We had to ship a huge 9' by 12' and 140 lb rug. This was a crazy project and this store was SO helpful every step of the way. Both team members on site helped me and my two companions fold the rug up, find the right size box (needed two wardrobe boxes!) and then tape it all up securely. On my return to his store to pick up my package that UPS told me had been delivered several days before, he continued to insist "It not here." I finally forced him to pick up the box to which I had pointed on my first visit. There, on the side of the box, was the shipping label with my name and address. Ive been into this store 2x in last couple of months. BOTH times the owner was extremely rude and unreasonable. This last visit was the worst. I went in with a package, in a UPS box with a label and my own bubble wrap. At the counter i pulled out the item from the box and informed the owner who was behind counter I just needed to re-wrap my pkg in the bubble wrap. He told me I needed to buy packaging. I showed him my bubble wrap and explained again im just re-wrapping it to protect the item - a laptop. I showed him my pre-paid label for shipping. I then asked if I could use the tape CLEARLY on his counter for customer use, to seal the Express Box i was using and he again told me I need to buy the tape. To clarify I asked "can I use this tape to seal the top of this express box"? (Couldn't be more than 8") and he curtly and loudly told me NO i have to buy the tape. I took my package and left. I reminded him this is 2nd visit to store where he in unreasonable and I will never give him my business again. DONT go to this store, save yourself the trouble. Theres good reason why this store is rated so poorly. Its independently owned, not much corporate can do about it. Take your business elsewhere to another UPS location. read more

Not only is the wife rude, she is incompetent. When I returned to pick up my medical records that needed copying she had forgotten it. OK no problem people make mistakes. She then proceeded to copy them in between helping other customers. When I asked her to please finish my job she got very annoyed at me. The pages ended up out of order and some were not copied. And before I could open my mouth he started snapping his fingers at me to place the box on the counter, shocked I said to him "oh we're snapping fingers now, that's how we're communicating?" I called this store because I needed a pickup for a rug which I couldn't package on my own. I already unwrapped the whole thing and additionally don't have a car to drop off at their store for shipment. So they quoted me $35 for packaging but said for pickup included the total will be $100. So it cost $65 for them to pick up the item a few miles away. I tried to get them to come down in price but they wouldn't. No problem. I wanted rid of the item and return it. All went well (although the gentleman who runs this location seems a little abrasive). I was happy generally with the service. Now I needed another item for pickup and as luck would have it this time it was for a coffee table. The same gentleman answered the phone. He said I should get someone else to handle this. They can't do it or don't have time or something. No problem. I called the White Plains UPS Store who is charging $15 for a pickup. UPS Ardsley charged $65 for a pickup and the White Plains location charges $!5? Both items were 100 pounds. Furthermore a rug is easier to handle than a glass table most definitely. It sounds like he pocketed $50 from me which is a little excessive. Well at least I found the White Plains store which I will use in the future need be. Hopefully this is the last of my returns! The owner of this store is so rude. First of all the place smells terrible. I only went there to drop off a package to be shipped. I already had it prepared with a prepaid slip. He printed out a receipt for the drop off and handed it to me annoyed, meanwhile I didnt ask or need one. I asked him for a few UPS envelopes (which are free by the way) and he tells me I have to order them. I wouldn't spend a dime in this store after the treatment I received. He apparently doesnt like it when you go in and don't spend any money but sure likes being under the UPS name and receiving the franchise benefit. I'll drive to the Elmsford hub - they are way nicer and I can get more than one envelope at a time. Honestly, they are free! What a jerk. read more

