A large and unique selection of items coupled with reasonable prices had me leaving with several items. The first item I coveted was a signed print of a heron by artist W. Harold Hancock. The price was $139. I was afraid to ask about it but I knew it would be perfect in my dining room. I ended up getting the print for $60. The frame and matting costs more. Thank you so much Mary, I love it. It makes me smile every time I see it. I have enjoyed learning about the artist. I also picked up a bust of Caesar? because he needed a home and two Asian pagoda lanterns made out of heavy pig iron from their garden area. There is so much to see. Most of the items are individual vendors but they are happy to call them and pitch your offer. You can feel comfortable offering 20 percent less than the marked prices. I appreciate how everything had a price so you didn't have to guess. The inventory changes monthly and the staff is wonderful.I actually stumbled on this place by accident when I overshot a turn. It was just meant to be.

This place is way way over the top amazing, it is filled floor to ceiling with good stuff and what mean by that is real old quality collectibles yes there are some reproduction items but those items are in minimum quantity. My photos only give you a peek of what you can expect once you enter the property that's by design and shows a little more of my selfish tendencies when it come to one of my hobbies. If you're a seasoned collector or a novice you will equally be impressed. The owner and his consignment partners have done an excellent job in presenting an exceptional collection. The prices reflect the quality so don't expect thrift store prices here. I am sure they would deal with serious collectors and understand condition so put your bargaining skills to good use but understand it pays to know what your buying its rarity and value before throwing out an offer. This place rates high on the list and is worth a bookmark.

It held a general store downstairs and the family lived upstairs. In the northeast corner of the store you can see a small room that used to be an icebox. Town residents would meet on the front porch. In the intervening years the building was a western store, feed store, and a furniture store. In 1993 it became an antique store. Current owner Cathy Wells has owned the business since 1998. The Mercantile is 3,200 sq. ft. and has more than sixty vendors selling countless items over two floors. Furniture, bric-a-brac, dolls, collectibles, jewelry, clothes, china, they have it all. Some of my favorite items were a Lilly Pulitzer dress, glass door knobs, and tiny blue bottles for a dollar. It would take awhile to see everything they have. In true old Florida fashion there is no air conditioning. Buildings built back in the day were designed to move air and they have fans everywhere so the heat wasn't unbearable. The young lady running the store was a sweetheart. What I found was a maze of rooms filled with all sorts of stuff. Collectibles, art, china, furniture, old household items, they have a lot of stuff. Just when I thought I came to the end there was another turn and another room. I was hoping to find some vintage Pyrex and I did find some bowls but they were $75 and not in a color I liked. I don't know if they price haggle because I didn't want them enough to ask. They did have some Highwaymen paintings but since they were based out of Ft. Pierce many other area stores have them too. Some of the items were dirty and there was a really overpowering sickly sweet smell in the front. I can't describe it other than to say it made me want to leave. The gentleman in the front of the store was very nice and they don't hassle you while you look around. There wasn't anything for me today but I would stop in again.

Two stories of merchandize somewhat in disarray hopefully they will find their groove. The entrance area is air conditioned but still a little to warm, once you cross over into the second area the heat is on and only intensifies when you climb the wooden steps to the loft. A word of caution the loft area has a few changes in elevation as you walk across the wooden planks, although they are marked they pose a hazard and this is a distraction I didn't want to deal with. It had more of a garage sale feel than a antique and collectibles shop.
