I use this UPS store when I ship auction items to my home in California. They respond quickly, communicate directly, and are all-around great. Sometimes I purchase things at 2 auctions that are different times, and they are kind enough to wait and then send things together. I also have a bit of a tricky situation/driveway/road, and they always write on the box that needs to be done when the driver arrives. I am so thankful for that. Yes, I am an auction "junkie"! I was shocked by the rude service at Westwood, NJ location. It started with the clerk making me carry the heavy package to the end of the store. When I brought up the Amazon scan code on my phone, he said I should have printed it. When I asked if there was another way to accept the package without printing, he said "no" which was a lie. Here's the instruction on Amazon I looked up after I got home with my packages How to get a UPS return label from Amazon. The clerk didn't accept my packages because I refused to pay for him printing a label (even if it was a $1). I admit, I got upset, to which he replied 'you can take your business somewhere else" . This is not the first time I was treated rudely, so I will take his suggestion and never step a foot into Westwood, NJ UPS store. Today, I visited the UPS store in Briarcliff Manor to mail (2) parcels with very efficient, friendly and professional services by the personnel. Less than (5) minutes after driving away, I realized the $300 that was in my jacket was nott there. Apparently, when I pulled my phone out for the scanned code, the money fell out without me realizing it. So I immediately went back into the store and Cole and Alex said, did you leave money here? I replied, yes. They found it on the counter near the scale. Words cannot describe how elated I was!!. I told them I was so glad they found it and were honest!! Both Cole and Alex are to be commended. I know they will always be an asset to any place they work because they have core values of integrity. I recently purchased some art at an auction that I needed shipped to me in Virginia. Frank at The UPS Store 5527 was one of the suggested shippers by the auction house. I called the store and Frank actually answered the phone. I told him what I needed and he told me to send a copy of the paid invoice and he would take care of it. And did he ever. My package arrived yesterday in perfect condition. I've never seen so much care and bubble wrap used to ensure safe transit of anything that I have ever purchased. There was even a note on the main piece to warn me not to use anything sharp. 10 stars to this store and to Frank. (Also - It was over the Christmas/NY holidays and the auction house has a 10 day rule that if the items aren't picked up by that time, there is a $10./day storage fee. Avoid this business. They definitely don't deserve my business in the future. Clerk unmasked. Unprofessional. Chewing gum. No hello. Big frown. I gave them a chance to spiff up their attitude and they failed. Rude. Grumpy. Not once, but every time I've been here with this owner. This UPS Store doesn't value their customers. Not theirs to fix, but the parking lot is a mess: not enough spaces, crowded and sloping in myriad directions. Must be alert that a heavy car door doesn't swing out of your hand and slam the adjacent car. Nobody working at this store looks like they want to be there. 1) Disrespectful of customers' time. For at least a couple of months, probably much longer, the closing hours that are posted online are way off by as much as 60-90 minutes before the posted time. The door is unlocked. All the lights are on. Mentioned it to a senior person (owner?) recently and the response was a brusque "I'll look into it.", unconvincing to say the least; as if nobody else has mentioned the problem previously? 2) Simply not welcoming. Even when it's during a slow time, I've yet to experience a genuine hello. There are no thank yous for coming in. I once arrived during the time it was posted to still be open. Once, I struggled to open the door while holding a sizable box , only to be greeted by a booming "We're closed". Closed? Door unlocked, all lights on. As I left, another customer opened the door to be greeted by "We're Closed!!!". "But I was here just a while ago" she protested and was then invited in. Sheesh. Was it labeled "Complimentary Tape for Use by Customers". No, it wasn't. Would you reach into the kitchen of a restaurant and take 2 french fries because they were within reach and of de minimis value. No, you wouldn't. Ive been in this store many many times. The service is fine. It's a UPS store people... not a Porsche dealership. Have some perspective. They are speedy and courteous. That's all you need from a local UPS store. Rating=5! read more

I walked in here just having to return two packages and the kid (yes a teen) just looked at me like he was high. And one of his buddies says were closed but i just ignored it because it was way before closing time. The kid didnt tell me anything so i gave him the return label and put my package on the scale because he clearly wasn't capable of his job. I just read a review by someone who got caught shoplifting at the UPS store. They rated it one star and that negative rating will "stick" to this business forever. This store is located in Briarcliff Manor and this town is populated by often entitled upper middle class people. A pretty tough and unforgiving crowd. Anyway, as far as my experience goes with these guys, they have been friendly, cordial and professional even though I usually just drop off stuff that has been pre-labeled and they don't make a lot on it I'm sure. I bought a fairly large oil painting with an elaborate and delicate frame on an internet art auction. I contracted with UPS store 5527 to take possession of the item for me from the auction house, wrap and sent the painting to me MA to Las Vegas, NV. They did good job at this. It