These negative reviews aren't surprising. I always try to support small business owners 1st, and keep it local. But Pat, the owner, was not only down right rude, she shamed me in front of other customers regarding how I run my business. She is at her core unfriendly, and unwilling to listen. Pat is wildly unknowledgeable of how businesses operate today, it's not 1987, it's 2024, lady. The poor staff struggle to be helpful given their limited resources, but they do try. As much as Pat wasted my time, she did end up leading me to a much better virtual mailbox option. I don't like to take the time to leave negative reviews, but this wasn't the 1st, or even 5th, negative experience at this store. Was definitely the last! The worker dismissed me, belittled me, and overall rude. When I visited on 12/27 with three people in the store, the customers were trying to help me when entering before she explodes. They tried and she, then again, yelled at me to go behind the woman, in line, which there was no line. So I was confused where the line was and she had to explain 3 different times where it was. Then, when the customer was being helped she BLUNTLY said well we can't print here so I'm referring you to the library! He left. So when I thought I had something to scan and be printed, I began to walk out. Then she shouted at me "do you have a QR CODE?!" I said, "yes" and she says "that's what happens when you don't listen to what the actual story is" I get that this time of year is stressful. But this experience is unacceptable. This store is advertised as offering a number of services, including printing. Well I don't have a printer, and needed to ship something out but all I had was the prepaid UPS label on my phone. I drive all the way there, only to be told they can't print there and to go to the library to print my label. Of course the library was closed so when I got some time I printed it at Staples. The lady there laughed and told me the Northpark UPS Store has been claiming their printer is down for like 2 years now! Also, the old lady in charge is usually pretty rude and unhelpful, it's my understanding she actually owns the store. I can't believe that UPS would allow a franchisee to be that rude and unhelpful to their customers. Just out of curiosity I waited a week and called again to see if I could print my label yet, and the woman told me "No, it's still down. Go print what you need at the library." WTH!!!! What kind of UPS store provides "printing services" but won't even print anything?????? That would be like going to a McDonald's franchise to order a Big Mac, but then told "we don't have big Macs here, go to the local homeless shelter to get fed." I felt very embarassed for being treated like this, I don't know if the old lady was trying to be condescending or if she's just clueless on how to treat people. For crying out loud I would have certainly paid whatever the cost was to print my stinking label, I ended up spending a whooping $.26 to print it at Staples. I would have just shipped my package out at Staples since I was already there, but when the lady told me this UPS Store is known for being pretty rude to their customers and lying about the printing story, I ended up going there and dropping it off with the intent to complain to the lady for being so condescending but another lady waited on me instead so I just dropped it off without saying anything and left. It's been a number of years since I've been treated like this by a business, but after thinking about it I'm considering lodging a complaint to UPS the corporation. I'm sure it wouldn't do any good, but at the very least I think their UPS store franchises should be expected to maintain a level of service (and customer treatment) that at least meets UPS standards. read more

