We visited the Turn House for Mother's Day lunch. The service was friendly, but the kitchen was definitely backed up from the holiday. We ordered two brunch burgers, a seafood omelette, a quiche and chicken and biscuits. The Peach Bellini's were great. We were surprised that mimosas weren't listed on the menu. I saw other mothers receiving flowers, but my mom did not receive any. We had made a reservation about four weeks in advance requesting an outside table. When we arrived the hostess said we couldn't have a table outside, but her colleague quickly accommodated us with a table outside. It would've been nice if we didn't have to deal with that moment of hesitation. Another interesting moment was when my sister-in-law inquired about the salmon cakes and the waitress told her that most people send it back that it's for a more advanced pallet and it would be safer if she went with a seafood omelette. Came here for a Mother's Day brunch and saw they had Chicken Cordon Bleu. I've never had it before, so I didn't know what to expect, but I decided to order it. When it arrived, I realized it was stuffed with ham and I don't eat pork. The menu didn't clearly mention that it included ham, so that was disappointing. I could've made a big deal out of it, but it was Mother's Day, so I let it go. Still, they really need to be more specific about what's in their dishes. What if someone has allergies and gets seriously sick? I ended up ordering something else, the Turn House burger, which was good. We also ordered the fish & chips, and that was good too. Overall, the food was okay, but nothing amazing. We ordered two desserts: the brownie sundae and the carrot cake. Honestly, they were the worst desserts I've had in a long time. The carrot cake was dry and tasted sugar-free. The brownie was also dry, and you can't really call it a sundae when it only comes with a tiny scoop of ice cream. Overall, this place just isn't good. I went to house last Saturday for brunch. Overall, I enjoyed my experience there. The food and drinks were tasty and the restaurant had classic brunch staples. We started with the crispy shaved brussels sprouts appetizer. They were drizzled with a pomegranate balsamic glaze that was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and its served on a beautiful wooden platter with potatoes and fruit. It was a very popular dish as I saw a few other tables with the same. The waffles were fluffy and chicken was crispy and well seasoned. I got the stuffed French toast and unfortunately, I don't recommend it. The French toast was very thick and fried a bit too hard for my liking and overall it was pretty dry. It didn't seem stuffed with anything. I also got a side of scrambled eggs with cheddar and they were fluffy and very tasty. I imagine their omelettes must be tasty as well. In the future, I'd like to try the dinner menu, particularly in the warmer months. The rear of the restaurant has large windows and a beautiful patio that overlooks a golf course. I went on a chilly Saturday and sat indoors, but I could tell that the patio would make for scenic dining in summer. Mu family and I came here for my Aunts birthday. It was about 11 of us on a Saturday around noon. Our waitress was Nadya and she was so sweet and nice. She made sure to get everyone's orders written down correctly and was always pleasant! She checked on us and if there was an issue she did her best to find a solution as soon as possible. She needs a raise. Lol!! I ordered the shrimp and grits. I also ordered lemon hot tea. When the tea came out mine was not hot neither was my Aunts tea. Nadya was sure to take them back and when we received our next tea pots they were indeed hot. I will say that the food was just, okay! My shrimp and grits left a lot to be desired. The grit cake was not my favorite. We had to cut the grit cake open and then disperse the grits which were a little thick for my liking. The fried part of the grit cake I did not prefer. The shrimp were flavorful and the sauce was a little spicy which I liked as well. Overall, it wasn't bad but I wouldn't order it again. A few people ordered crab cakes and I was able to taste it as well. NO! It was not seasoned well and a little too wet, if that makes sense. Yes, it was lump crab meat but it's definitely not what a Md crab cake should be. My uncle got the old bay wings but they were not fried hard. He was really disappointed. My Aunt whose tea was not hot got the chicken and waffles. She was disappointed. The waffles were not hot and a little dry. My cousin also got chicken and waffles and his presentation was great. The potatoes were crispy but you need to add your own salt because if not, they are bland. His chicken was a little dry, also. I enjoyed this place. I had no idea it was here and it was nestled in a residential neighborhood on a golf course. The inside is a little classic but bright look. There is a lobby/sitting area, main dining area and then a room used for events, and possibly other spaces but that's all I saw. There was a baby shower happening in the event space while we had lunch. We were a party of 6 adults and 1 infant. I can only speak for my food and shared appetizers, but I know everyone enjoyed their meals and we left stuffed. The portions were hearty, especially the chicken and waffles. I had crab dip, tuna tartare, and a Caesar salad. The crab dip had lots of real crab and was seasoned well. I