our-ships/voyager-class/adventure-of-the-seas/#tab-16-4612

Celebrity Cruises - Eclipse…read more Went on a day tour on Celebrity Eclipse to see how it compared with Royal Caribbean's ships. Celebrity is owned by RC but just the next step up. First impressions I don' think the ship looks as grand and pretty as some of RC's latest ships (i.e. Anthem and Oasis) but still looked quite grand. The things I liked especially on the Eclipse when I was running around like challenge Aneka was - the main dining area I felt it was very spacious, bright, deluxe with its leather seating and airy - the real grass lawn on top deck where you can listen to live music, see glass blowers, have a picnic or even play croquet, very unique - the large square deluxe hammocks on board and double lido's that looked a bit like a bed - the decent size swimming pool area for adults only however lacked character a bit - window displays of the shops - free icecream at the buffet area with a choice of toppings what I did not like or felt lacked - the staff on board they seemed quite rude, rushed and not very knowledgeable especially waiters - lack of sports facilities - small cafe type dining areas - lack of pools - lack of kids activities / areas what I think is very similar to RC - the food as we had a 4 course meal whilst on board on our tour. I don't feel that the food was as grand. As for entertainment quiz's I am still unsure of how many quiz's are played during day. Someone told me that there is only 1 quiz on a sea day but then I heard different other stories from other people. Wherefore RC practically has one going on every hour in the evening and some during the day. So I am still unsure for entertainment celebrity offers on board during the day and in evening. So the question is would I book to go on this award winning CC Eclipse ship possibly not as I did not really feel that there was much difference to honour the higher price that you have to pay for there cruises also because I am still unsure of the entertainment offered and I love to do quiz's when on board. I feel that RC offers a lot more value for money especially when it comes down to entertainment and sport.

Don't trust Celebrity Cruises. My wife and I had a cruise scheduled for April 2020 that was…read morecancelled due to Covid. We took the cruise credit option assuming that Covid would end soon. Our cruise credit option expires on May 4, 2022. It does not look like Covid will be ending anytime soon. My wife has a rare blood disorder and cannot get the Covid shot by her doctors request. I called yesterday and asked for my initial deposit back on the grounds that Celebrity will not let us on their ship without a Covid Shot and my wife could not get one for medical reasons. I was told that they would not be refunding our deposit and had to use it if we wanted our money back. Isn't this typical, they cancelled our cruise, they won't let us on their ships and they won't give us our money back. Sounds like a scam to me. Be very careful and make sure you read the fine print or they will steal your money like they did to us! We have cruised with Celebrity before but seeing how they treat their customers I think it is time to try a new cruise line.
