PEL is a great place to study. The teachers there are extremely helpful with subjects like Math and English. My son was a grade behind and was having a hard time reading and writing when he was at kindergarten. His kinder teacher was suggesting I repeat his kindergarten year. When he came in to take an assessment last march, he could not read or write any simple words. But now, after 11 months at PEL he is 1 year above his grade level. He is in 1st grade now and he is helping other kids in his class as well if they are stuck. We are so glad that we didn't keep him one more year in kindergarten. Not only that, he scored pretty good above on his latest iReady at school. We are so happy of my son's achievement and grateful for all the excellent work that PEL staff has provided. He will continue with PEL and keep improving.Ms. Lisa is so kind and nice and she's the best teacher we ever met. Amazing! I ran into the center's head at a camp fair and decided to send my son to PEL afterschool program. He was a grade behind and was having a hard time reading and writing . I highly recommend PEL after school programs! The teachers are patient, kind, and knowledgeable, and they really take the time to make sure the students understand and master the concepts before moving to the next stage. I got referred by one of my friends and I feel so lucky to have my daughter join their after school program. The teachers are so patience and knowledgeable. Their enrichment programs are interesting and help children excel in their academic. This center not only teaching kids in academic, but also training them how to self-study, self discipline, self motivated and that prepare them for a lifetime of academic success. Any words is not enough to express my appreciation to PEL Ms. Wang for her experienced and professionalism in teaching! My daughter is in college and applying to UCs, all of her college courses are all "A" except failed in math class. I searched and luckily found PEL Ms. Wang's in person class for my daughter. Ms. Wang spent huge effort and hard work teaching my daughter; after took Ms. Wang's in person class, my daughter math significantly improved and test result are all "A" in quiz and finals which helped my daughter math grade from " failed" back to "pass" and just received multiple UCs' admission acceptance recently! I can't say enough about this little school. We found it by an online search and pure luck. The director explained their philosophy of building confidence and skills to lay a solid foundation. The environment was friendly and supportive. The math teacher greeted my child the first day with "you're going to have fun here and make a lot friends." This review is ONLY for their summer program as I believe their tutoring program would be WAY more beneficial. Lisa is so nice and I had hoped that she would be around to give some tips to help my daughter's math. I put my daughter in the summer session to help her math/writing skills but she came back after 4 weeks said she learned nothing because she's just given worksheets every day. Tutors hardly came by, if she did something wrong they just tell her to correct it. Mainly the tutors were busy w/ the younger ones. If that were the case I could've just gave her work books instead. These people are running aftercare without permits. They also had beyond 5x students than permitted in their tuition room. There was an impromptu check by authorities, it was found out they have broken multiple rules. They even had kindergartens in a non-permitted facility. We were there when Fire department official were running the checks. Even she was shocked when Lisa still kept telling lies to parents and didn't admit that they knowingly broke the laws . May be in the hope that no-one will catch it . Take out your kids asap. I hope this place shuts down forever . read more

Lisa and the PEL program are a resource to the community. Her program caters to my child, who finds her school classes too easy. Within her school she's limited in difficulty to the material declared on the class' syllabus. However as the PEL program is individualized to each student, my daughter is able to progress at a more rapid pace. With PEL my daughter is able to learn concepts years above her grade level, giving her an unfair advantage at school. When she is teaching the children, she pours her heart out and make sure that your kids are learning. The center and the teacher tells the story of the teaching quality.
