I pay for the ups my choice premium for the purpose of having my packages routed to this location. I got an email from ups around 11am on a Friday that my package is delivered and ready for pick up. I drop by at 3pm and waited in line for around 20 minutes, which was also a really long wait. Once I got to the front of the line to pick up my package, the owner told me to be patient and wasn't willing to look for my package because he didn't have time to look for it for me. He brushed me off and told me to come back the next day and started to help the next person in line. What's the point of paying for a premium service when the ups store won't even provide the service you pay for? I don't recommend people pay for the my choice premium if they are looking for reliable place to get your packages on time. read more

Lost my package. First time coming to this location, no one's helping recover and bad customer service representatives. Associates at location dismissive and unhelpful. Dropped my package off here and it never left the facility yet they don't know where it is. Possible someone who works there stole it or the people they handed off to. Sketchy. I specifically chose this location to drop off some packages because of a lovely review on NextDoor saying that Ricky is "one of the nicest, most caring, and positive people" the poster has met. Before I even walked in, it was clear that Ricky was there. He greeted me outside the door, walked me in, and helped me right away. He was wildly positive, fun, and funny. Not sure, why the negative reviews. I've been doing returns and occasional sends for more than 7 years. In that time, I've seen them help people who had no idea how to package their items. Last guy had use painter's tape - which they retaped free. Yeah their printer charges are high, but for all the things they do free, I can live with that. Rick was awesome when he helped me the other day. I had a lot of Amazon returns and Amazon had cancelled all my QR codes - even though my return expiration dates were 2 weeks out! WTF? I had to call Amazon twice from the store to straighten it out and Rick was so patient and empathetic that I had to go through this Amazon nightmare. He also made sure I had my own space/area to deal with all the return items that I brought into the store. FYI ya'll, Amazon gives you 30 days to return items but if you initiate a return and don't drop it off within 7 days they cancel your QR code -even when you have weeks left on your return window. Huh? This leaves you scrambling at the UPS store calling the Amazon reps to help you get the QR codes reinstated. Thanks Rick for helping me get it all done with humor, grace, and the best customer service ever. read more

Had my package sent to the UPS access point. Went to go pick it up since it was marked as delivered but they said they didn't have it even though it was marked as delivered. Additionally, I have tried calling and leaving voicemails and no one ever picks up or gets back to me! What a waste of time!! Will never use this access point again!! read more

This place is bad vibes all around. Go to the one nearby on Franklin Street and Sutter instead if you can! Here they make you pay for computer time to access emailed return labels, then charge more to print the labels! Every other UPS in the Bay Area lets you email the labels directly to the store and just pay for the print (or even not pay to print sometimes)! Tonight was the last straw for me at this Polk location. My phone ran out of battery so I couldn't verify my email login and I ended up paying $7 for computer time, but never got my labels printed! So I'm $7 out and the guy gave me a dad lecture because it's all my fault. Real nice. I'd rather stand in line at USPS for an hour than ever come back to this fool and his mean spiritedness. Thankfully, I charged my phone in my car and went to Franklin Street since they're open until 7:30 pm. I immediately got help, paid only for the printed labels, got a free shipping box destined for landfill, left the guy a $10 tip, and walked out with a smile on my face! It's sad this Polk Street location is run by such a miser. There's money to be made with kindness. Despite this manager saying the main issue is that my phone died -- it wouldn't have died if I hadn't spent 10 minutes (and $7) trying to log into my own email on your terminal, sir. read more

