I would not refer anyone to The Tub Guy. I had to leave work early, and the guy that did the repair came two hours late. He did a half job, and came back two days later to fill in the caulking. Do not use Tub Guy. He charges a price that for only $50-100 more you can find companies with much better reputations that will also give 3 or even up to 5 year warranties. Not a single tub he did for us lasted even 12 months, at first I thought it was the tenants and didnt think much of it, then we used him in a property that sees very ltitle use as it is a travel location and 2 of the jobs he did there didn't even last 6 months. Instead of coming back to fix his work, he told me it must be someone washing animals and the claws scratch the tub (factually untrue, no pets allowed) and then recommended an even bigger upsell and to install a more expensive entire plastic sheet that would be much more durable. Absolutely don't use this guy. Inferior product, wont even come back to fix work done 6 months ago, which for tub reglazing is absurdly short period of time. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Had my tub and tile walls coated in August 2019. The technician missed a section around the faucet and had to return to make that repair. Technician also left overspray on the toilet. 19 months later and the product is peeling off the tub (Five year warranty). Contact Randy (owner) and he is willing to do the repair if I show him my invoice. Told him that I doubt I kept the invoice and he actually hung up on me - before knowing if I had the invoice or not. Okay, I couldn't find the invoice so I text him to show that I have my canceled check and the text messages we exchanged before and after the original work was done (including the repair that had been done). This review is a little overdue. Several months ago I had the Tub-Guys come out to my home and coat and tub that had scratches that were starting to rust and was also rather slippery. They provided a very reasonable estimate and arrived when scheduled. The job went smoothly, no bad odors and they cleaned up. The tub looks great and is now non-slip. I would give him no stars if I could. I had nothing but problems with The Tub Guy. Read my BBB complaint for details if interested. He honestly did a terrible job at resurfacing my tub and when I contacted him to ask him to come back and get the bubbly film he left and to fix a couple of spots that he missed, he originally agreed, but then never showed up. When I persisted, he decided that he was not going to deal with me or come back and would refund my money. NOT. He never refunded my money and I never saw or heard from him again until I filed a complaint with the BBB a few months later. And I only filed that because my tub started peeling where he sprayed it. And boy was he vicious toward when I filed my BBB report. Rude, accusatory, defensive, etc. He acted like I was the problem and not him. After a lot of back and forth, he finally agreed to refund me if I signed a release form and agreed to drop my complaint with the BBB. I signed the form, sent it back, and said I would agree to his conditions once he refunded my money. Which he never did. So the BBB ended up closing my complaint and leaving it up on their site. We absolutely could have resolved this, but Randy the owner just would not work with me. As a side note, I noticed that every negative complaint about his work on public websites like Yelp, he comes back and viciously attacks the complainant and acts like they are the problem. If I could have selected no stars I would have! This was was by far the worst work I've ever seen! The paint has drips in it and wasn't sprayed evenly and when I mentioned it he just took a rag and wiped it along with the rest of the paint. So now I have a spot that has no paint on it. He didn't do a good job at cleaning the tub before spraying so now it has dried dirt and hair in the finish. Please do not waste your money with him because now I have to get someone to fix it! Never hire the company my mom called the company to restore the tub in the second bathroom. The guy came to do the job, removed the shower doors and placed them in my 16 year old sisters bedroom, when he went to work on the tub my mom heard a huge crash from the living room and sure enough he had broke the expensive glass shower doors. Which has shot glass literally everywhere in half the house. When my mom went over to see what had happened the guy was shaking and quick to say "the dog broke it"...as he was dialing the number to his boss. My mom looked at him stunned because she knew the dog wasn't even in the house and was on a walk with my little sister. My mom at that point was a little nervous because of how the worker straight lied to her face and at that point she didn't know what to think, so she went to get a glass of water and the guy just vainished with the mess and damage to our home. My mom and sister will now have to pay to sleep in a hotel because shards of glass are all inside the mattress, and the animals will need to stay with a dog watching service. They won't do anything to help, and are not working with us in this situation. We will be taking action against there limited liability insurance. When the heavy shower glass door broke it chipped the tile in several places and shot shards of glass into the drywall. We enjoy giving local business support where credit is due, especially during times like this with the Coronavirus and everything, My mom and i would be more understanding if the worker cleaned up the mess, and gave us a plan on how it was going to get fixed, and then we could of made arrangements on what to do in the meantime while half our house is unsafe to occupy. But the worker, sabashton literally ran out of the The house. And the owner, Randy Baxter had no apologies and was a coward for not facing the incident his company caused. read more

Randy The Tub Guy - very nice. However, after he was out 4 times in attempt to "fix" things ... the last time he said the product was not perfect. He explained because I lived "near the water" the product would never be as expected. Sure enough, after his 4th time out in a month - less than 2 hours after he departed the product started to "bleed through". I would have appreciated the fact I live "near the water" - I live in Tampa Bay and there is water all around - being told the product would not work. Instead, I paid for the services and due to it being the only bath, spent several nights in a hotel as the tub/shower couldn't be used for at least 48 to 72 hours. It was wasted money. read more

