A word of caution about the UPS store at 13033 Ridgedale Drive and pardon my rant. I recently shipped a 8 oz package to my son in Vancouver. The UPS store charged me $48 for this. I was astounded but paid the fee to ship it. I checked on the status of the package and it said that I needed to pay another $139 to have the package delivered due to tariffs, etc. I called Jen Chyrkulund, the owner of the store and she called me back and said there's nothing that can be done. She said that UPS and the UPS store have no affiliation. I asked what I paid $48 was for and she said that it was to ship it to Canada. There was no transparency whatsoever and Jen told me there's nothing more she could do about. I kind of feel like I just boarded a flight that I had paid for and told mid flight that the ticket price went up 270% and I had to pay to land. I understand these are tenuous times between countries, but businesses need to do better in terms of transparency and accountability. Good thing there is a FedEx store within a few blocks. read more

judgmental owner that is ableist and stereotypes his workers. All about himself and the money and his job. Was hired and was excited to start my first day met a bunch of new people there who were some of the most friendly people at work I've met for the first day was excited to work shook their hands and then the owner comes in. Not even 15 minutes into my shift he fires me for being nervous takes me out back hands me a 20$ and tells me to go to bruggers bagels so he doesn't have to pay me for my time. I was there to work and I was ready to try and he didn't even give me a chance and tells me I have previous workers like you in the past and because of that I'm not going to even let you try. Told me I interviewed well but I wasn't like how I was in the interview, of course it's my first day of work im 19 and I haven't been in the job force that long and have anxiety that Ive been diagnosed with. Owner doesn't want to take the extra time to train longer because he has a standard that is unbelievable high if I can't even try. A review was posted 7 years ago about how bad he was and seems like nothing has changed if you want to apply for the job the money isn't even worth it for working for a boss like that who will judge everything about you even if you don't think it. read more

We relocated to MN from out of state. Ben was super responsive in remotely helping us set up a mailbox. He holds our packages for weeks at a time at no charge if we twhich is super amazing bc in CA we were fined for packages held beyond 5 days. If an employee here asks for ID before providing you with your packages its because this store wants to make sure your packages arent stolen. People need to stop whining and be grateful. Also, perhaps the person complaining about paying for packaging should simply make sure their package is taped up and ready for shipment instead of coming in and expecting the store to provide a service for free. I came in to return merchandise to an online store. I needed it to be packaged and shipped. When I was quoted the shipping price I was stunned - $67 ($47 for shipping and $20 for the UPS store to package it). I asked if there was a slower, less expensive shipping option and the clerk said no. I said that I would package it and the clerk said he couldn't guarantee it would get there safely if it was customer packed. I took my merchandise and went to the US Post Office and shipped it in a "Priority Mail 2-Day™ Medium Flat Rate Box" for $13.95 (box included!!). It go there in three days just fine. 1) I will go to the USPS before I go to a UPS Store. 2) If I have to use UPS, I will not go to this UPS Store. read more

I had a water-stained herbal book that I needed to replace through Amazon and looked up the nearest UPS Store. My favorite part of this experience, and no reflection on The UPS Store, is that when I plugged the address into Google Maps, it took me a 1/2 mile down the road when it was literally right across the street...the store front doesn't face my apartment building in case any of you are starting to judge AND I just moved here (10 minutes of my life I can't get back, but my own problem since I was not born with a functioning navigation lobe in my brain ;-) Anyway, the service I experienced was RADICALLY FAST. I brought in the scanning label with my package & he scanned, printed label, & said I was ready to go. I was expecting at least 20-30 more steps involved. This would have been a 5-star experience, but the man who was working his shift that day was either not in a mood to work &/or just not cued into the basic customer service rules that most of us abide by: No hellos, no thank yous, no good-byes. If you ask a question like "do i need to do anything else for this package", the simple response is "I don't know, if you have done everything you need, then it will get to its destination" ... The owner, Milind, is very greedy! First time I ever heard that he tried to charge $1.00 for taping services. Many locations I went doesn't charge a cent! I paid the $1 and took picture of him because he refuse to give me the note we had conversation on. That way I can file complaint because of charging and his attitude wasn't great! He refused to process the shipment and gave me refund. I left and warned lady when I saw her coming in with open box. She didn't get charged! Greedy man, Milind! I recommend you to go to next UPS Store as I did and the taping was free and friendly service! Don't go to greedy owner! LOL. Yes I did rent a box at this location and yes the owner was very rude and belligerent after rental payment was made. I think that shows in his "reply." Good thing there are locations in Plymouth and Golden Valley that seem to want business without showing contempt for their customers. By the way, yes I did cancel after only a few months. I said you lost ALL my future business. If you don't want to call Business customers then do not put it as an option on your rental form which is a sales tool for business people. Came in to pick up a package that was addressed to my husband and I however I was informed by the owner he couldn't give it to me since he had no way to know I was Mrs. then he told me he could get sued for giving it to me. My husband had to make a separate trip to pick it up. Ironically he could get it without me there ( the package was addressed to Mr and Mrs and our daughter) he was so rude we now will drive the extra distance to pick out packages up elsewhere. read more

