I Just wanted to thank Josh and staff for some excellent follow up and customer service regarding a package that I incorrectly mislabeled. The package made it to California and back. On its return I received a call letting me know that the item arrived. I went in the next day but the agent, new and busy, couldn't find it. I left. I brought in a large item to be packed and shipped by the store. I insured it for $500, which was the actual cost. it arrived at its destination it was broken beyond repair. not surprised since it wasn't packed properly. it was packed up in 2 boxes. instead of wrapping the concentrator in bubble wrap, there was only bubble wrap around the inner box. it took 4 months to get a (partial only) refund only and that was with numerous calls, visits to the store and emails. I never did get the full refund. I was shorted about $90, the packing fee, despite the posts on their website guaranteeing their packing. the manager (Eric) was rude & combative, yelling at me & my husband with a room full of customers. he didn't care. I sent design via their online site to be printed here for a presentation. Considering the area not that busy during the afternoon. I arrived and I could see my printouts visible on the counter. Being that I spoke to a person the day before confirming they were completed I was a little concerned. After reviewing all which was ok I was good to go. However, I did not receive even a folder to take them home, and luckily I brought my portfolio case that's 11x17! In addition, customer service was lacking A LOT, the guy was sitting in the back texting when I walked in, and didn't say a word or look up. Finally while I was still standing there he put his phone away, and walked over to work with me. While I was reviewing my printouts he sat back down, and went back to texting. Idk, maybe I might have wanted someone to be paid to make sure I was definitely pleased, and to see if I needed anything else before a text... just a thought. read more

I arrived at the UPS Store in Long Beach only minutes before 7 pm with 7 prepaid packages for which I needed receipts. They were literally walking to the door to lock it, but then after my helper asked them to wait for me to carry the bulk of my packages into the store They graciously waited until I got all my packages up on the counters. Then one of the two guys working started helping me right away and scanned some of my packages. As soon as the other employee was available he finished scanning the remaining packages at another terminal. I thanked them profusely because I needed to get them out of my vehicle ASAP so that I could pick up my child from college and fill my car with a whole dorm room full of items that had to fit in to take home. Upon my thank you one of the two fellows working said to me: "No problem. Don't worry.". Btw, this occurred on Wed evening May 10. I asked the guys their names and they did tell me. I must apologize for my senior brain. I forget their names. Ho​wever if you are the franchisee running this store, both you and the public should know how wonderful your staff is. I go into this store with some frequency, and they are always nice, and helpful. I recall when the store first opened, it was not my favorite UPS. I avoided it. For the last several years, since the franchisee/owner changed it is always.a good experience. So if you are reading old negative reviews it was probably from the time of the pror owner's tenure. After a recent policy change at this UPS Store, I'm going to have to revise my review. The new practice of charging $1 to tape up a package is absolutely larcenous. For ~6 linear inches of tape they're going to charge you. Additionally, please ensure that you stay and watch personnel properly affix your shipping label onto your package. I'd had a package go missing in UPS' system when I dropped it off with a pre-printed label and the counter employee assured me that he would put it into an envelope and attach it to the package. Admittedly - as I'd written earlier - I don't use this store for a lot. I have pre-printed labels, and packages, and they are the means of conveyance of those packages into UPS' shipping system. They should be capable of doing a better job performing even that small of a task. read more

I just paid $16.30 to fax 11 pages. $2.50 for the 1st and $1.25 for each additional. And tax, of course. I must take responsibility for my own stupidity in not asking what the rates were to fax documents before I handed them over. With that responsibility comes an even greater one, which is to implore you to go ANYWHERE ELSE to fax something. Frankly, I will never give them business again now that I now they price gouge. bonus tip: if you're faxing something confidential, I would step away from the counter to fill out the cover sheet. I am not implying that anyone was trying to look at my documents but I think you would feel more comfortable if the clerk wasn't standing right over you while you fill it out. read more

