I used to live in Newport for several years and during that time I have utilized their services for: passport pictures, used the computer (when mine was on the fritz), sent out faxes and packages. Sure it costs money but when in a jam, it is nice to know that there is a place close by with friendly people to help you out. I also found the prices for sending out packages to be very affordable. I would bring my items to be shipped, they would pick out the appropriate materials, pack it and send it out. Really can't beat the service. read more

I will start by saying I have NEVER written a review of anything...literally; that's how bad my husband and I's experience was. To sum it up, my husband and I had VERY important documents that needed to be over nighted for his visa application to our lawyer. We were told the price for overnight shipping and it was quite expensive. We then asked what the price would be if we split the documents into 2 packages for overnight shipping. The price was significantly cheaper so we went with that option. We found out today the lawyer never received the documents. Why? UPS marked our order for 2-DAY shipping (which reviewing the receipt we realized that's what they charged us for). Awesome. Our package didn't get there on time, and come to find out we ended up paying twice as much for 2 day shipping, which we never wanted/asked for in the first place, because we split the documents. Don't know if that makes sense, but basically we feel totally scammed. Worst part about it? We went back today to resolve it with the same employees that helped us yesterday, also spoke to the manager, and they acted like we were the idiots and there was nothing they could do about it. A very bad experience. The staff is unprofessional and need some training. Came here for notary service and had to print a page. I took not more than 10 seconds to print a page and they charged me $3 for using a computer. Seriously ? Staff is OK and the wait on weekdays is not too bad. Weekends can get busy. Not very well stocked with a variety of supplies.

All I needed to do was drop off a prepaid package and get a receipt - apparently this is something difficult in some places like PostNet nearby (the owner is not willing to scan any packages until the end of the day). At the UPS store it was quick and easy. I was in and out in 1 minute. Wow. I see a lot of complaints here about pricing - here's a suggestion. Check prices online first. Know that it will cost more in the store and be ok with that if you are too lazy to do it online. For me it's about saving time - it's faster when I can do it online. I also prefer to be green and reuse instead getting new boxes, of course who has space to store a bunch of leftover boxes. That's better for the environment and your pocket. Staples is close by and also ships UPS if you prefer them. If you have a problem with an employee being rude or not doing their job, just write a complaint to UPS. Ultra rude and borderline incompetent staff. Despite a number of such negative reviews on here and I don't think UPS cares about bettering it's customer facing service. I just about now went to get a couple of documents scanned and I spoke to this gent who was more focussed on eating chips. In his drawly tone he told me how much it'd cost and I politely agreed saying I'm aware of the costs. He rudely shot back saying "I ain't sayin' you ain't done this before". I don't think he expected me to stand my own - I firmly asked him what was that tone for? And I shot back if this was a conversation about what I've done and what I haven't? He whimpered and hurriedly asked me the documents that needed to be scanned. I've frequented to quick drop off items and at times seen them crack rude jokes or say nasty things to others. My reaction was perhaps a build up. And oh, he did scan the documents wrongly anyway! Note to UPS management: If you are going to employ a bunch of rude bullies with frail diva like egos, you might reconsider naming yourselves United Pissoff Service! This place is where customer service goes to die. Came back a second time thinking that the people who worked here would have shifted in a period of a few months but they're all just really incompetent and rude. Said 5$ minimum for credit card even though it's not posted anywhere in store. First time I came to mail something they said I needed to provide my email address in addition to my ID for proof of pickup even though the website clearly says a drivers license and tracking number are sufficient. The "manager" proceeded to follow me out of the store to take back my pickup because I wouldn't provide my personal email. read more

Had a problem uploading a doc to print and even though I tried multiple times I kept getting a 500 Error message. Called to see if I could print in the store but was told I would be charged a higher fee per page plus the ridiculous $3 computer charge. I don't see why as a customer I should be charged a higher fee when there is a problem with the upload function. I was below the size limit and at 120 pages. They said it was working fine on their side which is all well and good but doesn't fix my problem. They made it clear that even if I went to the store and had the same problem there, there was no way to waive the computer fee or be charged the online fee vs the higher in store fee. Decided not to waste my time and going forward I'm avoiding UPS at all costs and going to FedEx or honestly anywhere else. Terrible business practices. read more

I would given it "zero" stars if I could.....all this Guy named Lenny had to do, was let me pack my package inside the store..I bought the box, he said it was crowded...and I was not permitted to box my package in the store....so I went outside to do it.....then I came back...waiting for my wife, because she had the money, I decided to put some more bubble wrap...now there is nobody in the store at this point...I bought the wrap, and started to open my package and just put some added padding....Lenny said you cannot wrap your package inside the store mean while The package totaling including the box and bubble wrap $120...when I got home I called the cooperate office and also store manager named Arron....He was just as dumb as Lenny. I returned to the store to ship something back to Amazon...I said "that wasn't nice what you did to me yesterday". Lenny's response " I don't know what your talking about sir". Real smart....great customer service....then all of a sudden he got his memory refreshed when I said you should have let me wrap my package...He said store policy...I said where is the sign....NO SIGNS.....NO SIGN states "you can't box your own package". I even defended Lenny yesterday, this passer by asked me "why don't you wrap your package inside?"....so I said because he won't let me it's too crowded...he said "a What a di@k".