This UPS Store is by far the worst of any UPS Store in the area. The Owner/Operator frequently works the front counter and friendly customer service is not his thing. He would be best served to hire someone else and his stores sales and reputation would likely increase. I frequently drop off prepaid shipments to UPS Stores. In general they really don't like this because they probably don't get any payment and just have to do this service to be part of the UPS Store franchise system. So today when I brought in 5 boxes. After I brought in the 5th box I asked for a drop off receipt. He got all pissed off and said why did I not ask for this when I first came in. Perhaps I would have thought of this if he would have asked since this is his business. So he had to scan all the boxes which took about a minute of his life to generate the drop off receipt. I called him a "Jerk" which he apparently took offense to and then commenced to say I was racist since he has brown skin. Seriously look at the other reviews here and they are all mostly bad. We have other UPS Stores in the area that I will drive the extra few miles to go to in the future. And if you need packing and shipping the FedEx Office store nearby has always provided friendly customer service. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I went to this store to return an item. I had it in the original packaging, with the original shipping label (addressed to me) on it. I told the clerk that it needed to be returned to "this address" and pointed to the return address on the label. I was stunned to receive the package back to me just two days later - he had shipped it back to me again. He even confirmed my address when I was in the store and never asked if I was indeed shipping the package to myself! When my husband brought it back to be shipped to the correct address, he was treated rudely, told that I had confirmed the address (I thought I was confirming my address for the credit card) and that they "don't question where people want to send things." Seriously?!? I want to spend $13 to ship a package to myself a mile from the store I'm standing in?!?!? Not only were they rude, they didn't offer any kind of reparation, or even an apology to my husband. There are LOTS of other options for shipping - don't waste your time and money here. read more

When I moved to the area 5 years ago I went to this UPS store to ship a package and the extremely rude owner of this store charged me to use one piece of tape. I was in a hurry and I accepted this attitude and paid even though I thought he was out of line. Granted, I understand that over time it the cost of tape adds up but when you own a business like this, letting clients use tape should just be a small cost of doing business. After that experience I never went back up until a few days ago to mail a package back to Amazon (and yes I had it taped). Not only was the owner beyond rude from the moment I walked in, he also was not helpful. He got mad at me when I couldn't find a QR code so that he could print up my label (this is a common service for amazon returns). I told him my feelings about doing business with him and he yelled very loudly at me for me to get out of his store and to never come back. He also yelled at me this is all because the color of his skin. This in itself is beyond disgusting to accuse someone of this! I am so offended that he would speak like this and I was thankful that there was another employee in the store because he was scary. I got in my car and drove to the best UPS store which is located in Wayzata- totally out of the way but worth the great customer service. read more

I lived around this area and have been to this store 4-5 times to send packages, first and foremost thing that I hate about this place is that the owner is always (I mean always) rude and disrespectful to his employees. 1. Every time I go there, I see him pin pointing mistakes and talking rudely to the employees in front of the customers. It's almost as if he wants them to do everything his way, anyways but even then he shouldn't be doing it in front of the customers. 2. Everytime I go there, I come out with the feeling that I got ripped off. UPS has different options, but he always puts it in a way that works out good for him and not for us. Always pushes and insists to get the higher rated shipping options, than giving us all the options and making us decide. If you ever go to this store, make sure that you read about all the UPS options before talking to the owner or else he will rip you off. Or even better would be to stay off this place and go to some other UPS location. I WILL MAKE SURE THAT NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL NEVER EVER VISIT THIS STORE AGAIN. read more

I am not from Minnesota, and I needed to ship a HUGE amount of collateral back to Chicago. I was frustrated, worried about putting more money on my business card, and just hot and tired. I came in with a bad attitude, and I showed it. The owner, who I was not so nice to when he didn't answer a question in the way that would have been easiest for me, quickly called me on my behavior in a calm, but firm way. I immediately apologized - well, almost immediately - and he truly showed what great customer service is. He forgot about my previous bad attitude, and he quickly and quietly found the cheapest way for me to get all my crap back to my office in Chicago. I truly appreciate that. I strongly agree with the other people who have given this owner/location only 1-star reviews. I went to this location several times over the last 10 years, since we lived near this location. Each time I went, I walked out without using their services because the owner was so horrible and I was being overcharged. The owner quoted me double compared to what Fedex was able to ship for the exact same package and arrival date. The owner always says I need to purchase additional envelopes etc. bringing cost even higher. The owner's attitude is downright mean and rude and he overcharges for everything!!! I will NEVER go back to this location, and shame on UPS for allowing him to continue to ruin the UPS's name and reputation. read more

