This is a nasty run down location with clueless unmotivated staff. I recently took a couple of packages in there, one of which needed a couple of pieces of tape to be applied. They charged me $1! ONE DOLLAR to add some tape to an already packaged box. Just short sighted bad business, because now I will go out of my way to take my business elsewhere. They made $1 from me, but lost a customer for life. Great business concept idiots. read more

This shipping place nickles and dimes everything. You must tape your own boxes for return or else youd have to pay $2.85 for them to do it. Or buy your own roll of tape for nearly $2. You would think a shipping place would tape boxes? Nope- that's an unrealistic expectation. read more

It's hard to believe but the service has possibly gotten worse since they moved locations. I honestly think there's somebody sitting in back with a gun forcing these people to work. Because every time I go in there it is nothing but unfriendly sour service.. This type of skill is something that you have to learn how to do and they have mastered it. read more

I had 6 30# boxes to ship this morning and I asked if they had a cart to borrow. They happily grabbed the cart and cane out to my vehicle to help me unload them. Great service from start to finish! I'll definitely use this location again! Thanks a bunch for great service. read more

Complete disregard for customer safety from Covid. No management in sight as people crowded in far beyond capacity. People with UPS labels would be called to come to a desk up front. Five or six would rush up and crowd together and around the people in line. I was asked to sign twice, both times with pens that had been used by everyone ahead of me. No attempt to clean anything. Only two overwhelmed clerks so I had to wait in crowded indoor conditions for 35 minutes. If I get Covid, I know where I got it! Shame on UPS read more

The store is older as reflected by the worn carpet. Service was slow. If you have an open box, they charge you for 1 piece of tape. 1 US dollar. This solidified why I drive a bit further to Fed Ex. read more

Terrible customer service. The manager flatly refused to print a pre-paid shipping label. He rudely "offered" to rent me a computer, and then charge me to print 1 page myself. I told him I already paid for the shipping and just needed a label stuck to the box (like every other UPS location in the country does). "Well we don't do that here. Printing costs us money." was his response. I took it to the Burnsville location who took care of it no questions asked. read more

This is the worst UPS store. These reviews are spot on for Apple Valley. If i could give 0 stars if I would. I was just there, did not need a receipt, did not need tracking, and the labels were already on. When asked if we could drop my packages off, Jerry rudely said "Get back in line with everyone else." I waited in a line 5 people deep just so they could set my packages behind the counter. If you don't like your job, do something else. Will never return. read more

Had to return something and forgot to tape it shut. First I get yelled at and told I need to buy a roll of tape to seal it. Then told I can pay cash and they will put 1 piece of tape on it. Are you kidding me? USPS and FedEx do this for free. I will never go back here and don't recommend it. Also, the woman who "helped" me was very unfriendly and rude with an attitude. read more

I have had excellent customer service at this location! I've brought in boxes to ship right before closing and I was treated very well - not even close to feeling like I was being rushed out the door. They make it very easy to package my items and send them off. I have been using and will continue to use this store for my shipping needs! read more

Kevin (the owner) is the most rude person I have met. If you have a package claim from damage they will not follow UPS protocol and will rip you off. UPS sent the store a check to pass along to me, the store kept 12% of the claim amount, plus did not give me my package back which UPS said I should get. I'm shocked UPS still lets Kevin have a franchise as he does not reflect positively on UPS at all. I'm either having UPS pick up my packages directly or using FedEx now. read more

My wife went to the UPS Store in Apple Valley and tried to ship a package of extra wristbands we didn't need for a cancer fundraiser we organized in Saint Paul back to the place we ordered them from in Wisconsin. The guy helping her asked her to open the package, which UPS employees are not authorized to do, so he could verify that the contents was safe, even though she told him they were cancer awareness wristbands. He charged her $28, stuck the label on the box, took the opened package from her, and brought it to the back without sealing it up. The next day the box showed up ten minutes down the road in Burnsville, at the house of the volunteer who originally ordered the wristbands for us. Totally wrong address, even though the confirmation email and tracking information reflected the correct address in WI. Our volunteer called and told us, so we drove out to Burnsville, picked up the package, and drove back to the store in Apple Valley to try and get the situation sorted out and the package shipped to the correct address this time. The same guy who helped my wife was there again, and he took no responsibility for what happened, showed absolutely no concern, and on top of everything berated another employee in front of my wife. When she asked him not to speak to his co-workers like that in front of customers, he yelled at her and used explicit language, in front of everyone in the store. I was waiting out in the car, and when she came back visibly shaken and upset, I went in to find out what had happened. The guy, who we come to find out is actually the owner, tells me he didn't yell or swear at my wife, tells me it's not his responsibility that the package went to the wrong address, and refused to give us a refund. He told my wife to never come into his store and tell him how to run his business. Then he left us there, literally holding the bag, and turned to help other customers. We left and drove ten minutes down the road to the UPS store in Eagan, talked to the manager Al, and got the package shipped out to the correct address. He charged us the normal fee for that delivery, which was $17 and change. We just moved to Apple Valley from Eagan, where we've always had a great relationship with the owner and the management of the store there. We also own a business in the same building as the UPS Store on Grand Ave in St. Paul, and we're friends with the owners and employees there. This is the first time we had used the Apple Valley location, and we naively expected the same level of service and professionalism. Unfortunately, our experience was outrageously bad. We'll never set foot in there again, and neither should you. read more

