We hired Relocators to move my elderly mom from AK to OR state. It was an extremely tricky job for…read moremany reasons, and we needed some special assistance that required skill and experience on their part. They are NOT an experienced company. There was no formal quote. The "owners" bickered and argued about who was the owner. They misrepresented their service to us several times and never told us what the final price would be until our stuff was ON THE WAY HERE. They parked a truck in front of the house in AK but didn't get any permits; when they were forced to move the truck they did so WITH NO WORD TO US. The truck just...... drove off one day. We thought we were being robbed! But no. It was The Relocators moving the truck to....... where? we still don't know. When I reached out to Deborah about it she said she was leaving town the next day and "Leo" would take care of us. Who is Leo? We didn't know. It took her 2 days to get Leo's contact info to us, and she was snippy and disrespectful in doing so. I was in a crowded noisy place when we were trying to communicate via phone; I asked her to text me instead and her comment was, "The phone works both ways." I didn't hear from her again until 2 days later. Our agreement was that the contents of the truck would be undisturbed, not opened until arrival in OR state. When the truck arrived in OR, it was in a different truck. We had items go missing, including a proprietary shelf to a stereo cabinet. When I asked Deborah about the shelf, she had no plan, no protocol for this situation. She asked me, "What do you want me to do about it?" As of now we have no use of that cabinet due to the missing shelf. A problem for another time. Finally, the billing. Dan misrepresented this process to us more than once, creating even more stress than it was already. He quoted us a service fee to process a cc payment, then said he would waive it. Then he reapplied it without explanation and when I questioned it he accused me of trying to rip them off! Dan was SO OFFENSIVE that I had to deal with Deborah, who wasn't much better. When the rep for the mover shows up in high heels, toenail polish, hollywood hair and lashes..... she's beautiful but she's a MOVER. It didn't inspire confidence, is all. NOT shaming the lady, just saying it looked unpro. This company probably would do well with small moves, or just one big ticket item. But they just don't have the procedures and operations in order to move a large, difficult job like ours. Their price was reasonable, but the way we were treated, and the fact that some of our stuff never made it here, that I cannot recommend this company.

I noticed last week that my Passport had expired in September. Upon Googling for providers in Anchorage, only Castech seemed able to help. And in fact, their website states that they will pretty much "get you sorted no matter what" which isn't quite how they order it, but that's how i took it. Anyway, i went over there today, and it seems a small family business, and i landed in there literally 1 minute before they were closing for lunch, so i offered to return after lunch. The lady was very sweet, and told me to come on back. She took my photo very quickly, and uploaded it, whilst she asked the gentleman what the British passport photo requirement was, and he knew it without having to look it up, which I am very impressed about, because i didn't have a clue. As i needed either a code to input on my online application, or to digitally upload it myself, i asked if it could be emailed to me. No problem at all. The cost was reasonable, we chose the most attractive photo, i was given a business card, in case anything went wrong, i paid and left (apologizing for rudely turning up at lunchtime) I got home, and uploaded my photo to the online application, and it was slightly too large for the UK required size, so I called Castech, and they instantly made it the right size, and emailed a new photo. It came within a couple of minutes of me calling. I am filled with admiration. I mean, this is how a business SHOULD be run. Super fast, knowledgeable service, i felt that I as a customer, had been put first, they wanted to help me, and instantly fixed the size requirement. I am so impressed by this small business, and have no hesitation in recommending their services, for Passport Photos for us foreigners. Bravo.

This is a review for the DMV location at University Center on Ingra Street…read more I had to renew my Driver's License, and decided I'd go all fancy and get a Real ID, so I checked their website to see what documents I'd need, and that's where I discovered you could make an appointment. I didn't know if having an appointment would get me seen any faster, and the next available appointment was 3 days from when I booked, but that's ok, as my license doesn't expire until end of March. The emailed instructions said to check in at the information desk, or one of the kiosks. I put in my phone number as instructed in the email, and it printed out a ticket number. I rolled my eyes aggressively at it, thinking "I could have just gotten a ticket number from the regular machine" HOWEVER, the actual second the ticket was printing out, my number was actually being called at the booth. And I also got a text message too. I go to the desk, and Shiela/Sheila was super helpful. I had an eye test, I had to answer a couple of questions, provide some documents as proof of where I live, and my Legal Permanent Resident card, and that's about all she needed, despite the fact that their website told me I'd need to bring Birth Certificate, proof of name changes etc. I in fact had a big fat envelope full of stuff, "just in case" I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. I paid my $40 and got a receipt, I think that's pretty good for Real ID. I was then directed to desk number 1 for a picture. The lady at desk number 1 was also very helpful and sweet, and she had an awesome sleeve. She checked my receipt, took my picture, even told me it was an awesome picture (I appreciate the kindness) and printed my temporary license telling me my full license card would be mailed and I'd have it in 2-3 weeks. All in all a painless experience, compared to previous visits where I've waited a very long time. Even this office seems a lot cleaner, airier, just more pleasant all round. I think back when I passed my drivers test, I took it over at the old location by Spenard. Anyway, so yeah, in and out in 15 minutes, I don't think you could beat that, so I recommend making an appointment for sure.
