I purchased a month long tanning package for around $140. I was not satisfied with the equipment and spoke with the employee before turning on the bed. She assured me that it may look old, but the bulbs are new. I reluctantly used one session that day, and decided it was not up to standard. I asked to cancel and was told "it's a process", and someone would cobtact me. When this didn't happen, I called the next day to no avail, so i went into the salon. The young man working was extremely rude, and just kept saying a manager would call me. I told him at that point it was no acceptable, he was unprofessional but did call the manager. I was told to wait while she "did the math". When I received my refund i was told i was charged over $61 for my ONE session I used and a sample packet of tanning lotion. I was willing to pay for both, but to charge the most expensive rate they have for that bed was diabolical under the circumstance. I still have not received a call back as I requested, but I did receive an email saying not to come back! I won't! There are plenty of other salons in the area with new equipment, friendly staff, and managers, that charge 1/3 of what this dump does. Avoid at all costs. read more

Ultimate Tan has two locations in Peoria that one can use interchangeably. The other reviewer covered most of the details but I'd like to add a review of the Ultra Bronze here. The pricing is high, even on a special sale about $15 per tan, but you don't burn and three 1/2 hour sessions make a person really dark. I don't like to tan often, for health and time reasons so this is an excellent option. read more

Horrible customer service! Went in and cancelled our membership because I saw we were still being charged, even though account was supposedly already closed. I was told account was just on a temporary freeze. I stated we were not told about such freeze. Was told that pending amounts would be stopped, and I would not be charged. Very next day, go into my account and see they were taken out of my account anyway. Called them and they backtracked and said there was nothing they could do. So basically, I was lied to just so I would leave the store. If I were you, I would find myself another tanning salon over Ultimate Tan. I would rate this place zero stars if I could! read more

I like this place. They have a coupon online where new customers can get 4 free tans for free. They charge 18.88$ a month with a 37$ registration fee. You can prepay and get the fee waived. The basic package has 4 options for beds. You can pay more and get upgrades. There beds are good and get the job done. They have a fan and 3 radio stations you can listen to while you tan. They supply a small towel and goggles for you every time. Open 7 days a week, no appointment needed. read more

This tanning salon is horrible. They do not take care of their equipment. It is extremely run down and most of the beds barely even tan. There are a couple that work well like bed number one and 2. Of course bed 1 is broken. Bed 2 for OVER A MONtH has had at least one or more bulbs out. This place is HORRIBLY OVERPRICED. I pay 61 a month but that's with a 50 percent discount for signing a 6 month contract. It would cost me over 100 a month without the discount. To use broken, and wore down beds? I've said something about bed number 2 having bulbs out over 5 times!!! Over the course of a month!!! Absolutely ridiculous. The lotion is also horribly priced. 46 dollars for the cheapest one and that's with my 20% off all lotion with my membership. My contract is up in a month. I will not tan here anymore. Have some pride in your business!!! Oh wait the owners are never there. I asked for them and was told they never come in here. WORST TANNING SALON EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't come here. I've been a loyal customer at the barring trace location in peoria for over 15 years. Today, I went in to "unfreeze" my account and get some tanning in before my vacation. The girl who checked me in seemed inconvenienced by my prescence in the salon from the start and was very rude the entire time she checked me in. So much so, in fact, that I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I tan to relax, like many others often do, however cannot do this in a place where the staff isnt even polite, let alone kind or "friendly staff" as the establishment advertises. I would certainly go to the location on Baring Trace VS. the location on Sheridan. MUCH better customer service, and I feel as though the beds are higher quality. I have had the same associate sign me up and check me in for 3 consecutive visits, and found her rude each time. I will be driving twice as far to avoid her, now, because tanning is a privilege, and I expect it to be a pleasant one. read more