I have never been treated so disrespectfully as a customer. I came in with an Amazon package that had not been picked up from our home as scheduled. On the Amazon website we had been directed to bring the package to a UPS store for the label/drop off. The manager was incredibly rude to me (pregnant and carrying my large package and squirmy 2 year old) and was decidedly unhelpful. I left without them taking my package and without any help, guidance, or kindness. I've never felt so uncomfortable and frustrated as a customer and will avoid this store and will avoid UPS as possible. read more

Terrible. My package got to my daughter 11 DAYS after I shipped it all because a "Signature Required" stipulation was put on box IN THIS STORE without it being discussed or me asking for it. I was out of country/on vacation trying to resolve this with "help" from UPS 800 people, and then eventually employees at this store. Misinformation and bad attitudes all along the way. And then eventually, when I went to store to ask for a refund, the first employee to help me couldn't even look me in the eye and mumbled. Then the "store manager" twisted story to make me seem culpable. He said that when I was shown label to confirm address, signature requirement was printed on it such that it was available for me to see and approve or not. What???!!! Basically, I missed the small print, was his opinion. He never even apologized!!! He was an arrogant, rude person who is in no position to be running a business that requires common, decent customer service skills. Again, terrible. read more

The short bald rude older guy everyone complains about . . . he is the owner of this UPS franchise . . . not just a disgruntled clueless employee as many UPS customers have reported here on yelp. My job as a title closer requires me to ship loan documents back to title companies after the closings and I had four that needed to be sent out today. I ran out of the plastic packs that I usually ship back in and requested some at this location so I could ship my documents out today as I know they typically have them in stock. Kevin (the owner) handed me the cardboard ones that were too small for my documents to fit in and when I asked for the plastic packs they typically give me, he just grumbled "we are low on supplies" and continued to hand the cardboard ones to me. After I stuffed my documents into the flimsy envelopes I went up to the counter where I informed the young woman that I was nervous about these envelopes breaking open and were they not going to be stocking the plastic packs any longer. Imagine my shock and horror when Kevin started yelling at me from across the store saying "just ship them in those" and then walked over to me and was yelling at me and pointing his finger at me and then was just about ready to poke me in the arm with his finger when I stepped away. He was yelling at me inside his packed store that I was banned from his store and to go to any other UPS store in the United States but never come back to his store again. I politely asked him to stop yelling at me and that I was just trying to ship out my documents. To make matters worse, the young woman at the counter asked me if I would like to go somewhere else to ship my envelopes. Then she said that I could purchase tape from them to make sure the envelopes were sealed properly . . . all the while Kevin was standing there yelling at me to never come back to his store and I replied that I would be calling UPS corporate on Monday morning and let them know about my experience in his store. He said "go ahead and call and complain about me . . . you have complained about me before they know about you". All of this over requesting a plastic envelope? Two customers came up to me in the parking lot and said they witnessed everything that happened and that there was no excuse for his behavior. read more

I received absolutely horrible service at this store recently. I was attempting to get several papers laminated and was told that they wouldn't be able to get it done if a customer came in....I asked them what I was if not a customer. I asked that the owner call me about this unprofessional attitude and was hung up on. I would definitely avoid this store. read more

WORST UPS STORE EVER! Dropped off an Amazon return padded envelope. Ups wanted to charge me $2 to tape the end or $7 to buy a roll of tape. Burnsville Ups store does not charge for tape. This is ridiculous! I will never be back to this place that is also in dire need of renovations inside. read more

Been a long time customer of this store and have postal box, etc...under new ownership Kevin since 2005 timeframe. Service gone south. Finally after the last few years of frustration with them forgetting who pays their bills, i.e. customers, decided to walk. Well, not really walk. Ran away to another UPS store where they treat much better. Stay away from the Apple Valley store. Hopefully they will change. read more

This place is a complete ripoff the prices are outrageous! And the customer service is even worse! They charge $3.00 to print out their own label and $15.00 to put a small portable DVD player in a box. The shipping cost was already paid for by the person it was being sent to so to charge $15.00 for a box is ridiculous! I didn't want to go there but I didn't have a choice. Take my advice if you have a choice don't go! The post office is always a better option. read more

Nice staff but they totally rip you off - I calculated the cost to send a package on the UPS website - less than $35 and the cost at this store - 57.83!!! Apparently they are a franchise and can charge you whatever they want. I'll go to FedEx next time. read more
