Tried to drop off packages that my husband spent a lot of time working on today and they wouldn't take them because we got there right at 5 pm. The girl was extremely rude about it, too. She wouldn't take our packages and refused our business. She just snapped "No! Five o'clock! We're closed!" and threw up her hands. She didn't say she couldn't because of store policy or apologize. She wouldn't talk about it at all and tried to slam the door in our face. She didn't care at all that we needed to drop off our packages, had driven all the way there, and didn't need to print out shipping labels. She didn't even offer an apology or an alternative time to drop it off. She shouldn't be working in customer service if she's going to not care about customers. I've had better experiences at this store before. But she represents the quality of service that's being provided now. This is a small and very efficient UPS location with a pleasant and knowledgable staff that handles all my Amazon and other returns in a very professional manner. i have been using this UPS store forever, both this location and their previous location in Oak Park, I've never had to wait more than a minute, the knowledgable and efficient staff is super polite and I've never run into anyone with an attitude which is so common at the Oak Park Post Office, especially the South town branch. read more

This is a very cramp small store please note that before going in. Plus, you might have to wait on top of someone as well. Otherwise this location has great customer service skills compared to other locations, i have been in this location twice, although very crowded and cramp, the pleasant attitude of the reps so far make this a better location to do business with. read more

They have their act together a whole lot more than the Fed ex store on Harlem. I have been here twice, and was taken care of quickly, and with courtesy. My only issue with this store is parking or the lack there of. There is a big parkade near there, and it is free for the first hour, but street parking by here is scarce. I just shipped three packages using the UPS Store in Oak Park. They were able to help me out since I didn't feel like packaging (nor did I know how) a very large card holder box. I came in five minutes to there closing time and was happy that they didn't turn me away. The only downside was the price. I thought it was a little on the expensive side. A large box to package and ship cost almost $20! I'm just happy I didn't have to box it. I've learned my lesson for next time. read more

I brought in some heavy and fragile packages today and noted that they were fragile. Upon scanning the boxes the cashier proceeded to heave them off the counter and very literally throw them onto the floor from the scale on the countertop. It was extremely rude and totally unnecessary. She also had a pretty unfriendly and disrespectful attitude throughout the process. It is true that the boxes were heavy and it is equally true that the service can only be so gentle but the attitude and violent throw to the floor was totally unnecessary. This location is the worst UPS store I have ever dealt with. I use UPS all the time, but will never, ever use this location. They are completely incompetent and stole my package. I sent a package with tracking and received confirmation that it had been delivered. Months later I found out the package actually had never been delivered. When I called to report it, the manager was completely unhelpful. They refused to try to track the package or work with UPS to reimburse me for the lost item. The manager refused to even make a claim through UPS to try to have the money reimbursed. I will never use this location again. I had a similar thing happen years ago with a UPS store downtown and their location was incredibly helpful. Did a full investigation to try to find the package and ultimately reimbursed me for the items. This manager REFUSED to do ANYTHING. Its totally outrageous. read more

UPS has been my go to for shipping for years now. Their delivery isn't quite the best...lost/damaged packages...inefficient tracking...but at least they know to train their employees well. Employees I met both at the local drop-off to their hub locations have been very cordial and willing to help. Until I came to this location. The employee who waited on me was very rude and spoke in a very unprofessional way. I'm not sure if it was a one time occurrence, since it was my first time going to this location, but seeing other reviews makes me think they need to get in touch with basic customer service training. I went to this store to have some information about the cost of a shipment to Italy. There was just one employee that was talking with a lady while she was waiting for someone else to finish to assemble her package. The employee shout ( shout is the correct term) asking for help and another employee came, not too happy to assist me. I asked him how much would cost to send a 20 kilos package to Italy. He said ' how many pounds is that?' Seriously??? You work for ups and you don't have in your software something that convert kilos to pounds. I said I didn't know and we could easily check on internet. He stayed there staring at me WAITING FOR ME TO DO THE CONVERSATION WITH MY PHONE!!!!!!!!! Seriously?????????????? Maybe he should appreciate more to have a job and ups management should have trained him better... and, why not? His mother should have raised him better! read more