also really liked my other dishes- the Caesar was perfect. My dad treated me to the turn house for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time! They initially seated us outside with the headlamps. The view of the golf course was beautiful, but I was cold. We had to head back in which surprisingly the staff accommodated us no problem. The menu looked great. To be honest, I wanted everything. I settled on the risotto which was delicious. My dad got the lobster roll which was I happily ate along with my risotto. I know my dad was still hungry, but hey it was my birthday. I heard about this brunch spot on social media and had to try it out. It's located on a golf course so the exterior is already beautiful! Plenty of parking near the front door so that was convenient. The restaurant itself was cozy with an older, more classic decor. Our server was Natasha. She was super sweet and gave us some excellent menu recommendations. I couldn't make up my mind what large plate I wanted so I made a meal out of side dishes. The potatoes were my favorite! TOP TIER!! The waffles were fluffy and sweet but a little cold by the time it got to my table. But that was okay. My girlfriends both ordered the chicken and waffles and one of them cleaned her plate. Beautiful restaurant with a great outside area that overlooks the golf course. The food: It was really good! The salmon was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside with a very tender middle. The sauce was a great compliment to the salmon and mashed potatoes. I'm not a fan of buffalo wings; I like other flavors, but they were super crispy (as advertised) and packed with flavor. The kids grilled cheese was on homemade bread. That means they take great care in their bread! A lot of restaurants outsource their bread but not here. They make everything in house and it shows. The frito misto was fine. Nothing to write home about. The service: we sat down at 5:40. We weren't done with dinner until 8:30. That's a really long dinner for Americans. There was some hiccups but I have a feeling they will get it together soon. The food was five stars and the service was more like 3 stars. Starting with the good. The food was delicious. We ordered probably half the menu. Appetizers for happy hour, dinner, and desserts. My personal favorites were the salmon dinner (not pictured) and the watermelon salad. I would go back every time for the food. Unfortunately, the service was non-existent. We could not get the waitress other than once every half hour... our needs were not met. We had to get up from the table multiple times to request things like spoons, waters for our kids, and dinner (not lunch) menus. We had a 5:30 reservation and 2.5 hours later I'm still here. Came to the Turn house for happy hour on a weekday. There were lots of seats at the bar, as well as indoor and outdoor seating options. I liked the peaceful atmosphere and the views of the golf course. They offer modern American foods with a French flair. We ordered the crab dip and it was quite tasty and came out hot and fast. Their happy hour offers $7 drinks and the bartenders made sure our glasses were always full! The bartenders were all attentive and could make anything you want as they have a full bar. Unfortunately this has to be our worse experience at The Turn House in Columbia. My husband and I made reservations. Got there, the hostess (didn't catch her name) was amazing. I asked if there were any seats in the shade outside, she went out to check before taking us with her. We ended up with a great table. We waited about 10 mins or so before our server/ waitress came to us. No problem there as it was a bit busy. She took our drink order, brought us our drinks. At that time we ordered two appetizers. We said we would wait on placing our dinner menu (we knew we were only getting salads so didn't want them to come out too fast). We ordered House Made Focaccia & Crispy Brussels Sprouts. 15-20 mins went by and a gentlemen brought us our appetizers. Well as soon as I saw the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (see attached picture of what we received vs the attached picture of what we should have received or similar). The focaccia was good. The whipped butter it came with had four pieces of whole garlic gloves in it. They were oven roasted, just somehow never got mashed into the butter, not sure. Then we sat for another 15 mins or so and NEVER saw our waitress again. At that point, we were "done". We went inside and spoke to a manager (female, did not get her name). We told her what happened and I showed her the picture of the Brussels sprouts. She wasn't happy. We told her that we had not seen our waitress (yes, I'm not using her name) since she brought our drinks and taking our 1st order over 30 mins ago. She deeply apologized and said she would take care of the bill. We did offer to pay for the drinks and food we ate, as nothing was wrong with that. I only said I wasn't going to leave a tip under the circumstances. She understood, but insisted it was their error and not to worry about it. We said thank you. This is where it should have ended. But for some reason, the manager added, again sorry about XYZ, she got a nose bleed and has been in the bathroom. WTH?!?! I said nothing. My husband and I said OK, and walked out. Had this been true, then I wanted to say to the manger, it's it YOUR job then to see that her tables were being taken care of vs just ghosting us! So if an upper manager is reading this, maybe you need to train the female manager that was on duty Wednesday night. We were at the restaurant between 6:30-7:30ish. read more

