This is the most horrible tutoring center I've signed my daughter to go to. She told me that they always rushed her on her homework and was always so strict. My daughter has been to this center for about a month now. Her sessions are twice a week. Jason and the staff are very professional and can be very accommodating to flexible schedules with advanced notice. They are really good with their time management during their tutoring sessions. Jason's response time to questions and concerns are quick. The initial meeting was very simple. My daughter took an assessment and Jason when over the results and discussed the best placement for her. My daughter does need the one to one instruction or small group due to her learning needs and this was the best place for it. My daughter has been a struggled learner with inattentive ADHD. It is very difficult for her to retain information and I have noticed a difference with her in processing information and her academics. She has picked up some learning strategies that I know she wasn't getting from me or her school. She dreads reading, but I have noticed that she is independently looking at her surroundings and trying to read words more. She is blending and chunking words a lot better since she has started at this center. When she is reading I noticed that she is actually using context clues and making inferences about what she is reading. She also comments about her tutors outside of the center, which is really positive for me to see and hear because when a child talks about their school day, it shows that they are being engaged and intrinsically motivated. My daughter enjoys coming here and she loves the incentives they provide. read more

The tutoring center is so wonderful 1) Jessica is so easy to work with and accommodating 2) Tutors are smart and good with the students My son has learning disability and tutors are patient and have methods to teach him. My son recently score 90% on two of his common core unit tests recently. He also gets tutored in reading as well. Thanks tutoring center for your great service. Well worth the money. For the service & overall feel of the center & staff so far, I have to give this place 5 stars. I've searched for and researched many tutoring/enrichment centers, even tried a few of them-but I was never really comfortable with the curriculum. From the moment I first met with the center's director, Jessica, she made me feel comfortable that her best interest was making sure the students in her center are all academically successful. Although she already put together a curriculum for my son, when I presented my concerns to her she was more than willing to adjust the curriculum to something that was more suitable for his problem subjects. It's a two student to one tutor setting so my son gets the attention when and where he needs it. I often ask him how his tutoring sessions are and he always has positive things to say! He even looks forward to going!! If you're looking for a tutoring center this is the place! Yes, the center is small but I feel the bigger the center the less they can focus on your child. Jessica is always easily reached via email and happy to answer any questions or concerns that I have. She also corresponds with my son's teacher which is a huge plus! Not to mention the tuition is reasonable. It's about the same as any other center, but this one has excellent customer service and did I mention they really focus on the kids? I signed up my daughter at Tutoring Center in Milpitas; it turned out it is the best fit for my daughter. At first she went to 2x a week for math tutoring, then we increased to 3x a week to maximize the learning. My daughter was able to bring up her math grade in school!!! My daughter was having problems with reading and naturally when a teacher tells a parent that their child needs additional help with a subject/s you want to do everything in your power to help them. So I did everything from flash cards to Hooked on Phonics. And after a few months thinking I could do it on my own I knew I had to change things up. While her reading was okay, her comprehension was becoming a major problem and the both of us were beyond frustrated! I called around to a few places and after finding The Tutoring Center and meeting with Jessica I knew that this was the place for us. One thing that I really love about The Tutoring Center is the stations. Each child/teen spends a certain amount of time at one station and moves on to the next station for another period of time which is really helpful for kids that have attention deficit problems. And this is regardless if they're diagnosed with ADD/ADHD or not. After her first week at The Tutoring Center my daughter's teacher commented on her vast improvement saying how she raises her hand a lot more and sees how much her confidence level has gone up. My daughter is going on her 2nd month now and has caught up to the reading level she needs to be at. I am very grateful to Ms. Jessica and Ms. Vanessa for all their hard work. They both collaborated on my daughter's educational plan and came up with different ways that she would learn best, as every student learns things differently. I'm so grateful for The Tutoring Center for it has certainly paid off for my daughter. IF YOUR CHILD/TEEN NEEDS HELP I WOULD CALL THE TUTORING CENTER RIGHT AWAY. I want to write another review for the Tutoring Center in Milpitas because I am extremely pleased with the result I received for my son. Two months ago, I enrolled my 5yr. old son to this place in hopes that he will be able to learn to read and write short sentences before he takes an assessment test at Milpitas Montessori for Kindergarten. This school is academically advanced and I felt that my son is not quite ready as the teachers expects him to read and write short sentences prior to Kindergarten. Sure enough, my son took his assessment test today and is placed in UPPER Kindergarten (this means he scored above average in reading, writing and math). I owe it all to the a Tutoring Center in Milpitas. This place works wonders!!! My son is now able to read a book with simple words and sentences and he is able to write short sentences. He improved his math skills as well. He is still currently attending pre-k and is excited to be in Kindergarten! I am also helping him practice reading by borrowing books such as Dr. Seuss books at the library and spending time reading with him. Thank you so much to Ms. Jessica and Ms. Kristy who have been teaching my son dedicatedly. I am very lucky to have found this place and to have met you both! When you find a great small business, you clutch it for dear life and support it. The Tutoring Center in Milpitas could be like any other franchise learning center, but when you deal with a caring and knowledgeable owner like Jessica, the warmth of her business really shines through. My daughter was falling behind in math and my son needed to get prepped for the upcoming school year. At the last session, I arrived a little early to pick them up, and overheard both of them yelling out each answer excitedly and high fiving their instructors. My son saw me and thought it was time to go, but the tutors were having so much fun teaching them that they made them stay and finish their work till the last second of time had expired. The Tutoring Center in Milpitas is a clean and well run establishment. The tutors are engaging and are inspired to help every child improve and reach their potential. I am a parent and I am very happy with The Tutoring Center services. My son gets tutored in reading, writing, math and common core math concepts. The tutors are smart, patient and flexible. My child no longer dread studying. He improved his reading comprehension and his focus. This is one busy place and many students come here to get tutored. I had to get a last minute tutor to help me complete an online college class so that I would be permitted to enroll in the fall. Jackie went out of her way to help me, coming to meet me after her regular work hours and really making sure I understood the material and what I was doing. A real amazing, helpful and kind tutor who totally saved my butt by agreeing to tutor me such short notice! This tutoring center is filled with knowledgeable tutors/instructors that truly do care for the students. Prior to enrolling your child, an assessment is conducted first by the Center Director, Jessica. The assessment is quite different from the others that I've been to. This is an orchestrated one-on-one in person assessment to cover reading fluency, reading comprehension and math. I know this because I was sitting outside the office listening! The others that I have been to and seen only gives paper placements and they're not personal like the way Jessica does it. The best part is being able to meet with Jessica right after the placement to discuss the results. Jessica is very straight forward with what she thinks is best for the child, even if it's not here at The Tutoring Center, she will make recommendations as to what's the most appropriate place to send your child to seek academic help. She even told me that my child didn't need private tutoring like the way The Tutoring Center does it (1-on-1 or 1-on-2). But I still think it's worth a try. One month in and so far, so good. read more

