I was out and about thrifting and antiquing in Ft. Pierce and came upon Pineapple Patti's. It does…read morenot have a very inviting entrance but I decided to check it out anyway. What I found was a maze of rooms filled with all sorts of stuff. Collectibles, art, china, furniture, old household items, they have a lot of stuff. Just when I thought I came to the end there was another turn and another room. I was hoping to find some vintage Pyrex and I did find some bowls but they were $75 and not in a color I liked. I don't know if they price haggle because I didn't want them enough to ask. They did have some Highwaymen paintings but since they were based out of Ft. Pierce many other area stores have them too. Some of the items were dirty and there was a really overpowering sickly sweet smell in the front. I can't describe it other than to say it made me want to leave. The gentleman in the front of the store was very nice and they don't hassle you while you look around. There wasn't anything for me today but I would stop in again.

Two stories of merchandize somewhat in disarray hopefully they will find their groove. The entrance area is air conditioned but still a little to warm, once you cross over into the second area the heat is on and only intensifies when you climb the wooden steps to the loft. A word of caution the loft area has a few changes in elevation as you walk across the wooden planks, although they are marked they pose a hazard and this is a distraction I didn't want to deal with. It had more of a garage sale feel than a antique and collectibles shop.

The prices on the stuff I did check out were on the high side. They had toys, drugstore items, books, clothing, home goods, and a little bit of everything. The had several Day of Dead decorations and a cute snacklebox but those items didn't have prices. There is an adjacent antique store, Barn Door Antiques. I don't know if it is the same business or two separate businesses? I think they also buy gold? There is a lot going on here. In any case I didn't go over to the antique store. Amelia's Thriftique was a miss for me today but if you are feeling adventurous you may want to check them out.

They had to have seen my car parked right at their door. I had movers waiting for me at a storage facility, and there is not another UHaul truck available in the area in advance of Hurricane Irma. I now cannot get my things out in advance of the storm from a facility with a faulty roof. You are heartless.
