I live closer to the store now and use it on a regular basis. They are so patient and kind here, and I've been so exasperated by what I've been going through with my old post office, I'm always rattled and tired when I'm there, and they're always so sweet and calming and understanding. You really don't find people this professional and calming in a very busy environment that often anymore. The pricing seems on par with USPS, and they do so much more in the way of services here than I first realized. Bonus, now I can walk there, which is a blessing! UPS store at 1055 Bryn Mawr in Chicago. Horrific experience. 1. The phone number listed on their website is wrong. Because of this, when I had a question about a charge, I had to interrupt my work day to walk to the store, whereupon...2. I encountered a young associate hugging a teddy bear and doggedly fixating on her fingernails (5 inches? 6? 7?). It was a hold, she told me, looking at her fingernails. When would it come off? In a few days, she told me, looking at her fingernails. "Can you please stop looking at your fingernails and look at me?" I asked, in no mood. "I'm not doing this. You've got an attitude," she complained. Then, she retreated to the back of the store in a weird, twirling dance. "Hey," I informed her, "you're in a customer service industry!" I followed this up with: "What's the phone number to this store?" "I don't know," she insisted, as she got on her phone. "It's on the business cards," she said. I looked on the counter. No business cards. "The number you have on your website is wrong. What's the number to this store?" "Call customer service," she called from the safety of the back of the store. I think this was the point when she cranked up the store stereo, apparently to drown me out or perhaps to ward off my evil, like a crucifix to a vampire. I'm not making this up. Her "security" guy then appeared (I'm petite, but honestly I'm pretty sure I could have taken him). "She's harassing me," she told him. He assessed the danger I presented and said he'd call police. I don't blame her; she's by herself. I got on the phone to UPS and left. "She's leaving," her security guy reported to... someone. Threat averted. UPS: Invest in training your associates. There will be customers who are unhappy or stressed, as I was. An associate who cannot look them in the eye, who has no skills to talk them down, and who has no empathy does you no favors. If I can avoid it, I'll never use UPS again. read more

SHIP HERE You can ship here too! I Shipped in a box and the staff helped me! If you need to ship, then do it here. I have never enjoyed to ship this much. I have been looking for a great place to ship and now I found it. I use to ship at another UPS store but they shipped on me and I wasn't happy. Okay let's get serious. I called before coming here and the staff was really nice. They even came out to my car to see if they could handle my package. After looking at my package, they said they had no problem handling my stuff. They even helped me get it out of my SUV. We threw it on a Dolly and rolled into the store. The staff was able to quote me on wrapping up my package. They also gave me two options to ship. I was able to compare ship rates between UPS and the USPS. I can not tell you how happy I was to hear I didn't have to go to the USPS and ship there. That place is full of ship and it takes forever once you step in there. I now know where I am going to ship in the future...right here in this store. So next time you wanna ship, I highly recommend you grab your package and ship here. read more

This UPS location is fantastic. I called and asked them for a price quote on color printing on cardstock. Barbara told me that they'd been having trouble printing color on cardstock so I said black & white would be fine. I uploaded the files to their website and an hour later, Barbara called and said it was done. When I got there, they showed me a black & white copy, which they hadn't liked the quality of. So they had gone ahead and printed all my copies out in color and gave it to me for the B&W price. Then, they even cut out three of my items and laminated them for me so I could see how it would look. They gave me these samples for free! To top it all off, they have a AAA discount, which I think is 5% off. I got a TON of very high quality copies for only $4.50. It was so inexpensive and GREAT customer service. But this isn't your typical "ship a package store," but rather a well run, efficient and incredibly polite local business owned by a woman named Barbara who was on a first-name basis with her customers. The parking lot outside had plenty of spaces the morning I was there, but if you're taking the L, the business is conveniently located just down the block from the Sedgwick station. read more

Do not use their notary services of this UPS location. The notary seal and signature will not be accepted by the Secretary of State of Illinois index Department as a valid State of Illinois notary signature. And when you go back to ask whether they can adapt the seal so the signature meets the State requirements, the "notary" said no. Then when I asked for my money back she said no. Needless to say the document I signed in that office became worthless, I had to destroy that one, print it again and look for another notary, whose signature is valid. Cannot say anything about shipping services. read more