This location is getting worse, service-wise. I agree with the other reviewer. Several times we went there to return an Amazon item, and they were closed. At that time the sign said 1:30-2:30. Fine, we returned after we did other errands. About a week later we had something else to return and we were there at 1:10 and they were closed again for whatever. And there were many people in the short time we were there, that pulled up, walked to the door and had to leave. Very irritating. The staff can be rude, as well. I brought a box in to mail back to Amazon. The box was not taped shut because I thought it wasn't needed, as most items that we return. The guy that was there smacked the box and snapped '11 bucks to tape the box!' Nice way to treat a customer. In the last month or so they just hang a sign on the door and leave for lunch or whatever. Can't tell when it's going to be. One time it was like 12:30 to 2:00 another time 1:45 to 2:30.....seems to be no set time. Some days I think they stay open. Makes it difficult if you're driving some distance and not knowing if they're going to be open or not when you get there. So, just a heads up everyone. My mom and I refuse to come to this store because of one of the ladies who is always working the front desk. Her name is Christy I believe. I unfortunately had to stop in today to drop something off, and of course she was there again. She's always rude, blames every little thing on the customer, and gets super snotty if you so much as say something about her terrible attitude to her. Seeing someone who is a face of UPS treat customers like crap is not a good look, and this is coming from someone who works for UPS. TERRIBLE service. My mom visited in July and bought some things that didn't fit in her suitcase for her flight home so my fiancé sent them out from this location. UPS subsequently lost the package (around $130-145 worth of items), and after weeks and weeks of fighting them, filing a claim, countless time on the phone, and providing documentation asked for, we still have not received any sort of refund. At the very least we should be refunded the amount paid to have the items shipped, ~$50... let alone any sort of reimbursement for the products that UPS lost. Further, the corporate office continues to redirect us to the store we had the package shipped from and they have been nothing but inconsiderate and incompetent. How is it acceptable to treat customers like this? I hope you listen to your Yelp reviews better than you listen to customers on the phone and in person. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before going to this store. I had exactly the same experience as so many others have described. I don't usually leave reviews, but the customer service here was so bad I feel especially inclined to write. I had a package to send with a prepaid shipping label already printed out to be taped on the box and an RA number to write "on all sides of the box" as per my instructions. I told her these things. I was first annoyed that it was going to cost me $1 for them to tape the box shut (really?!). Maybe that's standard for UPS stores, so I won't blame them for that. The two employees behind the counter (don't know names) seemed irritated at my request to tape the box shut in the first place. Then acted the entire time completely disconnected from me. She took the box in one hand, took my packing list, grabbed some tape, and said I could go as she walked away from me. Honestly, it would've been nice to see her tape the box up and write my RA number on it. A smile or acting like she cared might've gone a long way too. While I was in the store, the other employee was talking in an extremely condescending tone to another customer in the store. The customer was being nothing but polite, but the employee "helping" her was being rude and appeared extremely irritated in whatever she was explaining. I got in the car and, 5 minutes later, realized I never gave her the RA number to write on the box. I called the store, and a thin voice on the other line answered. I was polite, told her my name and that I had just been in to ship a box but forgot to give the RA number to write on all sides. She seemed irritated and asked for the number. I gave it to her, and her response was, "OK" just before she hung up. It's hard to explain just how bitter, uninterested, and condescending the employees are there. The more I think about it, I have zero confidence that my package will make it to its intended destination. Do yourself a favor and go to a different UPS store. Or the FedEx 2 minutes up the road if you can. They're great up there. I would give this UPS store zero stars if I could. read more

23 February I received the WORST customer service of my life at your store on 102 E Kimberly Rd, Davenport, Iowa. I went in with one package ready to ship that I had packed myself and a canvas picture to be packaged and shipped. I regularly LOVE this service and have used it in my home state of California with great success. This was a tough day for me as my Dad had passed away a few days prior and the picture was of him walking me down the isle at my wedding. I patiently waited for nearly 25 mins as the woman tried to calculate the box size and cost. During this process she asked for a colleague to double check and she stated that she needed a bigger box and that there had to be 2 inches of peanuts around the entire picture. She recalculated with a lot of struggle and as they measured and remeasured they slid the picture side of my canvas on the counter without much mind to protecting it. They even pushed it aside to help another customer as the clerk was still figuring the box size. I pick up my picture and told the lady I would just like to buy a box to ship my picture- that I would pack it myself. I paid for the one box I packed bought another box for $7.48 and left feeling very upset with the treatment. I went home and wrapped and packed my picture in bubble wrap and newspaper and made it back to the store right before closing to ship. When I arrived, I was asked if this was the canvas that was brought in earlier none of the girls who where there at 1:30 were there at this time -it was a different woman, I thought at first it was nice they were expecting me. Then she informed me that she wouldn't ship my box because she knew that it was not packed properly. That I needed 2 inches of peanuts in there and box I purcased wouldn't accomodate? Are you kidding me! I was shocked I didn't know what to say! They had sold me the box! Why wouldn't they have informed me when they sold me the box! They didn't check my other packed box? It had no peanuts or packing inside! This practice is nuts! This service is horrible. I told the lady I about the staff sliding my picture across the counter and having no regard for its protection but now they are not going to ship it in their own box! Consistently rude and unfriendly, to both myself and other customers I have seen in the store. They consistently act like any question you ask is a complete inconvenience for them and that you are straight taking up their time standing there in the store trying to get service. Even though their job should be to help you! I am a USAA customer so the ONLY reason I ever go into either the Kimberly rd. or Devils Glen location is for that. Today, I went into the store to deposit a check, from a company I have received many checks from before. The lady tried to get the check to go through the machine, and then after a few times, told me "sorry, I think the numbers on the check are too high, that happens sometimes" and hands the check back to me. There have been multiple times with this same employee that she wasn't able to process my check and needed another employee to process it for her. Since no one was there, she simply handed me back the check. I went to the other UPS store on Devils Glen and she was able to process it NO PROBLEM. Had to drive 25 minutes across town to cash the check. What a waste of time. Wish USAA would expand the businesses who accept their checks to be deposited in store to save me the trouble of using their 'services'. read more