All the staff at this location are so nice and helpful. I come here frequently to mail boxes for work and they are always smiling, friendly and willing to help you with anything you need. This location is as customer oriented as you can get. Had them deliver 30-ish client gifts for holiday season, and CJ, went beyond any level of service I would have expected. She communicated well via email, was prompt, and took care of creating all my tables and affixing them to all the boxes. All this during COVID, and just days before Christmas. While the store was besieged with other customers all asking for help, CJ calmly took care of everyone and kept her composure. She even called hours after the store had closed to measure me that all my boxes had gone out as planned. Simply outstanding! read more

I came in to print a prototype for a game I am designing and after helping me to fix the InDesign file...twice, I came in again and had a ghosted image on the prints. WOW!!! What exemplary service at this Oak Park UPS Store! Myself, like many others, are doing whatever it takes to survive during this pandemic. To be brief, I had several packages to mail to clients. I was unable to hand deliver as I would have preferred due to the pandemic. I came prepared with my boxed items and addresses bracing myself for a big "sigh" from the worker at the counter. (I hadn't previously mailed to these addresses before, so I knew it would take some time to enter them into the system). Much to my surprise I was greeted by Donald who was WONDERFUL and very helpful and patient with me. **Of note, there was a long, never ending line today, the team was no doubt drained**. One by one he helped me get each package entered and shipped. The store owner, CJ, came by to offer some relief and took half of the addresses and created the labels in the back to expedite the process. Getting these packages delivered was very important to me and my business. I never once felt like I was a burden even though I came in with a pretty tall task. CJ was very attentive to other customers as well; she keeps her store running very smoothly. Please try to practice patience around this time of year, especially during this pandemic. In most cases, people are dealing with a lot and are doing the best they can to survive. Kindness and patience can go so far and can truly be contagious. We need more kindness right now. We have used this store for years and always had excellent service. They recently moved from a smaller storefront to the new location on Lake St. with much more space, which makes putting packages together much more pleasant. I was worried about parking at the new location, but so far, have had no issues getting a spot out front. Friendly employees and owners. Kudos for making a not so fun chore (mailing packages) as pleasant as it can be. read more

The notary was as nice as could be, and at $1/signature I thought it was a steal! Make sure to make an appointment; you can't just walk in and expect the notary to be there or to be available. It's easy to do online. Plus, because of COVID, there is no guaranteed delivery by either UPS or FedEX, but you can get courier service via Uber (called Uber Package). It's not cheap, but I got my documents from Oak Park to the North Shore in one hour for $75. All around good stuff read more

I have been going there for 3 years and during all that time at one time or another everyone has gone out of their way to help me with whatever problem I may have. Store and services are fine, if a little slow and over priced. The only issue with the store is the staff. Unfriendly and ill mannered. I use them as little as humanly possible. Such a shame as the location is great for me. I frequently ship items through USPS but when I need larger items sent I go to either UPS or Fedex. I recently sent a large package which I carefully packed myself, as all the "easy" UPS promos suggest. I brought the item ready to ship and my experience with the older female staff person was not pleasant. I did not feel good about the interaction or the way I was treated after answering her questions about how I packaged the item. When I was completing the payment she was talking to the driver dropping off items no "thank you, have a nice day", dismissed. I sent an antique rocking horse which I am not going to bring down to the store for excessive handling by anyone. But how else does one get a quote for UPS to package so it is covered for damage? I ended up sending the item but it was not a feel good experience. I was not asked about EASY promo code that was everywhere on the website. I'm writing this mostly so I'll remember not to go here again in the future. read more

Went in to have a document notarized and the woman claimed that she could only notarize certain documents. We had called in advance to make sure we could obtain the service and were apparently misinformed. The clerk seemed to have a poor attitude and it is not clear that she was even providing accurate information. The Chase Bank across the street was much more helpful. read more

This store is small and the people are ok, but getting there is not easy. It is in a bad spot and parking can be horrendous. The lot across the street had a rude man watching over it...absolutely no parking or just running in for a second to drop off. I wanted to pick up, and the lady said she needed my ID. Had to run to the car (far away) to do that. Get back and she said the date was premature, I couldn't get it until tomorrow. After dealing with the rude man across the street and trying to find parking and going in and finding out I could not pick it up (after the UPS man did not ring our bell) we were home. I have visited this store once or twice when I'm near the area and visiting family, it has been for small things like dropping off my daughters amazon textbook rentals, or returning cable equipment. I understand parking in Oak Park is less than efficient but I usually don't have time to check into the parking garage and walk over to walk back, or to circle the block several times and hope someone leaves outside on Lake St. and hopefully have quarters on me. Plenty of businesses in the area have decent short term parking for customers. Customer service was poor, employees are unhelpful and have a very "if-you-don't-like-it-go-somewhere-else" attitude. Also a 3 dollar minimum for one page of printing? That's a little ridiculous. If you do have time to spare try the library across the street, they have parking there for patrons also. read more

