I utilize this particular Staples because of its location and I have a business account through my school. I utilize Staples for many things in my school: copier paper, office supplies, and printing services. I like the Staples print capabilities and their one day turn around time for posters (in particular). Each time I go the Norridge Staples to pick up an order, there is either no employees available or there is general confusion about how to access an order that has been printed. My most recent experience was last week and I was so infuriated by the sheer ignorance of the staff that I felt compelled to write a review. There were three employees (that I could see) - two men and one woman. I asked the woman if she could call someone to the print are - she radioed for someone. Meanwhile the two men and this woman engaged in a conversation, swearing and laughing it up. The two men literally ran to the back of the store and began horsing around with each other. I stood there for over 10 minutes waiting and asked the woman to get her manager or supervisor, to which she replied 'I don't have a manager.' I told her that I was sending en email to the customer email on their website to report how terrible to service is in this store and that I'd be replacing Staples in my school with a new vendor. One of the two men finally appeared and admitted to being a manager, got my order and said he doesn't have anyone to work the print area. Then why would Staples take orders if they don't have anyone to manage the print area? And by the way, the order was already printed and paid for - I just need it to be brought across the counter. Terrible customer service! I'm not sure how this store continue to be open. Take your business elsewhere. You'd be better off waiting for Amazon to deliver what you need than stepping foot in this Staples. read more

Easy Button? Not at this store-- long wait, unprepared, and we paid twice. We ordered online for in-store pickup (order #9932150001 at 12:19pm), which is advertised as being ready in 30 minutes. We paid for the online order and 4 hours later, our pickup isn't ready. The clerk told us it wasn't ready because it is back to school season. Back to school season is annual and predictable, hire more people, pay them better, and don't offer 30 minute pickups if you can't fulfill the service clients pay for in advance. We wasted our own time picking out the products, and the specific products we wanted were not on the shelves. Total dumpster fire of a corporation. My mother called this location to ask if they laminate insurance cards. She is elderly and didn't know how or where to get it done. On the phone, they told her they did and to come on in. She drove over there, and was told by a young man with dark hair, very rudely that they couldn't do it now. She asked when they could do it, because she had called and was told that it was a service they provided, and instead of telling her anything helpful, he just said I don't know and walked away. Very rude, very unprofessional. Apparently there was no one else by the counter when she was over there. I told her she should have asked for a manager, as that kind of customer service is unacceptable. Unfortunately, she didn't... This location has completely hit bottom. This has always been my go to store for everything, and until the last year have always employed knowledgeable and friendly staff. I've had three bad experiences in the last 30 days at this store. My visit this week was almost surreal. Totally understaffed, but the printing/ specialty area is over staffed but they say they can't help you. There was literally one staff member for the entire store and a cashier who spent a lot of time not at the register. Literally 5 people in the entire store and 4 were waiting at an empty cashier line. The Party City counter....vacant, and when I requested help for placing an order you would have thought I asked for his left kidney. So unfriendly, agitated, and unknowledgeable on ordering or products. So disappointing that I'll now be driving out of town to competitors as this place is nothing but a joke. I can't believe higher ups don't visit this store and realize you'd be doing humanity a service by locking the doors Or staffing the store properly with associates that want to be there. I have utilized this Staples for a long time, giving them many years of business. I order ink online for my printer and go to this location to pick up the cartridges. Since they come from the warehouse, they are in a large box and usually the clerk will honor my request by taking the cartridges out of the box and keeping the box. They need the box more than I do. Today I went to pick up two cartridges. The extremely rude clerk grilled me as to when I ordered the ink, even though I put the email from Staples on the counter. He found the box containing the cartridges, then he scanned the email. When I asked him if he could take the cartridges out of the box and keep the box, I received a NO! I told him I usually had Staples keep the box and asked again if he would be willing to keep the box, again, a rude NO! This person acted as though I was putting him out and did not want to wait on me. I told him he was rude, left the store with the box, took it to my car, opened the box, took out the cartridges, removed all labels from the box and then took the empty, opened box and placed it right outside the door of the store. I am going to utilize a different Staples location from now on. I have never dealt with such rude service at this store before. This person needs to be sent on his way. read more

I was told when I called that I did not need an appointment, drove out of my way to get here, all just to be told by the manager today that they weren't taking walk-ins because they were busy. This really an online problem. I will never order on line again from Staples unless they fix there delivery problem. The delivery company can not leave a package unless they get a signature as per Staples policy. Amazon. UPS, USPS all leave packages but staple requires me waiting on the front porch for my signature. The time to track down the package. Waiting for the customer service for the delivery company and then for the customer service for staples. I could have gone to the store. I will just order from Amazon I don't want to talk to a delivery person or wait.on my porch yo sign anything and I can't get anyone at Staples to realize how stupid the policy is. I have to print a lot of stuff for my classes and the Printing Dept here is phenomenal especially a young lady, not sure her name but with red hair. Also, whenever I have to deliver items, this is one of the few places that does not charge for minuscule things (like adding tape to an envelope). Sometimes they do get backed up so there will be a wait but its because they do get pretty busy. I really appreciate the good customer service from the staff at the printing dept. read more