There was a long line when I was there and one clerk was busy with a customer while another stood around waiting for a customer to print a label. She did not help this person and the printer wasn't working. But did she acknowledge any of us in line like asking if we had quick drop offs (which I did!)? No! While I could see traces of all the customer service problems, it wasn't too bad for me. I was shipping a jeep soft top, so probably 4 or 5 feet long and 30 pounds. They were mostly helpful in getting an estimate for it, and even when I determined it would cost me too much to ship, they gave me some packing paper and some large spare cardboard boxes so I could maybe rig together my own box so I wouldn't have to pay that part when I came back. Do not go to this store!!!! Not only are they rude but none of the employers there are wearing masks due to the COVID-19. They don't even have a sign up saying customers need to wear a mask. However all the East Moline employers at the UPS store are wearing masks & so are all their customers. This place just doesn't care about your health. Don't try to get something notarized without an appointment. Then when I tried to make an appointment I was told I had to call to make an appointment...even though I was already standing in the store. Another employee piped up and said you can usually go to any bank to get something notarized. That employee was nice and helpful. read more

Terrible customer service. The day I shipped my package 3 people were turned away because "our boss handles that". That should've been my first clue. They shipped my package and forgot to put a suite # in and I never received an email with a tracking number. The next day my customer called wanting his package THAT is when I discovered the screw up. The customer took care of making the arrangements so he actually received the package. I wen to the store and nobody working had the authority to help because "our boss takes care of that". The boss was unavailable by phone. They wanted me to fill out a 2 page form and wait 2-3 weeks for a credit. The owner of this store needs to empower the employees to do something other than take money. There is one particular individual who works here who is rude and never helpful. Today I went in to ship some pre-paid returns out. I needed to purchase a box for one, and asked for a box, but was given a bubble mailer. I (wrongly) assumed the employee did this to save me money. The box was $1.99 and the mailer was $3.99, which I found out after I reminded her to ring me up for the purchased mailer. I asked why she suggested the mailer over the box and she explained that with packing and preparing, the box would have cost more. I asked if the box would need to be packed because I was only shipping back clothing, and she said yes. At this point another employee stepped in and said that the clothing just needs to be in bags. I said that they were and that the original employee packed the mailer so she was aware of this. The employee who stepped in then said they charge to tape the box and I then showed her the tape that I had brought from home, which the original employee saw me using. The employee who stepped in simply said "that's why I let them pick their own" and the original employee said "sorry". It was a $2 difference which is slightly annoying but absolutely not the end of the world- I'm annoyed that nobody offered to make it right in any way, and on top of that, I've had issues with the original employee before. Everyone had bad days, but this individual is just rude and either doesn't know what's going on or is trying to ship your items in the most costly way possible. The Bettendorf store is better, but honestly I'd just suggest using USPS when possible. I've had one issue with them and they resolved it immediately, unlike this store. read more

All I can say is WOW...and not in a good way. The problem here starts with the fact that they use their return address for their shipping labels....why? If a package were needing returned, why would it be returned there? Baffling. So this is what happened: A friend of mine who lives in that area shipped me something to Colorado a few months back (she makes the BEST salsa in the world!) to my home. I wanted to surprise her with a Valentine's day gift of some very expensive truffles. So, my fault, instead of checking her address with her (again this was suppose to be a surprise and she lives on the same street as this store) I shipped it to the return address on the label thinking that it was correct. As you can guess, nope. It wasn't. So in tracking the package I saw it was delivered by USPS and stated it was handed directly to a resident. In calling this store, I spoke to one of the employees and she was very rude when I asked to speak to her manager and clearly has no concept of customer service. Whatever. I called back this morning to speak to the boss (Pat) and she stated she couldn't help me. That she was there when the mail was delivered on the day in question and she received no packages to the person it was to be delivered to. She tried to pass it off as if it were delivered to a different store in the strip mall and it happens all the time. I said that was an unacceptable answer. She then said I wasn't the first person this has happened to and if it were in her store, she would have tried to get it to its rightful owner and there is just nothing there. I suspect that this package was stolen, as it was full of very fancy truffles, and well, V-day is right around the corner. The staff here is rude, unhelpful, and obviously unable to do their jobs. I am going so far as to speak to the franchise owner, above her, as soon as I can get their information since of course she wasn't going to give it to me.