could have been a real headache had they not. Anyway, the package arrived in a timely manner in perfect condition. The protective packaging they did was impressive. Located at 72 N. State Rd in Briarcliff, this UPS is owned by a great guy named Reza. His staff are sweet and helpful as well. They are Justin and Kirk. After being abused so badly by the Croton-on -Hudson UPS store at 420 South Riverside Ave in Croton on Hudson (see my review for them) , it was a great pleasure to deal with people who not only do not hate customers on sight, but will happily help anyone with the service that UPS provide. Each store is owned a different person. I was so grateful to be able to get my work done and not get scolded, yelled, at, or belittled. Horrible customer service and Frank was very confrontational and rude. Crazy how he doesn't value customers in this small town. Well we in the town have choices... [Adding more detail since the owner has commented] In addition to confrontational and rude lets also add dishonest... First, a clearly used roll of tape was on the counter next to the scale to with when I put my boxes down. Not on the shelf for sale with the other new items hanging. When I went to the counter I was greeted by the clerk and I told him I have two prepaid boxes. I needed to tape my boxes and saw it there and used it to tape off the top in front of the clerk. I had small talk with the clerk while I was taping and after I gave him the first to weigh and process the prepaid form, he gave me the receipt. He did not tell me the tape was not to be used nor was their a sign or hung policy that used tape is not to be used. I then proceeded to tape the second box with the clerk and got the receipt and he said have a nice day. It was as I was walking out when you confronted me and asked me to pay 9.99 for the tape. When I shared I didn't know I had to pay for tape that was just there, you made comparisons to stealing food in your confrontational rant. You also ended saying its OK and don't worry about paying so there clearly was no theft as you alluded. If there was theft you would probably have prevented me from leaving. Some advice...if you have a policy of not to use tape, hang it and make it visible. From a customer service perspective, the cost of tape is so small and insignificant that giving it away for free is not going to have a negative impact on the profits of the establishment. On ULINE it goes for $1.25. It is just a penny and a half per foot of tape. If the consumer uses 2 ft of tape the total cost to the establishment is merely 3¢. You should actually provide tape for free to the consumer to create trust and a positive relationship with the consumer that could bring a much higher profit to the establishment than the loss of the mere 3 pennies. I feel that the choice to charge a high fee for a product that is so low in value is not a very smart move but is just being very cheap. The cost of charging a fee for something so inexpensive could be extremely high considering the amount of consumers that will be deterred from coming back and becoming repeat customers. It appears that you clearly are focused on the SMALL amount of cost to see the BIG picture. It is common to see businesses fail because they are simply being cheap. read more

Sadly, the old owner sold. Someone else is in charge now. Hopefully, it was just a bad day. It was understandably busy. It was the weekend before Mother's Day. Only the owner and one other person was working. Our first interaction with the new owner did not go well. We went in to ship a box. There was a problem with labels. We asked if he could help us since we couldn't print. He agreed but left us to work with an employee who didn't know how to assist us. That was the first issue. I could ignore that if that was the only problem. We were ready to leave at that point but then a second issue occured. There was a computer issue. It tied into the browser the owner was using. This was beyond our control. We couldn't log off the computer system. Unfortunately it resulted in the owner raising his voice, blaming us for his issues and asking us to leave. We couldn't leave due to his computer glitch. Our account information was exposed. This was absolutely not an option for us. Our account information was there for the world to see and he didn't even seem to acknowledge this key fact. Yelling only made things worse. Given the fact that the owner was rude, accusatory and doing this publicly (probably done with six - seven other customers present online) we could not count on him helping us by clearing history, we ensured it was done by us before leaving. I thought I may have been hot headed and not objective as to how horribly I was treated. I stepped out the door and not one but two customers agreed I was treated poorly. Now I know my feelings were validated snd justified. I was with one other person who has vowed to never return. We were not even given a receipt for tracking and had to request one after the incident. After thinking about things overnight, I feel compelled to share this public incident so maybe it can be avoided in the future. What was alarming was that this business owner was in clearly over his head. This is a person that I would depend on to do mailings required for my work and I just can't take the chance that someone would lose his temper and screw anything up for me professionally. I am also a small business owner too and if I treated people like this, I would have NO customers. To you, new UPS owner, I understand a "bad day". We have all been there. Hopefully that was all that was going on in this situation. If you would like to discuss the incident, I would gladly do so offline. Also, if you would also like free advice on how to keep the browser incident from happening to you again (the issue that had your computer tied up for over 20 minutes), we could discuss over coffee next door.