I just ordered my Xmas gifts on line and picked them up at this location. They were customized photo calendars. One was ready within 24 hours and they called me to let me know it was ready. The others (eight of 'em), I ordered late Saturday night, and feared I would have to wait until Monday to pick them up. I called them before closing time and spoke to someone in the Copy & Print department. She assured me it would likely not be a problem to pick up everything on Sunday, if I could get my order in before closing time (8pm). Well, let me tell you. Making a photo calendar can be harder then you think if you want it "just right." I spent several hours picking out photos for some managers at my job. I didn't finish until maybe around 9:30pm. Greaaaaat, I thought. Now I'm gonna have to go to Norridge on Monday. I arrived about an hour after opening time on Sunday and *all* of the calendars were ready! That is some pretty awesome service, and I'm grateful to the staff there! This was convenient for my errands today, but is typically out of my way on most other nights, especially after work. The calendars were a steal at $10 and they can be picked up within 24 hours. -That said, if you have special deadlines, call them and see what they can do. I'm sure it depends on how busy they are, but they were able to accommodate my entire order well within a 12 hour window! I was looking for a type of noisemaker. Going over options on the internet, the item I was looking for was available in a set of four for about 20 bucks. But this Staples advertised individual pieces for about five dollars apiece. So I called to verify and to be sure they had what I was looking for in stock. The woman who answered the phone looked for me, then put samples of each item at the customer service desk so I could go straight there and look them over. I am definitely grateful to this store for making it easy for me to buy everything I needed because they literally have anything I could ask for when it comes to supplies, materials, and even office furniture. Staples on Barrington Road in Streamwood was our "go to" place for my dad's home/office supplies until they relocated to Rolling Meadows. It's true what "they" say about not appreciating something until it's gone. Rolling Meadows is out of the way and the Staples located here isn't as convenient for me to get to as the Office Max on Harlem is. Besides, the times I've been here after shopping at Petco has been uneventful. The prices at Office Max seem to be better and they have a lot more of the same things to look at, compare and buy... read more

I love this store. I am a Landscape Designer and I frequently need oversized copies and enlargements made. Unfortunately this is not a DIY service and requires the help of the someone working behind the counter in the copy department. The people working there and in particular Diana and Leslie, have been super helpful to me. I rarely have to wait for service and they are just about the most cheerful store clerks I've come across in a long time. I'm usually in and out in 15 minutes with my copies in hand. My only complaint is that there are not more Staples stores located in Chicago. I have to drive about 4 miles to get here. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this store and especially with the copy department. read more

Can someone please explain to me why this store closes at 7pm? Doesn't make sense when every other store around it closes at 9pm. If they were in a business zone (ie, downtown, an industrial park, etc), I would understand the early hours. However, they are in a residential neighborhood. I'm barely getting home from work around 7pm. I looked up other Staples stores in the city and they close at 9pm. So, what's the deal? Again... doesn't make sense. The only other issue I have with this store is that it's difficult to find an employee when you need help with something. It seems they keep the store crew at bare minimum. the hiring of two young women with no people skills and/or the inability to maintain calm in this stressful period makes for the loss of a $$$ customer. the asst. manager is very accommodating however. unless employees are held to a higher standard and are either trained better in people skills and they fail to improve...the exit doors should be opened wide for these two "girls". a clear explanation should always be given to customers as to why "something" cannot be done at that time. these two kept saying come back tomorrow without the concrete knowledge that the difficulties would be resolved. other times, my messenger waited two hours for service. i am having to reconsider the use of staples. read more

I received absolutely horrible customer service at the Staples store at 7000 Forest Preserve Drive in Norridge Illinois. I went into the store to pick up an order. While I was there, I went over to the copy center to get an estimate on mounting a one-page document on foam core board. I had to wait 15 minutes for anyone to even talk to me. When the young man behind the counter, Eric, finally did talk to me, he was very impatient, clueless, and almost angry. When my adult daughter explain that I am hard of hearing & couldn't hear him, he proceeded to roll his eyes in front of both of us, & continued to mumble. He did manage to give me an estimate on the mounting, & when I told him I wanted to print out the document, he stared at me for 5 to 10 seconds before pointing me to the work station where I would have to pay by the minute in order to print out my document. I finally walked out in absolute disgust. I will not go back. FedEx/Kinkos will now have my business. read more

This store could be so much more. This is still my go to office supply store and they usually have great weekly deals. Unfortunately, manager Bill is there a lot and is usually crabby. Today he made me feel like a criminal for attempting to use a coupon. Apparently I had a coupon from another state and coupons do vary from state to state. This must be unknown to Bill because he said in an accusatory tone, "I don't know where you got that from." How about Staples.com? That seems like a legit site.