This review is for Rick Dude literally yelled at his younger teenage-looking co-worker ) for accepting my two package return for Temu and for me only having one label (it's my first time returning with them and they would not give me another label). His tone to his co-worker was unacceptable. He said "hope to never see you again" (how is that called for?) after accepting the two packages to my back as i was walking out and cancelled my return when I returned and took his picture (below). Said "I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE" as a response to me taking his picture. (how is this legal/ethical again?) Said "I've been working here for 8 years" as validation of his expertise. Yeah, and sending people a "this is MY store " vibe for the last 6. i feel sorry for whoever has to listen to him when they "do things wrong" and I only was exposed to 2 minutes of his orders AS A CUSTOMER. Never understood the bad reviews for this store until today. He literally ran out of the store screaming at me to come back so he could cancel my return for taking his photo (he was shouting so loud 6 heads turned on this side of the street and 6 on the other - like there was a murder) Kinda blindsided by a simple return turning into this level of rage on such a beautiful Saturday. I was having a horrible day yesterday ,trying to mail an envelope priority Mail through the United States Post office . when I say horrible I mean doing this made for an absolutely miserable day and experience. I was upset I had my dog with me ,we both were hungry and tired then I walked into the UPS store knowing these are two totally different things. I just took a chance and came in here and I'm so glad I did .I have never in my life experience such friendly speedy customer service in my life the minute I walked in my pitbull who normally scares people because of her size was instantly greeted with pets on the head ,Chicken treats followed by beef treats, laughs and within 60 seconds of me handing my envelope expecting them to say oh sorry we don't deliver this type of mail or we cannot print out your label for you sorry ma'am we're closing or just flat act like I'm not standing there instead they knew my name said they'd handle everything treated me like family the minute I walked in!! there was a line when I first walked in and within 90 seconds I was up at the counter being treated like I'm in there everyday I will never go to another mailing place I will make this my permanent mailing location from here on out and anybody that listens I will let them know what friendly staff there is the man that help me yesterday I was trying to find his name so I can put it on here but I did not write it down unfortunately but I wanted to give him a special special thank you he made my entire day I left that UPS store smiling and happy and feeling like I was part of a small community even though I live in a very large city thank you so much for reminding me that human beings aren't so bad I can't imagine working in an industry where you deal with hundreds of people sometimes daily and all of them are complaining and still having a smile on your face and caring so much that you stop your busy day to make sure my dog feels welcomed and has a treat in her belly I personally thank you so very much to the man who helped me yesterday the piece of mail was very important to me and I was so stressed trying to get it out in the mail and being treated so horribly by the other places especially the post office down the street and now I know my parcel will get where it's going he did not have to take it but he personally made sure it was mailed I'm sure I saved money it all happened with quick respectful service and just a cloud of happiness in that store thank you so much. This location (Store 0051) is the lowest-rated UPS of all UPS locations in San Francisco for several reasons. (See recent reviews by Sean, Kerr, Caly, Thomas, Ted, Elaine, etc.) Lots of complaints to UPS HQ about this store's more serious issues: - your packages not being sent out on time - packages being "lost" at this store so they can never be picked up - BEWARE. There will be no real solution, no matter what response the owner provides to corporate CS is unusually unpleasant. The owner Hesham will also begrudge you 1 inch of tape (unlike the rest of the franchised stores) if you end up needing to better seal a tiny outgoing package. Ironically, this loses him more money from shippers than he gets from pushing each customer to buy a $6 roll of tape. I just went to a different UPS store on the way home, and they laughed. Their employees had heard about the little Polk Store having problems. Avoid! Would recommend any other location. Reviews specifically recommend 1410 Franklin St as a close-by, better option. I've had my credit card information stolen shortly after using their printing machine while printing a UPS label. I rarely use this credit card. They will fabricate all kinds of crap for you to over pay for things you don't need. I've come here to return amazon packages (amazon claims much of this should be taken care of), but they'll fabricate that you need to pay to print a label, buy some tape for your box or that your box isn't legitimate (you need to buy other wrapping). They are dishonest scammers at this location. Read the other reviews and avoid this place as much as you can. read more

Completely unethical business. First, they corralled us into using their computers to print a simple document we already had on a phone. Apparently impatient with us, an employee walked over, scrolled through the terms on the computer we were at, and clicked "Accept" on our behalf (without asking us). No time, at this point, had any employee suggested that we'd be "renting" the computer or otherwise paying for use. The computer didn't work properly for signing in to Gmail, so we found another way to load the document up and print it. When we went to pay for the printouts, they had charged us twice as much for the computer time as the printing itself, even though they strong-armed us into using one of their computers to print and started the session themselves. They had declined earlier to let us email it to them or print it a different way. If you check out the review history here, you'll see that they find ways to charge for computer time for printing even when it's entirely implausible. One review reports being charged even after emailing the document. Another reports the store saying their USB-based printing is "broken." One employee in the store seemed annoyed when I attempted to see if we could print with USB, aggressively asking, "Can we *help* you?" as I looked at the options on one of the printers in the customer area. They were defensive when I pointed out that computer time isn't a standard cost to print a document that's already on a phone. (The UPS Store at the Fairmont hotel certainly doesn't charge for that.) The person at the register replied that there was a sign (way back on the wall from the computer that they had walked us to and logged us into) that had prices for computer time. We didn't see the sign because an employee ushered us to the computer and initiated our session. Why would we assume that an employee had started a timed, billed service without asking us? It's also hardly an excuse for declining every other routine option for printing. This isn't about the amount of money (which isn't a lot) but their disreputable pricing practices. After I complained to UPS, the owner wrote back defending how they started the paid service without asking us: "It's unfortunate that we tried to help the customer not wait in line for the self-serve PCs (Uniguest) which were both busy. We guided him to use the BS PC and actually helped him to print his documents to speed his service." No, it's unethical to "speed" someone's service that way. read more

Excellent customer service from Daniel on a Saturday morning, when I rushed in with an urgent and delicate return package. A major online retailer had sold me an "unlocked" refurbished phone, which was locked upon receipt. When I attempting to unlock with the carrier, it turned out to be not only locked. Per the carrier's website, denied unlocking claims are for phones "reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud." Yikes! When reported to the retailer, a 3rd party seller merely said to return for a refund. I asked Daniel for the safest way to package the pristine (jacked?) phone and track it and he was really helpful in getting me packing materials. He was also prompt, professional, and friendly. Exactly what I needed after a horrific purchase experience. You do need to pay for packaging materials, other than standard UPS mailers, which I think is fair. Daniel was certain to ask me if I wanted a printed receipt with the tracking number, which is a lovely courtesy, even though I have the UPS app on my phone. The little office is clean and well lit, there's a copier in the corner, which I didn't need to use, and a hand sanitizer dispenser on the wall to the left as you come in the door. Just a heads up though: The Fairmont Hotel used to leave this door open, it happened to be locked today although I knocked and was let in by a custodian. So you may need to enter through the main hotel entrance. read more