Super convenient location. That's it. Any shipping store would outdo this place. I've been to other UPS stores in westchester and they're great. Any emotion is non-existent from the owner. I was there to make copies. For some reason 300 and 500 copies are the same price. I realized this only after getting 300 copies for several visits. I brought my recently deceased mothers Wedgewood china to the UPS store to ship to me in Alaska. The store owner and his wife were very polite and quickly assessed my shipping needs. When I received my china it had been carefully wrapped and packed. All pieces came through unbroken. I am very pleased with the quality of care and attention the packers who packed the boxes used. This store is awful. Says it's open during normal business hours and yet they just show up when they want. Always trying to find ways to get more money out of you too, whether it's charging you $$$ for closing a box or if they don't feel that the box is COMPLETELY stuffed, they will make you buy a new one. You think with all the bad reviews maybe this sad man would change his ways... he barley said a thing to me during our interaction. When i went to go pay for my envelope thinking it was free he stated it would be 1.71 i said okay and took my card out. He said "what no cash?" I said no and even proceeded to show him my empty wallet. He rolled his eyes and once the receipt printed he threw is onto the counter and walked away. UGH what an asshole. My wife told me to avoid this place but stupid me said, what's the problem, it's the closest UPS store and I'm just sending a package. I had measured and weighed it in advance so I knew they wouldn't rip me off. My package contained a couple of pieces of vintage stereo equipment each roughly the size of a large cable box. Each piece was swaddled in a couple of inches of the best bubble wrap, with an extra inch of the stuff around each of the corners, all inside a sturdy cardboard box, packed inside an even more bomb-proof Amazon Prime box. I dropped it off at about 3:20 PM with a female employee (or co-owner?) who was standing five feet away from the nasty male owner, who observed the transaction and told her how to enter the $300 in insurance I requested. Paid cash, left the store, drove home. Then at 4:45 PM the idiot called my cell phone and started quizzing me about what was in the package. I told him old stereo equipment, about the size of two large cable boxes, etc. He was very rude and said "you have to come back." WTF? "I don't think you packed it well. I have to open it." I told him I've been shipping electronics for 15 years and I know how to pack, I used plenty of bubble wrap, and you're not opening my box. Then he babbled something about "UPS regulations" and said it was "his judgment" that the box had to be opened. I guess he thought I was running some kind of insurance scam to get the $300?? Who knows, but if you have a question or concern, talk to me when I'm in the store at 3:20. Don't call me an hour and a half later to order me to "come back." I just happened to be home this afternoon, which is why I had time to drop off the package, but like most people I have a job and a life and I don't generally just hang out waiting to be summoned back to a UPS store because it took the nasty owner an hour and a half to worry about my packaging. P.S. I got out of there with my package and refund at 4:55, just in time to drop it off at the U.S. Post Office virtually next door. Insured for $300, no problem, will arrive in three days. About $6.00 more than UPS but worth every penny. EDIT: I just emptied my pocket and he even shorted me a dime on my refund. For real. Second edit: I figured out his angle. He must have wanted to open up the package so he could charge me for repackaging and whatever extra bubble wrap and tape he would claim was necessary. read more

Paid over $100 for an overseas package delivery. Never got there. I sent an email to the store to inquire, never got a response. I ended up driving there from work to speak to them and they acknowledged that the package has not been delivered even if it has over 2 weeks past the the date of delivery (I paid extra for the 5 to 8 business days). Mr. Lim said he will l go to the USPS to find out what happened to the package and he said he will call me the next day to inform me what happened. Never called. Would like to give it a, "don't go there star". Owner is rude & obnoxious & to say he has no customer service skills is a complement. Never looks up but says ,"put package here". No matter how you package the item that is being sent, he will always try to find something wrong so he can bilk you into buying his overpriced packing materials. Also he has a tape measure in his hands - he is slick. He will weight the item in regard to the shipping address and give you a price then with the tape measure measures the item and tacks on another fee mentioning cost has to do with box measurements. however at no time did he consult a reference book regarding this pricing. he just pulls a price out of his head and will add it on. when I asked him to show me how he arrived at the price and to show me it in a ups reference book pricing, he became enraged and said, " you want item shipped or not" Also there are a lot of businesses in Ardsley that use this store for their drop-offs. All I can think of is that he is tipped heavily by some. Because if you are in line or happen to be waited on by the rude & obnoxious owner or his rude, obnoxious wife he will stop for these people and tell them to, "bring package here (ie to the counter). I now go to the ups store which is in the confines of the Staples Store in Scarsdale and am very happy. I had to return something I bought from Amazon. They said they made a prepaid shipping label that UPS were to pull up using the number they gave me. I went in and made the mistake of telling the owner that I had never done this before. I was hoping he would be helpful and just walk me through it. He tells me I have to pay him $3. I told him that Amazon said it was free and he should be able to take the number they gave and pull up the pre-paid label in his computer. He tells me that's not true. I say, "But they said...." and he cuts me off and says no it is, b/c like I said I've never done this before. I told him that I was going to call Amazon to check it out, and he said I didn't have to do that. I said I'm going to do it anyway. He throws their UPS business card at me and huffs away to the back of the store. I walk away from the store dissatisfied that I couldn't send it back and confused. I mean, was I misunderstanding? Nope. I went and looked at the emails Amazon sent and at my account with them. There was no misunderstanding. I should have been able to send it, he just didn't like that he wouldn't make any money off of me. He couldn't charge me for packing tape as I brought a whole roll. Btw, the item I was sending back was worth approx. $8 or so. So, if I had to pay the owner $3, I would only end up getting $5 back. Plus, the item was small, lightweight plastic. Now I know $3 is small potatoes, but I have a real problem with someone ripping me off, no matter how small. Anyway, as proof that he refused to do his job, I had my husband bring it to a UPS in NYC and they did it. For free. With the pre-paid label. That they brought up on their computer. Exactly as the guy in Ardsley said couldn't be done. So, to sum up: apparently he lied and tried to manipulate me into making him a few bucks off a service that was pre-paid, i.e. free for the customer. It is really unbelievable that he would think that he would get me to shell out my own money for something I KNOW is free. What an insult to my intelligence. Well, joke's on you. I'm calling Amazon and complaining about you, like you didn't want. Done and done. They said they are forwarding my complaint to UPS. Now it's in UPS' hands. However, if they don't care, Amazon also knows, and if they get enough complaints perhaps they will change their service from UPS to FedEx or just plain USPS.