The way they tutors explain things to me makes me really understand the material that i've been learning in school but just in a simpler way that I can comprehend. Hello! I was a tutor at The Tutoring Center for almost 2 years. And I could not have asked for a better boss. Jessica is one of the nicest, most honest people you will ever meet. I was hired to work with little kids at first, and slowly moved towards the higher up math kids. Those kids were my life. Their smile was so contagious and I loved being there and teaching them with all of my heart. The younger kids were just amazing and so much fun to be around. The older kids were a blessing. To be able to share your advice with a group of kids that needed it and are around the same age as you is just enlightening. Knowing that they looked up to you, you tried to be the best role model possible for them. My co-workers were the best. I found myself making connections and being such good friends with all of them. We were one big family! We got our schedules on Sunday, and you usually knew your schedule because it was fixed to your availability. Jessica was very flexible with us, incase we had a really big test or a family emergency, she was able to work with our schedule. Jessica was my boss, my role model, my mentor, my friend, and so much more. She was always there with advice for me. And I'll miss working with her more than anything! read more

The director, Jessica, is very knowledgeable about current learning trends (she was already looking into Common Core before it was widely adopted) and is very kind and flexible as well. I have always been impressed with the tutors--they are friendly, professional, patient, and relate really well to the kids. The overall atmosphere of the center is like that of a good classroom. Learning is taking place while still being low-stress and fun. We took a break from math tutoring for awhile, but my younger son's grades began to suffer, so when we were looking to resume tutoring, this was the only place I considered. read more
