I want to start by saying, the venue is beautiful, the preferred vendors are great to work with, and the venue coordinator is very responsive and helpful leading up to your wedding. Our world shut down in Texas 3 weeks before our wedding date. I am giving The Union 1 star due to the fact that they were not willing to refund out deposits. I had to cancel my wedding due to Covid-19, as my fiancé's side is all from New York. On April 2nd, 2020, everything, including The Union, shut down. Based on the contract, this should have fallen into Force Majeure, for which I should have received all monies paid. However, I because I decided to hold onto the last large lump sum of my remaining balance, I "broke contract" and they will not be giving my any refund. Thank God I didn't pay the remaining balance because they would have kept that too. To be fair, The Union did offer to let us reschedule the wedding date at not cost, but given the current state of the country and travel restrictions, it's not worth the risk of endangering my loved ones. We would have considered rebooking when/if things got better, but the venue does not hold the same feeling it once did. read more

Bree showed us some cool and unique gifts (one for you, one for me) while we sipped amazing wine! The wine selection is unique, you won't find anyplace else on the square. My better half is so-so on wines, so the Bizzarro Spritz an excellent alternative! We learned a lot from Michael about their wine selections and Marissa clued us in on the charcuterie choices. Relaxing in this spacious indoor/outdoor venue is a find, the best. Good food, good wine, good shopping with super friendly people, it's a great addition to our community! My husband Marque and I were married here on October 25th, 2014. When we first toured the venue, it was not complete but the bones of this building were strong and it had so much character. When we met with Justin he was warm, accommodating, and full of suggestions. He wanted our day to be just as amazing as we wanted it to be and worked with us every step of the way to ensure we had everything we needed. We also made the decision to utilize Sweet Sunday Events and I cannot begin to tell you how many changes (adding on plates, taking off plates, adding linens, changing out linens, etc) I threw his way and he was so patient and flexible with any request that we had. When I walked in on our wedding day, my jaw was just on the floor. I couldn't believe all of the work and love that was put into the space and it truly shows. When we were planning our wedding we really didn't consider a venue outside of Austin. However, after viewing many different venues we quickly realized that what we were looking for (a modern/warehouse style venue w/ outdoor options) was not really available, especially in our budget. I happened to see an ad for The Union on Eighth that looked promising, so we drove out to Georgetown to take a look. It was exactly what we were looking for and at a price we could work with! It was definitely worth the short drive to Georgetown. Justin was super helpful and scheduled several times for us to stop by and plan things out in the space. Rachel assisted us and our vendors day-of, and she was very helpful! The venue was beautiful on it's own and didn't need much as far as decorating goes. The tables and chairs were included. It did end up raining on our wedding day (changing our plans for an outdoor ceremony), but the option to open the glass garage door to the outside made for a great backdrop during our indoor ceremony. By far the best all-in-one venue spaces ever! Early on in our engagement, we knew wanted an intimate wedding attended by friends and family. Since our families live all over Texas, we decided to have a pseudo destination wedding and looked for a neutral Texas town loaded with small-town charm. Union's urban-industrial vibe nestled near the Georgetown Square blended historical character with modern day sophistication. It was perfect. We held our ceremony outdoors under the trees, had our cocktail hour in the courtyard near the outdoor airstream, and our reception in the main hall. Our guests didn't have to leave and, with valet parking included, our guests were well taken care of. We're convinced that Union on 8th is a magical space and we highly recommend it! read more

Disclaimer - I have not had my event here yet (getting married in November!), but have had multiple interactions with and visits to the Union on Eighth. The folks that run this place are some of the nicest vendors I've ever worked with. They are simply good people. They've structured their business in a way that provides a seamless, easy experience without breaking the bank. For example, they have tables and chairs, and a crew to move them for you at your event. They have free valet parking for each of their events. They don't have pointless rules about what you can and can't throw at the bride and groom. They also do not require you to work with their handpicked vendors, which allows for a customized, affordable event experience. We couldn't be happier that we chose the Union to host our event in November. I'll update this review after the event. read more

