Sadly, the old owner sold. Someone else is in charge now. Hopefully, it was just a bad day. It was understandably busy. It was the weekend before Mother's Day. Only the owner and one other person was working. Our first interaction with the new owner did not go well. We went in to ship a box. There was a problem with labels. We asked if he could help us since we couldn't print. He agreed but left us to work with an employee who didn't know how to assist us. That was the first issue. I could ignore that if that was the only problem. We were ready to leave at that point but then a second issue occured. There was a computer issue. It tied into the browser the owner was using. This was beyond our control. We couldn't log off the computer system. Unfortunately it resulted in the owner raising his voice, blaming us for his issues and asking us to leave. We couldn't leave due to his computer glitch. Our account information was exposed. This was absolutely not an option for us. Our account information was there for the world to see and he didn't even seem to acknowledge this key fact. Yelling only made things worse. Given the fact that the owner was rude, accusatory and doing this publicly (probably done with six - seven other customers present online) we could not count on him helping us by clearing history, we ensured it was done by us before leaving. I thought I may have been hot headed and not objective as to how horribly I was treated. I stepped out the door and not one but two customers agreed I was treated poorly. Now I know my feelings were validated snd justified. I was with one other person who has vowed to never return. We were not even given a receipt for tracking and had to request one after the incident. After thinking about things overnight, I feel compelled to share this public incident so maybe it can be avoided in the future. What was alarming was that this business owner was in clearly over his head. This is a person that I would depend on to do mailings required for my work and I just can't take the chance that someone would lose his temper and screw anything up for me professionally. I am also a small business owner too and if I treated people like this, I would have NO customers. To you, new UPS owner, I understand a "bad day". We have all been there. Hopefully that was all that was going on in this situation. If you would like to discuss the incident, I would gladly do so offline. Also, if you would also like free advice on how to keep the browser incident from happening to you again (the issue that had your computer tied up for over 20 minutes), we could discuss over coffee next door. I came in today to ship a return to Amazon without having the original box and was told it would cost me $8 for one midsize cardboard box. Ok, fine. So I got one for free from a store next door and came back only to find out they were going to charge me for taping the box shut. I am not kidding. When I expressed surprise, the owner told me "It's a store!" (thereby implying that to tape a box without a charge would be a form of frivolous charity), adding, "The post office charges for taping." They don't. Oh, and to add insult to insult, the sign on the door states "This business is run by (employs?) people from your neighborhood." Mr. Rogers would be proud. The owners a real POS . Had a really nice girl helping me and she was patient with me which I appreciated a lot. Had trouble figuring out dimensions for a box . Was trying to find the right one for item I was going to ship. Owner walked past me and her and literally mocked me about why I was taking so long about figuring out a box to get. Couldn't say it to my face though . Tough guy indeed . Amazing how a owner/manager thinks he can do what he wants and be absolutely obnoxious to customers . I never once was disrespectful to any of your staff and was respectful through the entire process and transaction .I gave you business and I don't understand why you mocked me. You must of bullied so many people in high school to have such a miserable life sir. I wish you all the happiness in the world cause you truly need it indeed . I reported you and I really hope with this pattern of behavior that other customers get from you that UPS does something about it. Store manager kindly agreed to delay shipping of 40 pound plus package. Then lost alll information regarding sender and recipient. When wrong package afrrived at recipient address, I called. Manager said he had made an error and woule call RIGHT BACK. Four hours later, still no return call...and no one picking up phone at the UPS store. read more

After two weeks of back and forth that they were going to pick up and ship an item for me still nothing. This is despite numerous communications and stated dates the package would be shipped. Had an item packed for me, and shipped. Arrived in fine condition, and am using them again. I basically look for three things when sending or receiving merchandize-that it arrives unbroken if it is a breakable item. That in itself is a fine art. Reasonable charges-this store checks that box too. And professional, courteous service. Check. I have read many comments in regard to this store which I take with a huge grain of salt. Again, I go by my own personal experience, which has been positive. I have encountered many of the types of experiences mentioned by other posters. I guess if I have a problem with service or anything in the public, I go right to the source and discuss whatever problem there is. I question "reviews" that instead fruitlessly aim to fix something they feel isn't right by posting online. I hate to say it, but that never fixes problems, and I for one look at such posts suspiciously. Stressful times we are in for sure. But I only post reviews that are positive. I handle problems as they should be-with the person who can make it right. Apologize for the long response-just read an awful lot of stuff that I don't think has anything to do with this store, or it's services. To me, so far, fine store and fine service. read more

