The hotel has got everything you'd expect of a new Premier Inn including the comfiest of beds, a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner and cosy bar with free wifi. Actually the whole hotel has excellent free wifi. The staff are lovely, there is plenty of car parking right outside, and despite being at the end of the runway we didn't have our sleep disturbed. We could hear the planes until they stopped for the night, but the well glazed and soundproofed rooms (with excellent air conditioning) reduced the noise sufficiently for a good slumber. Premier Inn Edinburgh Airport Hotel is easy to find just off the main road on the west of the city. Its neatly tucked in at the end of the runway next to a number of premium brand car showrooms. If you have to use the word in the hotel name, the chances are the reality will be anything but quality. I should point out that the 4 of us didn't choose to stay here; British Airways put us up overnight when their lateness made us miss a connecting flight. And, to be fair to the staff they were friendly and efficient. Our twin rooms (why twin, we are two couples?) we're a little sad and, well, little. Beds were moderately comfortable but the main barrier to sleep was the constant noise of the other guests milling around in the corridor outside, banging the doors and speaking loudly. At least the rooms were clean. The hotel's restaurant was surprisingly good, though. I don't think there is much choice if you're looking to stay at Edinburgh Airport but, if you're in any doubt, try the Hilton up the road. Didn't stay there and can't be sure it's any better - but at least its name doesn't have you thinking about calling Trading Standards.

Upon check-in, Arianna, who was warm and personable, helped us get settled on our preferred floor, explained the hotel amenities, breakfast hours, and nearby restaurants (some offering discounts), and provided a map of the area. Any questions during our stay were cheerfully answered by the front desk staff. The hotel stays busy with buses regularly loading and unloading tour groups. There's an onsite bar, 24-hour coffee and tea, early continental breakfast starting at 5 a.m. by reception, and a full hot breakfast upstairs from 6:30 a.m., with plenty of seating both levels--just check the busy times. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cool. The shower could use an upgrade, but it had excellent water pressure. Room was attended to each day. We had a fantastic stay, would recommend it in a heartbeat, and would happily return if back in the area. Enjoy!

The menu changes, such expect to get something different another time around. If you want to spoil your other half - then do! There is no doubt that because of its prestigious and expensive existence this place might only be affordable for special occasions or if you are not hit by recession. While taking a shower water just poured out from the seem at the bottom. This hotel has the major advantage of a supreme location as it's only a 10 minute walk from a host of famous Edinburgh attractions and highlights. Just some of those very nearby attractions are the Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland, the Greyfriars Kirkyard cemetery, the Royal Mile, and the Grassmarket Market commercial district. Besides that and more, there are a ton of pubs and other eateries of all sorts of cuisines close by. Then there are their normal hotel amenities. It's a spacious hotel housed in a historic building built in 1892. The room we have is cozy and comfortable and we even have a nice 2nd floor view of Edinburgh Castle. Their breakfast buffet is a delicious and large spread of classic British goodies. All of the staffers we have met are helpful and wonderful. The Hilton chain staffers are also always able to look up my Hilton Honors member number for points even though I never remember it. I can't give this Doubletree a bigger thumbs up. Thank you!

King Room: The room wasn't huge, but they made good use of the space. I wouldn't say I loved the TV stand being right at the foot of the bed, but other than that, there was just enough room to open my luggage comfortably. The bathroom was a decent size. AC, robes, ironing board, desk, wardrobe and mini fridge, all used and appreciated. Only downside: the room smelled strongly of mothballs. Overall Service: Check-in was at 3PM, but we arrived early and the staff gladly stored our bags so we could grab lunch and explore. Everyone we encountered, from front desk to breakfast staff, was extremely kind, professional, and welcoming. They hold themselves to a world-class standard of service, and it truly came across in every interaction. And yes, you do get a warm, baked cookie at check-in. Always a nice touch.

Braid Hills offers panoramic views right across the City of Edinburgh, to the Pentlands, the Firth of Forth and the Fife hills beyond. But this comes at no expense to its convenience. It's not at all far from town and is well serviced by buses. The hotel staff can also order you a taxi which will take you about ten minutes to the dead centre of town. The rooms themselves are particularly spacious, clean and well kept. I've always found the staff helpful. anoramic views right across the City of Edinburgh, to the Pentlands, the Firth of Forth and the Fife hills beyond. The hotel has a pretty decent restaurant too, which offers special Sunday lunches at £16.50 for three courses. There is a large function room which can be hired serperately too. Braid Hills also offers special holidays, namely golfing holidays, given the area's fame for the sport. These deals can be viewed online or if you phone up.

The only reason I'm docking one star is because they advertise their wifi pretty heavily but it was extremely slow and unreliable to the point of being completely useless.