It's like an east side show room speak easy feel. We created the most beautiful vintage feel for our reception. The Union on Eighth is such a unique and beautiful venue!! We had our wedding reception at The Union on April 14, 2018 and it was absolutely perfect!! We're still receiving compliments on how much everyone loved the venue! The neat ceilings and pretty courtyard were two of the big hits. I personally loved the farm style tables, they made the space feel and look welcoming to all. Katy is so sweet and was always communicative, quick to respond, and helpful answering my many questions. The manager on site the night of our wedding was also great. The complimentary valet parking service was very helpful and worked wonderfully for our guests. I hope I can attend future events at The Union, it's such a breathtaking venue!! read more

I visited this venue for a wedding this past weekend and it was beautiful. It has two courtyards and an indoor area. The wedding just happened to be on a beautiful day, so the venue worked out perfectly. I'm not sure what the venue used to be, but it is clearly a refurbished building. I loved the antique, hill country feel of it. I really don't have too much to say in my review due to the fact that it wasn't my wedding. However, as a guest, I thought it was really pretty and with the sunny, 70 degree weather, the day was perfect. read more

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Union on Eighth. This space is breathtaking. We hardly used any decoration, because the space looks so great. All of our pictures came out amazingly. I could not be happier about the space. During the planning process, I had some trouble getting in touch with Justin, but everything came together fine on the day of. I cannot say enough good things about The Union on Eighth. I live in Houston but I am originally from Georgetown and had no idea this venue existed until I started looking when I got engaged last year. It is such a gem in downtown Georgetown. The space is obviously beautiful, open, and super cool, but more than that, it is run by an amazing couple. My wedding went so smoothly because Justin and Katy made sure we had whatever we needed. They are the chillest, nicest people and made the entire process from day one easy and fun. We also rented our dishes, silverware, napkins, etc. from A to Z Rentals, which Justin and Katy also run and operate. Justin also pointed me in the right direction when I was looking for outdoor sound equipment for my friends who were playing during the ceremony - Kenz guitar, also a local staple in Georgetown. During all of the wedding planning everyone asked me how stressed out I was, and I can honestly say the whole process was super fun and not stressful at all and I give a lot of that credit to working with such a great team at The Union. For anyone interested in The Union, or maybe you're on the fence about it, don't hesitate. You will not find a better place, especially for the price. Not to mention, it's in downtown Georgetown which is such a pretty place and easy for guests to get to. Anyway, I love The Union, use it for your wedding, you won't regret it! read more

We had our wedding here on May 17. We booked the venue while it was still under construction because we saw the vision that Justin and Katy had for the place. Things moved a little slow like all construction but we saw it come together at the end of the year. By the time our event came around the place looked fantastic. There's a little kitchen area with a large fridge. The bathrooms are fantastic and people wanted to hang out in there. A nicely partitioned seating area allows you to have a space to get ready and relax as needed. The outside is beautifully walled in and has a really high quality astroturf so it looks great but no mud or grass stains. We easily put our 200 people out there for the ceremony. The inside has exposed beams, beautiful drop lighting with rustic bulbs, exposed metal and farm tables. Outside they're continuing to grow and have a really cute little airstream trailer. We were able to bring a food truck in right onto their lot and it worked out perfectly. While the venue itself is amazing, Justin was really the star of the show. He made it so easy to work with him. We are, to put it kindly, not sticklers for details and Justin sync'd to us perfectly. Our wedding came off without a hitch and he was one of the biggest reasons that worked. read more

We contracted 11 months ago with Justin for our daughter's wedding, which was held this past Sat. Throughout the time leading up to the event, he was extremely accommodating by allowing various vendors to meet at the venue to check logistics. Communications were timely and thorough, including lots of suggestions to help plan our event. The "day of" was terrific....completely set up early Sat morning...allowed plenty of time for decorations and vendor setups. During the wedding, the venue manager was attentive and helpful. Guests raved about how much fun the venue was.....our daughter thought it was the best day of her life! Highly recommend The Union. read more