The owner is rude and like to point out any faults that he can find and argues with everyone until they admit fault. I would never recommend this store to anyone, and most of the friends I know from work that have gone here have had horrible service. Don't believe me? Go in here with a package untapped or unpacked and ask why there is a $1.50 charge to tape it, and he will scream at you to no end how UPS (yes the company) is at fault or something... Was in the area and had to mail a box via UPS I thought I could return to store in mall. Went in and asked if they could tape up box for me, he said I needed to pay one dollar for the piece of tape. Ok, fine, did that, asked for a receipt so I could have UPS tracking info. Owner was the person who helped me, was VERY rude. When I left he THREW my box on the floor and sarcastically told me to have a nice day. Luckily there wasn't anything fragile in the box. I am shocked at his behavior over me asking for a receipt. I've been going to the UPS store in Minnetonka for over 8 years for shipping, mailing and copy needs. The owner is always friendly, professional and helpful, and so is his staff. He and staff have been helpful in recommending better or cheaper ways for shipping items or suggestions if I'm doing the packing. There are other businesses offering similar services but I trust the Minnetonka UPS store because they've been so helpful in the past. If you need shipping, a mail box or photocopies, the Minnetonka UPS store is a great place. Friendly, professional, honest service... and I wouldn't still be going there for over 8 years if it wasn't, or if the owner wasn't a terrific guy to do business with. I have had many shipping needs - big and small - and they are consistently dealt with promptly and with great care. In particular, the owner is always personable, professional and incredibly kind. I trust this UPS store with all my shipping needs. I had a mailbox at this location some years ago and moved some distance from the store. So i had to cancel the box. After reading the negative comments about the owner I have to jump in. The owner and this store gave me top class service for mailbox use. I was always called when I received packages. I made sure that I followed rules and picked up packages on time. They never lost my package. Mail was sorted on time and I could even call to find out if I had mail in my box. The individual who had problems with the stores mailbox service must be expecting something unreasonable. John M. must have never run a business and so does not know that a business has to be run efficiently for it to survive and be profitable. Some mistakes by employees have to be corrected on the spot. How would John M feel if the mistake was not corrected. Maybe the employees keep making mistakes and are not learning. The owner knows the operations of the business better than his employees and so runs it the way it should be run. The employees dont care about how the business should be run. I am sure there are some mistakes that can be corrected after the fact and I am sure he does that. I know how UPS manages these stores. They would not allow the owner to cheat a customer. There are several shipping options. When I ship I always go for the UPS Ground option unless I need something delivered overnite. Does he hold a gun to your head and force u to ship the most expensive way? He runs a business to make money. As long as he does not use unethical means he has a right to upsell his products and services. You as a customer can decide what you can afford. I cant believe that he does not offer several shipping options when you ask for them. It appears you have a bias against the owner and are not willing to give him the benefit of doubt. I have been dealing with this store for several years. The owner may not a sweet talker but runs a very very efficient operation with very few mistakes. My packages have never been shipped to the wrong address. I have never had to file a claim. I even get notified by email when I ship a package. If you want a sweet talker who is careless and makes mistakes this is not the store for you. If all u care about is efficiency this is the right place. Some customers talk to him with an attitude just because they are customers. He is a human being also and needs to be treated like one. Finally i am glad someone like Bob T. came out with his opinion about the store and the owner. My gosh where can I began? Well years ago my friends and family sent packages via this store with bad results. First off they were during the holidays and the person who helped me sold me on a guaranteed service, which did NOT get there in time for the holidays and, get this folks, UPS the company would not honor a thing on it (It was slightly damaged but we did not file due to many other issues, but), thus the store would not honor a thing. What gives? Is that customer service? Okay then we started dropping off packages with our own account that UPS 'helped' us get started... so my son goes into the store with the package and needs a receipt which one of the workers or not sure who was really, and they said, we would have to wait a hour for the driver to come in order for a receipt due to busy season (there was about TEN packages waiting) and I had to come into the store and talk with the owner which started, no it did not end, BUT STARTED with a shooting match. In the end he said, get this folks; "UPS does not pay me a dime for sending or taking your packages here, I dont make a cent off your package," Really? Your UPS Franchises and you talk that bad about your own company?? REALLY? It got better when he raised it farther with "You can pay me to ship it for you." WHAT!? PAY TWICE? Wow. Apparently if you bring your packages here they will be tossed around, forgotten, (I am not joking look at the other reviews people!) by someone who does not care about his UPS Business and talks bad about the parent company... I am done with this location and if other UPS Stores are this way I wont give them, 'A dime of my business,' yes that right! read more
