My 1st grader has been attending the tutoring center for a few months now and the level he is studying here is surprising. I reviewed the materials he is solving, and it's definitely ahead of what I thought he was capable of. He was writing letters in mirrors images pretty recently, but the stuff in the workbook here that he was reading and writing reminded me of PSAT (for those old enough to remember those) . Of course, to do these, he needs attention and guidance from a teacher at a much lower ratio than what we can get from school, and here, it's kept at about 2 students per teacher. Being a fidgety flighty 6 yr old boy (hopefully normal?) I don't know how much he learns in his school class of 26 kids and I don't have the skills to teach him myself so I started sending him here for professional help twice a week to make sure he doesn't fall behind. Looks like mission is being accomplished so far! And most importantly, he enjoys learning here, which made it part of our weekly routine now. They offer a free assessment, where the student takes a test and they come back with analysis on the student's level and recommendations. It's a nice computer printout that Mr. Chow goes over with you. And then you can decide to enroll or not, and how often to attend and what times you'd like. It was a nice way to get started, as well as probably the first time I got my child assessed on anything. Thankfully he tested slightly above his grade level, but upon examining the questions, I did notice it would've resulted differently had we not done a few reading sessions on our own just the week prior to the assessment, as the vocab tests were specific. So it's not perfect, but still a really useful experience for the child and the parent! read more

After my 2nd daughter attended different tutoring location, I found that the program that the Tutoring utilizes doesn't it translate well for older kids ( Jr High). The focused curriculum that follows what is taught at the school is impactful in the learning and grade. I signed my 5 year old girl up for some extra help in reading about a month ago. She's super bright but her public school kinder class had a lot of kids and with 26 kids per class, she just didn't get the guidance needed to become a confident reader in school. This took all the stress out of having to catch her up for what she should have been taught in her kinder class. Her reading and writing is improving so we plan to keep taking her here as long as she is enjoying it and improving. They do have a nice waiting room for the parents. I admit, I never thought I'd become a stereotypical Asian tiger mom, but I think I am. We aren't sure if our 6-year old daughter is at the academic level that she should be at since we don't have anything to measure her against. We want to make sure she is doing well going into first grade and that there aren't any learning disabilities we aren't aware of, so we took her to the Tutoring Center for a free assessment. Our daughter was apprehensive when we told her we're taking her in for a test. She wanted to cover her face as she was walking in. However, all her fear and anxiety was gone shortly after the owner Tony and his wife Sandra greeted us. They were so good with our daughter, making her feel at ease immediately. Sandra took her in and started the assessment while Tony sat outside with me during the assessment. Tony explained to me in detail the tests being done on our daughter, and what to expect if we decide to sign her up afterward. He was very patient in answering all my questions about the center and the qualifications of the tutors. The assessment took about an hour. When my daughter came out, she was bouncing around with a free toy she had earned like nothing had happened. I took her to lunch while the results were being analyzed. When we returned, Tony, Sandra, and their head instructor Mike sat down with me and my daughter. They showed me her test results and explained the methodology behind the tests and the scores. Most importantly, we uncovered that our daughter felt the teacher at school was going too fast sometimes for her, and that her classmates were too noisy for her sometimes to focus. Those are invaluable information that we can communicate to her school and to her teacher to aid in her learning. They also recommended the tutoring program best suited for our daughter based on the results, with pricing information clearly spelled out so there are no surprises. The tutoring center has been AWESOME since day one! Anthony was very informative and caring of my son's needs. After his complimentary evaluation he was placed in the reading program. Our 5-year old wanted to go to Kumon since she was 4, but since we didn't agree 100% with Kumon method, we kept looking at different tutoring/enrichment programs. We found The Tutoring Center and set up an appointment for a free diagnostic assessment. Through this assessment, we discovered that our daughter is weaker in math. The program is structured in a way that kids will get both English and math. Since she's in Kindergarten (so, she is not yet behind), she was placed in the enrichment class and her sessions are more focused on math since it is her weaker area. This is exactly the concept we have been looking for...the program that is structured, but yet, flexible enough to tailor to our daughter's needs. The place is clean and very kid-friendly. My husband and I were very pleased with the service that our 4 year old daughter received. We took her for an assessment, to see where she is at in preparation for kindergarten. The assessment and consultation is free! That was huge for us since other place's we've checked out charge. The assessment is in person, at first I was a little nervous about it, but I felt more comfortable when we arrived. We met with Sandra and Tony they are super nice and very professional. They have their protocols in place to ensure everyone's safety. I really appreciate it that. Another thing we really liked from them was their patience, my daughter was a little hesitant at first and didn't wan to go in, but Sandra was really nice and sweet and was able to gain my daughter's trust that made her comfortable to go in. That was a big plus for me. After, we had the option to set a Zoom meeting for the consultation. It was very informative and helpful. They showed us where my daughter needs a little bit of work and the areas that she is strong in. They covered all of our questions and concerns we had. I found the tutoring center while doing a search on Google. I read the reviews and was impressed. I then took my son for the free assessment and was able to see his current level. Mr. Chow thoroughly explained the program and the options available. He took the time to explain the results of the testing and listened to my concerns. My son has improved greatly ever since enrolling in the reading comprehension program. He never wanted to read aloud to anyone but 3 months after starting the tutoring center, he for the first time on his birthday felt proud and confident enough to read all of his birthday cards in front of his whole family. His confidence has improved and he so much less frustrated. He is now passed his 2nd grade level after being behind and struggling for a little bit. The school was recommending retention but after enrolling him in the tutoring center, the teacher noticed the improvement and said there was no need too anymore. I am very pleased with the tutoring that my 12 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter have been recieving for past 3 months. I discovered the Tutoring Center when I noticed that my son's school performance was slipping. Tony was very patient and informative in explaining the program to me. After the free diagnostic assessments, I have a much better understanding about my children's academic strength and also areas that needed improvement. Tony was able to point out my children's individual characteristic after observing them during the 1hour diagnostic assessment, which were all right on. My children have late tutoring session time from 6:30-7:30pm. I was surprised that they can stay focus for 1 hour late in the day and enjoying the sessions as well. They like all the teachers. Tony and Sandra have made the place very friendly and welcoming for my children and me. Recently, I had the 20-weeks review with Tony. I am happy with my children's improvement and progress.
