Another mechanic confirmed that no repairs were done or parts replaced. Tries to sneak an undone job to unsuspecting customers.

It's a scam. Read his yelp reviews, read the negative google reviews. Do not hire this guy. Demands money up front from customers. Took ($700) for parts from me. Later found out the parts prices were too high and he actually didn't do the job at all. Came to fix my car and suspiciously finishes a 4 hour job in 50 mins. I take a look at the car and all the parts looked like they were barely touched. Asked him to call me but would refuse to get on the phone. Says that I'm the one that is cheating him somehow. Told him I will get another mechanic to check what he did and can pay him (remaining smaller amount) tomorrow if I'm mistaken. Starts pressuring me to pay TODAY so that I don't find out what he did. I went to 2 mechanics and they confirmed that he has done none of the repairs he says he has done and has overcharged me for the parts in the first place. Got it all in writing from 2X Canadian Tire stores. I asked him again if could give me a call and just finish the work as that is all that I care about and don't wanna go around all day dealing with this. Starts calling me names, threatening me and not willing to pick up the phone. Read his google and yelp review (link below). He has screwed a lot of people in Vancouver: Read his reviews: https://www.yelp.ca/biz/the-travelling-mechanic-langley-3?uid=zKytLWuEfPZfE6B7aYcuOw&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

Upon arrival, you are greeted by a clean bright if not spartan reception area with sharp looking employees who seem competent, caring and happy to be there at 8:30am. My first impression as an old "car guy", is moderate trepidation. They seem oddly way too friendly and helpful and I got the feeling I look like a 500.00 bill hanging as low hanging fruit on a money tree. They have a lot of "helpfulness" that comes across like - that's gonna cost me... "Free inspection, free pictures, free report, free consultation" my old guy senses are on high alert. Waiting for my vehicle I was impressed to see; They calmly book folks in with smiles on their faces and methodical if not a bit confident understanding of clients issues or appointments. I was offered drinks and or coffee (self serve) and if I wanted a valet service. Their magazine rack is national geographic heavy, so you might want to bring reading material or like most folks make sure your phone is charged and take advantage of the free wifi. So as I'm sitting and waiting I get a text with my vehicle report and pictures, nice! Seems like a great value for that. Nice to get it before my meeting with my service advisor. Zahmir was really friendly and seemed very proud of the company he worked for. Everything went extremely well, all in all fears Aleved and some trust was earned! I WILL BE BACK!

If we wanted to rent out ad space to them, we'd have informed them in advance, and set a fee for doing so. But a bolt was snapped, so the unforgivable thing was to get the advertising bolted on, they drilled FOUR NEW HOLES through the body of the car. Photos taken just in case. As we don't want to deal with an insurance deductible, I'm going to seal up those four holes myself. As for the snapped-off bolt? I, an amateur with home tools, was able to drill it out using an ordinary drill and some cutting fluid in about 10 minutes, how is this beyond the skill of a professional mechanic? A closer look at the bill reveals they charged $44 to do this on top of the things that were actually asked for. $5 was for parts... the ad itself maybe?! Or was it for the 4 masonry screws they punched through the body of the car. Addendum: They admit fault, will even pay up (but only after the reviews come down), but won't offer an explanation for how it happened, nor any guarantee that they won't do it to someone else. He even gave some song and dance about how the ads are normal business practice (which they sort of are for the more desperate outfits, but they really should ask first since there's an actual dollar value to advertising - doubly so if they have to put holes through your car to do it). Zero explanation for why auto mechanics couldn't drill out a snapped bolt, had they had this skill we wouldn't even be talking about this, I'd have just quietly removed the ad that had been screwed into the official mounts. So the bad reviews stay up unless they can come up with some explanation and guarantee, that's the whole point of reviews, to spare future customers the aggravation.

So instead of finding the problem and fixing it, they put a band aid on the problem till the next time... They will always find something to fix. The owner also likes to belittle people in his shop. Saying things like, let me put this in terms "you might understand". Very inappropriate. I see other reviews mentioning that they put a ad plate around license plates (without permission), that are almost impossible to remove. I have vowed to tell anyone that needs car work done, not to go here.