I was sent medicine that I did NOT request and charged by Medco, which I'll review elsewhere at another time, as a result of a mistake at a doctor's office, which I'll also review elsewhere at another time. First it was sent to me thru USPS and, at the subsequent instructions of the doctor's office as well as Medco, I marked it Return to Sender and mailed it back. Medco then re-sent the medicine to me thru UPS, even tho' they were informed by me, by my doctor's office, and by their own Provider Services dept. that it was a mistake. I again marked the package "Return to Sender," as previously instructed, and attempted to leave it at the Briarcliff Manor UPS Store. A guy at the counter in the store yelled after me that he wouldn't take it. I yelled back to him that I didn't care and that he could do with it as he pleased. So, he threw it at me. After a series of throws back and forth, after which he chased my car and stuck it under my windshield, the above UPS Store salesperson called the Briarcliff police. They came immediately and stopped traffic at a busy intersection, during rush hour, to prevent me from driving off. They took my drivers license, threatened to arrest me, and went back to the store, while I waited. (I had explained to them that I was in a hurry, but the police--well, you know how they are). They came back after awhile and told me that I should have behaved better. I told them that they could say that to most people in the world, but that wouldn't make the entire world population guilty of a crime or even worth pulling over as they had done to me--especially considering the reason as to why I had left the package at the store in the first place and especially considering the behavior of the store's personnel. One of the officers said that he had spoken to a UPS driver outside the store and the driver had agreed to take the package as a courtesy. I thanked the officer. Then the policeman told me never to go back to the store. I said that was NOT a problem. Would you want to pay this store to perform any service for you? Would you trust them to handle anything in a smart and courteous manner? I have since spoken with the UPS store customer service 800 phone number when trying to locate other places to drop off packages. I had to explain why the Briarcliff Manor location was not a viable one for me. The representative not only apologized for how I was treated at this location; unsolicited, she volunteered that UPS store management would contact the store and "retrain" them. read more

I have been doing business here for a couple years now. I don't own a printer and my job often requires me to print documents at home, so I go to the UPS Store often. I always found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. However, when I really needed them to come through for my wedding, they went above and beyond. I came to UPS just two days before my wedding. Anyone who has been through this process knows how insanely stressful it is at that time. I had to get the ceremony programs and menu cards printed ASAP and had only a general idea of what we were looking for. I arrived at UPS ten minutes before they closed and the staff stayed late to help me troubleshoot what we needed. The menus in particular were difficult since they were an unconventional size. However, UPS came up with a solution. We could print them on normal 8.5x11 and they would cut out the documents on each individual page. I went home to discuss with my - at that time future - wife and returned early the next morning with the green light. Reza took it from there. Knowing I was under a really strict deadline, Reza had over 100 programs printed and folded, and printed and cut each and every one of our 175 menus THAT DAY!!! And.... Everything looked excellent! What a huge relief it was to have everything done in such a short time frame in a way that both my betrothed and I were very happy about. I would recommend The UPS Store to anyone who needs printing or shipping. They certainly went above and beyond for me when I really needed them. read more

I have left a review of a store only one other time in my life before this. I dropped off some items to be returned to Amazon. The person at the counter (who I later went in and asked if he was the owner - which he was), was unbelievably rude to me. I had my items boxed, but had to take them out and give him the items for each return code so I stepped aside to let someone behind me go while I separated everything on the floor. He grudgingly gave me scissors when I asked to open my box and then asked if I would be much longer, that he had ordered a sandwich at Starbucks and he'd like to go get it. I apologized and told him that I was nearly done and mentioned that I had been here much earlier at 8:30 because the website says the store is open at 8:00am. He barked "no we open at 9". Just a really unpleasant and rude attitude which I am surprised about in such a small town and at a time when small businesses are permanently closing and people are losing their jobs. I normally shop and support local, but won't be supporting this business anymore and will be sure to encourage my friends and family to do the same. Great friendly service - Justin was a sweetheart. Was waiting to meet the infamous owner, but didn't see him when I stopped in. I had a pre-paid package and like I said, Justin couldn't have been nicer. He even said "Perfect!" when he saw it was all ready to go. The hours are great as it was open late enough that I was able to send a package out after work. Only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was the location; getting into and out of the parking lot can be tricky during heavy traffic. read more

Yes, I agree one star is one to many for this store. The manager is rude and unprofessional. When I questioned his outrageous pricing he berated me. I took my packages to FEDEX in Mt. Kisco and they were very courteous and helpful. It was 92.00 less at FEDEX. I will forever be using FEDEX! read more

Can't say enough about the excellent service and professionalism of the owner and staff of this store. We were shipping fragile, large paintings overseas and the owner, Reza, took charge of every detail of the packing, insurance, customs paperwork, and DHL quotes. He went out of his way to accommodate our ever-changing shipping schedule with calm assurance. When the packages arrived, my family overseas said the paintings were in perfect condition because of the impressive packing job by Reza and his staff. I would use this store again in a heartbeat. UPS Store #5527 owner complaint. The owner at this location, I know he was the owner because he repeatedly told me so, was rude, disrespectful, and refused to take my package because it was UPS Surepost and he wouldn't make any money off of it since it had a prepaid shipping label. he then lectured me on taping the label and box on another package. I stated every other UPS store gladly does that for me and instead of being polite and offering to sell me tape he became condescending and told me that he runs the greatest store and is the best UPS store owner without offering to sell me tape to tape the box. I told him he did not need to speak to me that way and when he continued to I asked him why he was being an ass. He once again informed me that I was just ignorant and continued to insult me as I took my packages to leave. Upon leaving I told him he could go F himslef and he responding with numerous obscenities. While I lost my cool at the end he did not have to treat me like a second class citizen because I had prepaid shipping labels. I will never use UPS again. read more
