I went to Udder Bar today to get two quarts of ice cream to go. I knew the two flavors I needed. There appeared to be one server, so I waited patiently behind a family of three taste-testing multiple flavors. A man had come in AFTER me. When another server appeared she immediately waited on the man who was purchasing 5 gift cards and the two chatted quite a bit. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting. I finally say I was in line next, waiting patiently behind the family and this man gets waited on first. The server tells me she's the "manager", no name tag so who knows.My receipt says the server is Max K,maybe that's her name. When I complained and asked if there was a manager, she had a snarky grin when she said she said she was the manager. Terrible service. Why would the person waiting patiently in line,also have to wait for someone who entered after them to be served. My visit was today 3/2/26 at 4:21 p.m. check # 37, if anyone cares. We tried Mangonada last time we were here. Mangonada is mango water ice with Chamoy drizzled through it and Tajin spice sprinkled on top, giving good flavor. Frozen banana dipped in chocolate from their freezer was very good. In the past we have tried cinnamon roll ice cream, sweet potato ice cream, pistachio ice cream and waffle taco with pumpkin ice cream, chopped peanuts and hot fudge. Found this place while in town and took the kids to get some ice cream. The store is super cute and I was very excited to find a nostalgic item on the menu for me - Dusty Road. I of course ordered the Dusty Road, but was a little disappointed when I started eating it since it had peanuts on it (not something I remembered). So I went back up to the counter to ask if that was something that should have been in the sundae and they said no and was going to re-make it for me right away. I was so surprise on how quick they offered to fix it (I honestly was just asking so I knew if my memory had failed me). I was super happy with the replacement and the ice cream was so creamy and delicious. The kids had a scoop of ube ice cream, cookies and cream ice cream, and a waffle sandwich with cappuccino ice cream. The scoops were large, but they ate almost the entire portion and said it was delicious and really enjoyed it. The scoopers were all smiles and having a good time helping the line of customers. If you hire 12 year olds you'll get 12 year old service. This place is staff'ed by 5 middle school girls being led by a 9th grader. They cannot handle it. There will literally be a line out the door and when you finally get in you see why. The girls have no hustle , no concept of customer service. They move the same speed if you're alone or there is 14 people inside. This is why fast food restaurants also have terrible service. Teenagers that don't care. Hot day in Allentown today, not familiar with the area and wanting a strawberry shake, this is the 3rd establishment I tried today. The other 2 had issues. Nice clean place and good selection of ice cream. The staff didn't seem all that enthusiastic to be here today. A young Asian girl took my order, she was very nice and accommodating. Pricing seemed weird and confusing, I guess hand scooping is more expensive than, ---- what???? The strawberry shake, pesto bismol in color had too much artificial strawberry flavoring giving the shake an off taste. With all that is going on with Covid I'm just glad they are open, and fully understand how difficult it must be for a small business to reopen, much less be able to open at all, so on that note, I'll just say thank you, and get down the road. read more