summary: went for a Happy Hour to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed the experience from top to bottom. The service was welcoming and friendly and frequently checked in on us throughout the meal to make sure we didn't need anything. There were a decent number of patrons present too, so it was nice not having to worry about tracking down our server. The happy hour is pretty awesome here. There are a ton of drink specials for all palettes (wine, beer, mixed drinks) and a large selection of apps. It was great to have a chance of trying all sorts of small plates and getting kind of a tapas situation while enjoying drinks. The vibe is on the slightly elevated-casual to formal end of things making it perfect for a date night. I am always eager to eat at different establishments and eating here was a first for me. When I walked in the door I saw how beautifully decorated the lounge/seating area was. The colors were warm and the decorations added that extra touch , it reminded me of a staged model home. Once in the dining area itself, I noticed the bar to the left and plenty of tables and chairs for patrons. Since i was meeting a friend, I didn't need any assistance to the table but once I got to the table by the window, I was able to see a nice patio and a golf course. Server- Diana was extremely pleasant and polite, sharing what was on the menu with a smile along with making sure there wasn't anything we needed. Food/Drink- Well by now you know I love a good classic margarita. It was okay but nothing to really brag about. I had a ceasar salad with a piece of salmon. I must say, I wasn't impressed. I have been here several times which prompted me to take my favorite SIL here for her birthday (Sat., 8/2/25) and The Turn House, once again, did not disappoint. FABULOUS service, food, ambience. The view of the golf course will never get old. Our server, Eshal was awesomely, attentive. She arranged (unprompted) for a dessert to be presented to my SIL in honor of her birthday. Our starters (Mezze board and Maggie's crab dip) and entrees (Maine lobster roll and Korean crispy wings) were respectable. I don't eat crabs or lobster but my SIL enjoyed her choices. I wasn't a fan of the Korean Wing flavor but that was my fault ... I should have stuck with what I knew (the Honey-Old Bay). My SIL ordered the Purple Rain mocktail which was super cute and declared tasty by her standards. I just stayed light and fluffy with Chardonnay. Our $200 bill took me by surprise as we ordered from the brunch menu butttt this was not a deal breaker. I am definitely a fan of The Turn House so will absolutely return because I haven't even scratched the surface of their expansive drink, brunch, lunch or dinner menus! Just for starters - the chicken and waffles seemed to be a fan fav today and I also need to try the smoked salmon Benedict platter. So, clearly a future visit is on my radar. I come here about 3 times a month as this is the only restaurant for 19th hole. It's not the clubhouse. This restaurant is a separate entity from Hobbits Glen Golf Club. The food is pretty good but it is little over price. Because the view is nice overlooking hole 1 and 9, you are paying for that view. They do have a good selection of HH. I highly recommend trying HH first. Service can be really slow at times due to short staffing. read more

I got the Crab Cake Sandwich, two friends got the Fried Chicken Sandwich and one friend got the Steak Salad with a cup of crab and corn chowder. I have to say when it's a vendor dinner, can't give any bad gripes about the place. Appetizers were wings and cheese dip. What a meal and I ordered the crab cakes with string beans and potatoes. It was delicious. Never had I seen crab cakes that delicious and portioned largely. My peer had the steak and that too looks amazing. Love the wine/mix cocktail service and the view of the golf driving range. I had the cheese cake and peer had the bread pudding. Wow dessert KO-ed me for the rest of the night. They brought me a cold, weirdly stale sandwich with a salad that literally looked like it had been sitting in the fridge for a couple weeks. We arrived just as they opened at 11am so reservations were not needed. * Setting is beautiful with indoor or a beautiful outdoor patio. We all just had salads but it took a lengthy time to come out. * Beet salads- no surprises and unremarkable in presentation but was freshly made with golden and red beets. I did not see the pumpkin seeds or dried cranberries as described but there were pistachios nuts and it was tasteful enough and nicely tossed in their Apple cider vinaigrette. I just wish there was more to this salad, it was not very large. * Classis Caesar salad- generously portioned and my friend had no complaints about its taste. * Blueberry Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice cream- this was shared and enjoyed by the 3 of us. It was delicious with fresh blueberries sauce as a topping. Forgot to take a picture before it was eaten. * As others have mentioned the menu is changed based on availability of seasonal ingredients. The entryway lobby is were welcoming and the host was very kind. We were seated immediately (had