I was here over 30 minutes, which is probably never a good thing when you're coming to a UPS store…read more Customer service was absolutely terrible, treated me like I wasn't even there for about 20 minutes. Staff seems solely focused on checking in and taking in packages, clearly other services in the store come second or third. On the bright side, if you're dropping off a package you're making an Amazon return. It seems fairly swift and the staff will take care of you. The fingerprinting program was troublesome and ended up, redoing each finger a number of times. Completely not user-friendly. I guess this is compounded by the fact that I've literally taken hundreds and hundreds of fingerprints of other people, and it took me like 30 tries to do my own, and that's estimating on the low side. Absolutely zero help or assistance from the folks working in the store. Will use a store in Mobile in the future, will not use this location again.

*I sent this exact complaint to UPS Complaint Department AND I have emailed the local store…read more UPS Store # 4968 Drop-off Date/Time 3537 Denny Ave Tue 12 Sep 2023 12:58 PM Pascagoula, MS 39581-5416 Subject: Customer Service / Employee name DALTON People involved with this interaction: Employee A, myself and Dalton I entered the Pascagoula UPS store at approximately 12:50 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. My intention was to return 5 items to Amazon. Three packages were bagged in the original package/bag sent by Amazon and two were in the original box that was sent by Amazon. Two of my items required a scan of a bar code on my phone and the other three required a printed return label, that I had. Upon laying all of my items on the counter, I started interacting with Employee A. Let him know that I had three labels and the other two were on my phone. He picked up one of my bagged items and walked to the back (or away from the counter) and asked another employee (I now know the second employee's name is Dalton) if he could "accept" this packaging this way. Dalton, walking towards the counter, replied "We can not accept this in the plastic bag." I said, "That is the original bag that it came in, why can't you take it back?" Employee A said. "It could get jammed in a conveyor belt when we send it back." I replied, "Are you saying that this package didn't go through a conveyor belt on its way to me?" Employee A said, "Probably not." *I am so confused at this point. Dalton then said, "It's policy." I responded, "Since when? I'm in here every week returning items to Amazon packaged just like this - in the original package. A lady helped me last week. I had these exact clear plastic bags that they were originally shipped in. She didn't have a problem." Dalton wanted to know "Who did it?". Of course, there is no way that I would know who helped me last week. By this time there were two more customers in the store. I told Dalton that I didn't know who helped me, but I know it's been done. He said, "It's an Amazon policy, not ours." During this entire encounter Dalton becomes more aggressive in tone and in no way offers a solution to this situation. Not a boxing option or anything. He clearly doesn't care that I am upset. In fact, he seems pretty happy with himself. Dalton is now helping another customer and apparently pleased that he has the audience that he wants. He then says in a very sarcastic tone (WHILE helping another customer), "You are welcome to file a complaint if you like." And I replied, "Don't worry, I will." I turn my attention back to Employee A, who is helping me with my packages. And I say to him, "When we are done, I need to get his name." Dalton completely interrupts his conversation with HIS customer, snapped his head around and said "DALTON! My name is DALTON!" I replied, "I wasn't talking to you." He said, "You were talking about me!" I replied, "BUTT OUT" Once my transaction was complete and Employee A handed me my receipt, I asked for a pen to write Dalton's name down. He looked at Dalton and Dalton said "We do not have a pen." (Again... confused b/c you are UPS) I handed the receipt back to Employee A and then tried to hand it to Dalton and asked for them to write Dalton's name down for me. They refused. Dalton said (with a smile) "We are not allowed to write our name down for anyone." I told him not to worry, I would remember it. Upon leaving, I checked the packaging instructions given to me by Amazon for BOTH packages they wouldn't accept. Neither of them said a word about being wrapped in plastic bags or NOT wrapped in plastic bags. If you are doing the math, I came into the store with three plastic bags to return and left with two. Why were they able to take one plastic bag and not the other? ALL bags were original packaging. This situation was handled SO horrible. I was berated there in the lobby by Dalton in front of everyone. I hardly think this is the customer service that UPS expects out of its employees. Having said that, I do understand the desperation of finding employees in this market. Clearly there was an error in judgment with this hire. Dalton may have interviewed well, but he is not someone that should represent UPS on the front lines.