Stopped in this morning to drop off 2 small boxes. I've been to this location before and I know their service is slow, but my boxes have prepaid labels so I thought it was fine. Christi greeted me and let me know that I needed to wait for the two customers in front of me before getting a receipt. I said that was fine even though at the North Avenue location, they are able to multitask. I think it put her off that I decided to wait, because I swear she started to move slower. 30 minutes later, and after she had to call her manager to fix a problem with the guest in front of me, she scanned my two boxes and gave me a receipt. Fantastic packing services. We walked in on a busy, hot afternoon, on our way to O'Hare, needing to have a fragile antique table & other items packed securely, quickly AND within airline dimensions. They told us it would be ready within the hour & exactly the right size, and it was. I just unpacked the carton: the packing was so meticulous and perfect I wish I had video-ed it. Worst UPS store out there, like other reviews demonstrate. This franchise has a $3 print charge for printing out 1 label!! The one in BUCKTOWN, which by the way is amazing (they even have a candy bowl!), has a computer stand solely for free label-printing. After being condescended to regarding the print policy, the manager came out and reinforced poor customer service. I've been to lots of UPS stores, and they are usually laid back and customer-focused, but the problem here seems to be management driven as evidenced by my experience today. Very poor experience today. I need to ship a small children's chair to California. A personal family item, to be sent to my niece. I stopped by UPS a few weeks ago with the chair, and the young UPS associate weighed the chair, and started calculating packing (fragile/specialty item) and shipping charges. The manager came over to help her work through it. It worked out to be about $200 for everything. Shockingly high to me, I must admit. So I told them I would shop around and come back. Checked in with some moving companies that take single items/small shipments cross country, but couldn't find a price for less then $300 and it might take 1-2 months. So I went back to UPS today to ship. The same young woman and manager were there. Now they tell me it will be more then $300?!?!? The young woman actually looked a little nervous before she told me the number.... as she clearly remembered this was no where near the previous quote. Manager just stared blankly. Couldn't care less. No explanation. No offer to honor their prior price, now that I had returned to ship it based on that. In fact, they acted like.... "Well, what did we tell you.... do you have it written down?" Actually, I do and I will bring it back. But the manager made it clear he is not interested in honoring their quote. He actually refused to give me his name so I could write a letter of complaint (although his co-worker quietly gave it to me when I walked away...). Just a very odd, poorly managed situation with very poor customer service. read more

Friendly, quick and efficient service has been my experience at the UPS store in Oak Park. I work at the Y in Oak Park and recently was working on a project when our laminator broke. I took my prints to Christy at UPS and she took care of it ASAP and for a very good price. I'd definitely recommend and will use them in the future! read more

So.. I just had a quick question to ask about the store, and called... I did not realize it was after business hours, I called at 5:15 and they close at 5. Someone answered the phone though with, and kind of shouting, "CLOSSSSED", then just hung up. I contacted them in regards to picking up an expensive fragile item, packaging the item & then shipping the item internationally to me. Their replies were fast, communication was great & were very helpful in ensuring i understood the procedure. They gave two quotes/shipping options to choose from, i choose which quote, i made the payment, item was picked up in quick time, they communicated with me in regards to if i had any special packaging request which i did, the item was packaged extremely well, the box was perfectly made up for the right size of the item, extremely well bubbled wrapped for a fragile/tricky item to wrap, fragile stickers tapped around the package & shipped out in quick time, i then received email confirmation with a tracking #. Item arrived undamaged around 6 days later, all my special packaging requests i asked to be done had been done. Very happy with their customer service & caring when it came to packaging the item. First time having an item picked up, packaged & shipped & they made it a breeze, communicated with me the whole time, even after i had confirmed the item had arrived they replied with a nice thank you email. Communication is key & they couldn't have done a better job. Will definitely use this ups store again! read more