Terrible terrible terrible!! After Randy, the owner, came to "touch up" what his employee had messed up, he actually made it worse! I literally pointed to the rivelets of material rolling down the sides of the tub from overspraying, and he wouldn't even acknowledge that he could see it!! It was bizarre! I then asked for my money back and he told me he would refund it. He was sneaking out my front door without a word when I caught up to him and asked about my check. He said he would send me some papers to sign and when he got them back he would send my refund. I got a letter telling me to take it up with his insurance company!! I tried that but his policy does not cover poor workmanship. I sent him a certified letter asking for my money. I have not heard from him again and never received my promised refund. He lied right to my face. DO NOT TRUST RANDY THE TUB GUY!!!! HE OWES ME $565.00!!!!! I will be happy to send pictures of the horrible finish on my tub. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. Had my tub sprayed by this company in April. First, there are two chips in the paint that I immediately noticed. He supposedly guarantees his work but when I called him to have it fixed he wanted proof of the receipt and pics. I sent both to him and he never got back to me. To date, the chips have not been fixed. Second, they made a mess getting the paint on my bedroom furniture and shoes that were on the floor. I have used Randy before he even had a license to paint tubs. No Randy I wrote the checks to you not your friend who's was a general contractor who since has passed away. He charges way to much and if there's ever a problem its such a huge ordeal. I used him to spray a tub and walls at a house I was flipping HE SENT SOMEONE ELSE (I have been doing this for years BTW and every one who came in to view the house for sale said I can see the old tile. He would not fix and said "its not my fault you can sell the house" Things I know for a fact I can lay tile on top of the tile and just paint the tub my self. Non existent quality control: I had complaints before the tech left. These were dismissed as minor and self-correcting; and even after a followup repair visit, requiring a second repair visit which didn't happen. Inappropriate behavior: "snooping" around my home, denied damaging the bedroom dresser and blamed a person not present to defend himself. Sarcastic customer service: basically said I didn't know what I was talking about. I admit I don't know the trade terms to describe the problem. The guest tub had a tiny, dime sized chip that was rusting. Tub Guy talked me into filling the chip and repainting the entire tub. His prep guy comes and filled the chip perfectly, and we should have stopped there. Run people, run! I paid for color match paint for an up charge, and a non suction bath mat sold by his wife. Post painting the tub has an entirely new texture, part over spray drip, some under spray beads and sandpaper scratches. The owner Randy and his wife refused to come see the work performed by their employee. Randy was extremely unprofessional and rude to boot. It's been almost 2 years now. My tub finish has rubbed off in some spots. The bath mat has pulled up the paint in 80% of the bottom. The worst $ we ever spent! read more

Big Shout Out to The Tub Guy! They did a great job, we are extremely pleased. They transformed our 1957, dull, dingy, chipped old tub into a brand new beautiful tub. BUT, not only that...they refinished the tile walls around our entire bathroom with an incredible speckle coating that updated our bland old tile into a beautiful room. We are extremely pleased. Doing both jobs, two different colors, made for a two-day project...but so worth it. Wish we had done this years ago. No more embarrassment when guests visit the Guest Bathroom. read more

Everything seemed ok until our contractor pointed out some areas where it looked the like finish was coming off and was flat and hadn't had a gloss coat applied. Without even being able to have a normal discussion or allow for any possibility that a mistake was made, he basically lost his mind and accused the contractors people of using tape and not painters tape to mask it off (although he doesn't actually know if that happened) and saying that it's in his contract not to use any adhesive and that he didn't do anything wrong. I mean literally within seconds of just trying to ascertain an issue he lost control of his emotions and it was impossible to even talk about it. It was obvious he would never remotely consider he could make a mistake. Really odd to fly off the handle as a business person. I just told the contractor forget about it we will have someone else repair the work. I have other fish to fry. The work looks ok otherwise and we will see if it holds up but I can't recommend him. read more

We were quoted $900 to re-glaze the master shower (tile) and the tile that is around the bathtub. It took them 4 hours to tape the bathroom because "the tape wouldn't stick" to the paint (marque one coat - satin finish). Finally they started spraying the tile and they come out and state that the paper had fallen off the wall so there was some over spray onto the painted wall above the shower. I said that's not ideal however we can just cut in with the left over paint when they're done. After this statement I decided to call off of work because I was worried about the job they were going to leave behind (I don't trust my husband lol). After they stated that they were finished, my husband and I go in to look and the "little over spray" on the wall, and it is all the way up to the ceiling - the whole area has to be repainted. There was also over spray on the wall next to the tub that needed to be repainted. Upon more detailed inspection there were some spots missed and some peeling and some not clear cut lines like I would have liked. Not bad work but definitely not great. He touched up what he could and i was OK with it. He then asked who was paying the bill and I stated I did not want to pay him the quoted $900 due to the fact we had to repaint all above the shower and next to the tub. He proceeds to ask "if I'm kidding?" and I told him I was not. He asked what I was purposing (obviously pissed), and I said $850 because we now have to go buy paint supplies and possibly more paint and spend a couple of hours fixing the bathroom. He told me he wasn't going to argue with me and I paid him the $850 and he stormed out of the house. Not only sub-par work but still expected the quoted price - what a joke.