I have been using this location for many years. I went to the Long Beach UPS store 3/21/2017 around 2 pm. The clerk said no hello ...but did say "you can't use this envelope, what's in here." I replied " a check...I don't feel comfortable, saying that, we are in America." OK fine that is easily remedied, change the envelope, and mail it. Bye. This clerk said that my statement was a racist statement. I am not a racist period. My meaning is that people have been stealing then washing checks, basically all kinds of stuff I don't want to deal with...just being safe...WITH MY CHECK. FYI the store had a good mix of people in it, and that was great, the people either commented to him, he was wrong , or smiled at me, agreeing with me. Also for the people who need to know I am American Indian/Scottish....my guess is the clerk respectfully was Indian. WOW ...I DO NOT run around town slinging racist statements. Employee postage error, owner refusal to take ownership of the mistake, owner talking over me to deny responsibility, didn't call back to update me on the problem as we'd agreed, hung up on me when I confronted him on not calling me, and, finally and most outrageous of all, this owner took it upon himself to send my envelope, which he knew contained time-sensitive docs and checks that were already late because of the employee's initial mistake, and posted it it regular first class. A package was mistakenly delivered to my door. The address was to a multi-apartment dwelling and there was no apartment number on it. I live very close to the UPS store so I brought it there. The attendant refused to take care of the package. Instead he proceeded to provide lengthy instructions that included calling UPS, entering code numbers, my address, the destination address, etc. I stopped him and told him that I was trying to help UPS and was not going to go through much more inconvenience to do so. He said that he could not "help" me and I could discard the boxes. I was astonished at the lack of concern for his own company and customers. I was not a UPS customer looking for help. read more

A lot of people dumping on UPS store here for their bizarre problems. Put simply: they will take your packages and even help you package things without charging you extra, You can usually park in front and IF, IF-- there isn't a PITA, sending 12 faxes to 13 locations or someone who has to dig in their purse for 5 minutes to find 32 cents for the bill you should be done inside of 3 minutes. read more

If i could give this store zero stars I would. Spent $209 to ship 2 packages overnight on 12/6. I had no choice but to spend this insane amount of money because i was shipping food. Even though I brought these packages to the store at 11:52am they somehow never made the truck that night. My packages were finally delivered on 12/11 and of course the food was spoiled. I spent 45 mins on the phone with UPS to be told I had to go to the store to get a refund. I went to the store, and the young man who "helped" me was extremely rude. I was told I would receive a refund via check from UPS in approximately 1 week. I was told the $30 claim i made for the spoiled food would take about 30 days. It's January 2nd and I have yet to receive even a refund. The owner should do a better job training these employees who don't seem to care. I will never use UPS again, and I caution anyone using this store. read more

Do NOT support this local business! It's unfortunate because it's the only ups location in Long Beach, but they are awful! I went in to ship fragile items including dishes, and even called before hand to let them know what I was bringing in and looking to achieve. They didn't even look into the bags or weigh my items and gave me a quote of over 350 dollars! So I asked some questions, and said we can definitely use a smaller box if they pack and ship. I had fragile but small items. The CHILD behind the counter said he won't ship it in any other box other than the one he quoted me for, without even looking at what I had and just walked away. He gave me no other options. So I opted to just pack it myself. After asking for several different size boxes since they had nothing in stock, the other co-worker brought me a box and I told him I would pack it and see what was left to fill and what we could put the rest of the items into a second box... after I taped and started packing my box that the coworker gave me to be able to pack in the shop, the very rude incompetent employee, walks by, doesn't even look at me and says you can't pack here and just kept walking away. And gave me no choices to ship my items that I dragged into the store in the pouring rain. I had a flight to catch and no longer live here in Long Beach. I was taking items from my previous house to ship across the country to my new one. What other choice did I have?! It was 4:30pm. They were just plain awful. No one even offered to help carry my items after they pretty much forced me out of the store. Hello! your a shipping company! You're supposed to accommodate people who need things shipped and are willing to give you hundreds of dollars to do so. If you have anything to ship that requires thought, do not use this place. If you need any kind of assistance besides handing over a packing and money, don't use this store, Your better off going to staples and leaving it with usps. I wound up paying 150.00 in a much smaller box than what they wanted to put my items in. These new owners know nothing about community, being a local establishment and have absolutely no business being in Long Beach. This place is LUCKY that I don't have the option to give "NEGATIVE STARS!!!" I had a package being delivered for my Fiancé on Valentines day. I had everything all set. I was tracking the package every step of the way. Next thing I know, when I track it, in bright green lettering, it states "Delivered - Front Door." So of course I run out, looking at the front door, the side door, looking literally everywhere. Literally walked around the entire house 3 times, couldn't find it for the life of me. I'm still trying to find out just what happened with this package that was supposedly "Delivered." Plus, it's not like it was a small box. It was only about 1-2 pounds but it was probably about 1 foot, by 1 foot, by 1 foot.....so with that said....it would be EXTREMELY hard to miss. In addition, there wasn't even a tab on the door to say that they "attempted delivery." Furthermore, I even checked with the surrounding neighbors to see if maybe they picked it up, but they didn't have it either. Keep in mind, this is a really good area, as far as I know, no crimes happen.....I truly don't believe that any package was delivered......and if one was, it definitely wouldn't have been picked up by any neighbor for safe keeping, and IF they DID do that, they'd at least leave a note saying, "hey, I have your package.....i'm at ____address." It's really not right how this was handled. read more
