Usually my experience at a UPS is far better than the USPS. Today's adventure to the UPS store was only slightly different. Staff members were professional and courteous. Services were rendered quickly, accurately, and concisely. All my questions were answered efficiently and calmly. I was confused how so many people can be working in the store, but only one person can help customers. Mad props to the one customer service agent who was KILLING it. But why is another in the back just talking to someone else? Clean store. Each printer/copier has a name. I found that humorous. Lots of great services available, but be prepared to pay. read more

I've used the UPS store a few times for returning prepaid packages and it's been fairly quick. It's a tiny little store and with social distancing for so long, it can be fairly uncomfortable to be in there, especially during the winter. I turned around and came back another time because I didn't like standing right next to the door for so long. It does seem like every time I have been in there, it takes quite a while to get through the line. I haven't personally had to pay for UPS shipping in there, however while I was waiting my turn, a gal was trying to ship a fairly small box, apparently filled with some sort of ice cube trays and it was going to be $36 for ground shipping! Yikes! Almost needless to say, but she left with her box in hand with those rates. Once at the counter, which took about 10 minutes with 3 people in front of me, it went quickly. I showed her the QR code and handed her the item to return. One receipt printed, she dropped it into the bag and handed me another. Easy peasy and I was out the door. Obviously this is the preferred return method for certain shippers, but with the prices, I doubt I will pay to ship anything via UPS myself and just continue to use flat rate boxes at the post office. read more

So I had a document I needed to be sent on a Monday to arrive on a Wednesday. UPS had already picked up for the day so I told the lady it needed to be sent out overnight to get there on Wednesday because it technically would not go out until Tuesday but she insisted that second day air would still get it there Wednesday because only the overnight service gets picked up by 1 PM and sure enough the next day I get texted that my documents are not arriving until Thursday. You cannot trust this place to do anything on time. It is the third time they have messed up overnighting something because the employees they are have no idea what they're doing. read more

I dropped a family history book off at this location on 10/19 and was told that I would get a call when it was done. After several weeks and no phone call, I dropped in to see if it was done. They hadn't even started printing it! The young lady I spoke to said that she would get it printed as soon as she could and that she would call me when t was completed. True to her word she called me a couple of days later. I went in today to pick it up, I had to wait (along with several other customers) to cash out because only 1 register was working, 20 minutes later I was checked out! I won't be using this business in the future for my printing or shipping needs. read more

What a joke. They can have 3 people working, but only take care of one customer at a time while 2 others who are literally dropping off boxes have to wait while the other two avoid eye contact and chat in the back. I'll drive to anchorage before dealing with that level of customer service. The owners response is a joke too. There were 2 teenage girls in the back, and one older lady working. The two teenagers were busy having a conversation instead of working, and when the little snot finally did come over, I could tell she was intentionally being as slow as possible, because her and her friend were giggling about it. There was no training going on. Your managers allow your staff to be rude and insult customers, and I still won't be back. read more

I have used these guys off and on for years but today they went above and beyond to help me out, from printing things from my phone, to faxing, to printing copies , and so much more. I was having a lot of difficulties and spending a lot of time trying to figure it all out. While I was waiting many customers came in, very nice customers and very mean and rude customers, I feel some of these rude two star and three star reviews have come from these r use to begin with customers. Customer service is fine but NOT worth the cost. $312! Let me repeat: THREE HUNDRED and twelve dollars. To ship what? You ask. A small, empty dog kennel. A dog kennel that weighs 13 lbs and is for small - medium dogs. $312!! My boyfriend paid the cost and shipped it because he wanted to be done with the kennel (we recently bought a pup from out of state and needed to send it back to their kennel) but had I been in there or heard the cost we would have gone elsewhere. That is an absurd amount of money for something that's not terribly large and literally only weighs 13lbs. read more

Won't be using this store again. I made a special trip so I could support my local eagle river store on my way to work a few days ago. I had a box to return and had mislaid my parcel tape. I asked the lady on duty who seemed to have difficulty with a congenial greeting when I walked in, if she could tape it up. She said I could either buy my own tape or she would do it and charge me. Needless to say I left and will be using the UPS store in anchorage from now on which has 5 star reviews. So sad that a piece of tape that probably cost 2 cents has stopped the store getting my future business for parcels, printing and business cards. read more

Poor customer service. I have been in the Eagle River UPS Store three times this week. I was at the store earlier in the day having some documents printed. I was told they could scan my documents and email them. I specifically returned to the store for that reason. I was quoted a price for this service. The worker tried scanning the pages and then came back to me and said their scanner/computer was not working so they could not email them. I asked her if they could fax the documents. She stated they could and she took the documents again. When all was said and done, the fax was going to cost $12 in comparison to about $4 for the email. She did not tell me the cost was different, nor did I ask (shame on me). However, when I asked for an adjustment, since it was not my fault that their equipment was not working properly and I had to use an alternative, she asked the manager. Her response was "the price is the price." There was a gentleman in the store who was retired Air Force and asked if he could use his military discount. The manager gave me 10% off so my transaction only cost $6-7 more than I planned (a 100%+ increase, it would have been triple without the 10% off). I understand they are in a business to make money, but the extra dollars they received would not impact their business as much as it impacts their customer. I give a lot of credit to businesses who go out of their way for their customers. The UPS Store did not do that and will not be my first choice for services in the future. read more