reservations) and greeted by our server Bella who was simply fabulous! We really felt ignored as the bartenders seemed more interested is speaking to regulars. We finally ordered and food came quickly. I had the duck and was disappointed. It was cooked well but bland. Beet salad was good but a little too much dressing. The greens were soggy. Service was pretty quick (on a Sunday @5:30/6pm). Ambiance is alright just like a neighborhood bar with some tables overlooking the 9th hole. Pretty small inside- the outdoor space looked nicer. I had lunch yesterday with friends outside on the terrace overlooking the golf course. Everything was perfect until my lunch arrived. I was so disappointed in my crab cake and coleslaw. The $30 crab cake was stringy, mushy and lacked any lump crab meat. It actually didn't taste like a crab cake. Also, my coleslaw has no flavor, it' was very bland. It's such a lovely setting, and it's a shame your food doesn't match the quality of the atmosphere. Normally I would say something during my meal, but I was with a group of friends, and didn't want to put a damper on our gathering. I recently visited The Turn House for a company party/luncheon. Underwhelmed is an understatement. To start, most of the food was bad. Past the appetizers, which were pretty standard cheese, meats, and vegetables plus shrimp cocktail and spring rolls there weren't enough of, the main course dishes were off. The "crispy brussel sprouts" were soggy and had such a sweet sauce on them, they were inedible. The potatoes were underseasoned and either too mushy or too hard. I did enjoy the salmon, it was the one standout. To add to that, the service was bad IMO. The attending waitress never cleared my plates, despite picking up the empty plates of people around me (and my plate was empty and set to the side for collection). She was unfailing polite to everyone and ignored me. I'd stacked 2 empty Diet Coke cans, and she finally did take those away, but was so huffy about it, I felt she had some personal issue with me despite never having met me before. We had an event for about 40 people at the Turn House and it could not have been nicer! The food was spectacular- appetizers were delicious and the buffet was outstanding. We chose the crabcakes and beef tenderloin (which was served at all different temperatures to please everyone). Unexpectedly, the potatoes and green beans were delightful. I have never liked buffets but I think this was better than any plated meal I've had at events. Our guests are still talking about it! A big thanks to Denise for guiding us to perfect selections and helping plan the little details. Kevin and his staff were attentive and so pleasant. No detail was too small: whatever we wanted. We had not chosen a non- alcoholic beer for our bar, but when a guest asked for one a box was brought in and one was delivered to his table. The bartender even left the bar to get a cup of coffee for a guest with difficulty walking. Cat made sure all of my requests were handled (even my special golf picks were added to the appetizers) and she made everyone feel welcome. It was a lovely space and fit our group perfectly with room to mingle. We were especially looking for the golf theme and it certainly fit that bill. I decided to throw a surprise 30th birthday for my boyfriend this last Saturday at the restaurant. I rented a room for 19 people and the price was reasonable. I appreciated the fact that they change their menu regularly per the seasons so it's not always the same dishes. There was a lot to choose from a great helping of food. For appetizers, I whole heartedly recommend the crab dip. We also ordered the fried chicken wings which tasted okay. You then had a choice of house or Caesar salad and for the entrees a filet mignon, hen, salmon or burger. When designing the menu, the packages allowed for 4 possible entrees for the menu so that was nice. Desserts were both delicious, we had the option for cheesecake or blueberry bread pudding which both tasted great. Overall I was really happy with how the event turned out. I would say if anything service needed to be slightly more attentive as we needed several water refills and it felt like there was a delay with this. read more

Recently visited The Turn House for dinner with my family. It's actually situated right next to a golf course so we sat outside to watch the golfers and take in the views. The outdoor seating had a really nice, quiet ambiance. The service was great. Attentive servers and the food came out fast. We tried a charcuterie board and while the selection was decent for 5 people, I felt like the different charcuterie items looked a bit sparse in comparison to the gigantic board it comes on - the board itself took up nearly the entire table. I think I prefer to have a dish come out looking like it's abundant instead of lacking. also wish it had come with crackers or bread instead of the toasted pita (I think that's what it was). The pita was just a bit hard to chew. The menu isn't extensive, but the food seems fairly priced for the portion that you receive. The food itself could have used more flavor in my opinion. I ordered the chicken Chesapeake and it came with green beans and mashed potatoes. The dish wasn't bad but I tasted mainly butter and cheese - the crab wasn't prominent and the green beans had no salt or pepper or anything. My family members also said their dishes were so-so.
