I went to this location to return an amazon package which was in its original packaging with the new return label attached. How i normally return. Anyway i went into the store and the female working there says you need the original amazon packaging which i said it was. She said we will charge you 5.99 for additional packaging. I said i am not paying when i always return this way. She said bye. I went to the ups in morton grove and they said there was nothing wrong with the return packaging. 06/14/24 - My nephew is Seattle called me about 1 week ago. After we caught up a little he asked me if I could do him a favor. My brother is from Chicago. When we were youngins we use to drink Old Style beer (yummy cheap swill from our days of youth. My nephew wanted to give my brother a 6 pack of Old Style for Father's Day sort of a gag gift but couldn't find it in Seattle so he asked old Uncle Phil if I could find some & sent it to Seattle. By time I got around to buying the beer, double wrapping the cans in plastic bags taping them shut, wrapping the cans individually in bubble wrap & putting into a box it was 06/14/24 - 2 days before Father's Day. Here in lies the dilemma. To send the package overnight it would have cost $206 dollars a bit pricy for a $6 dollar 6 pack of beer. By the time I went to UPS to send the package it was Friday. If I would have sent it overnight to get the package to my nephew for Father's Day 2 days later on Sunday 06/16/24 it would have required overnight shipping which was $206 dollars. I felt was ludicrous to pay that much. After discussing this w/my nephew I opted for 4 day ground service which was still $26.75, still crazy but much better than $206 dollars. This UPS store is located off of Oakton in DT Skokie, with limited street parking in the front and around the area. As other UPS locations, they offer various shipping and delivery options available. On my most recent visit, there was only one employee who was working, but he was trying his best to cater to the line that formulating by working at two registers. An employee named Sophia answered the phone rudely with not even this is UPS or indication of where the store is or what store was, gave me an incorrect number intentionally to a warehouse and then when I tried calling back multiple times, she didn't answer the phone. After calling again at least a dozen times she answered the phone and then hung up on me telling me I had to call back in an hour. I just called back asking for the supervisor, and the supervisor gives the same energy as Sophia. They think they don't have to help customers if they don't like them, they hate their jobs are miserable so they want to make everyone else miserable. read more

Around the holidays I dropped off an expensive piece of jewelry to be returned. It needed to be put into a box for shipping. I handed over the item without watching them do the reboxing service and left. It was later when I realized it would be nothing to remove the jewelry item before reboxing and shipping. However, the package arrived and refund was provided within days. Good to know you can still trust people. I don't use them a lot but every time I visit they are pleasant and helpful. read more

If you care about your health stay away from this UPS store. They're over crowding the store, allowing people in without masks and keeping the doors closed, so no ventilation. Saw it with my own eyes and had to leave and take my packages to a different UPS store because it was so disturbing. Totally violating every guideline to keep us safe and to help businesses all over stay open. This business owner clearly only has their own self interest in mind and doesn't care about other fellow business owners and the citizens of the state. 200th Review. I know, the UPS Store? I think this location in particular deserves my 200th review because customer service has always been so friendly. It's actually served with a genuine smile which seems rare in the service industry nowadays. 1) This place is nestled in downtown Skokie which has free 2 hour parking! (Looking at you, downtown Evanston!) There is plenty of street parking that is easily accessible near the store. 2) Employees: the employees I've encountered always have the most positive attitudes. This is such a dramatic difference in comparison to the USPS (where a judgmental postwoman verbally criticized my shipping choices and announced that I would "REGRET" the shipping option I picked in front of all the other customers)- and where the lines are longer than Disney. The employees at the Skokie UPS are knowledgeable but most importantly they are QUICK! I'm always in and out the door in 3 minutes or less! 3) I can't speak for the Notary or printing services but I definitely need to check that out next time. Shipping has always been an amazing transaction- yes I'm complimenting shipping- and my orders have always been tracked and sent right away! In fact, the last time I returned something from an online order, I was refunded in less than 24 hours! Shipping services are standard and I have no complaints with that. Don't come here for notary services, though. I called twice, each time being told that the notary's hours were unknown. The second time, the person I spoke with on the phone said that the notary was on the way and that I could meet him there. I arrived and he wasn't there -- staff called him then and asked when he'd arrive, and he said he wouldn't be making it there today. They weren't able to provide a specific time frame when he'd be in the next day, either. If you're in need of notary services, go to the Currency Exchange instead! read more

Ruben was very courteous to everyone regardless of race and ethnicity, he greets everyone with pride and courteousness. He then redirect me to use their internet cubicle since their scanner didn't work as expected by just scanning the screen of my phone - I'm returning a cellphone from xfinity . As I tried to do the reprint of my return label - he paced religiously but with ease and composure to make sure everyone's needs is met- and I don't hear any costumer tense voice (a sign of discontent), but rather smiles and pleasurable exchange because of his assistance. Once I was able to complete my reprint - with all his help and Assistance, he graciously refunded/Skip the fee for using the computer ... I had some documents that needed to be signed and notarized. Past experience has told me that just because you do a search on the UPS Store site by notary services and find that it's listed for a location, it may not be true. Either the notary isn't always on site during business hours or there are, in fact, no notary services at all. So, heads up to call ahead to be sure. Lucky for me, this location had a notary there fairly regularly and the building was easy to find. My documents were signed, notarized, and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. I've been to plenty of UPS/FedEx/etc stores in the area, and I have to say this one is my absolute favorite. While they all offer the same services - they don't offer the same customer service. I always drop by in the morning and have had the pleasure of working a few times with Ray, a kind, friendly man that makes the experience like visiting an old friend. Ray is an older man, certainly past retirement age. I have to sheepishly admit that the first time I walked in (in a rush), I was frustrated as I was sixth in a line I thought would take 30 minutes, given that the only employee was a man I judged would be no use with computers. I was wrong. It was almost as if Ray took all of us at once - or maybe it felt that way because I was out of there in 5 minutes. He was able to multitask and service multiple customers at once in a way that inconvenienced no one. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to be there and help, as opposed to the tech-savvy late-20s jerk (for lack of a better word) who doesn't care if there's 1 person in the line or 12, because he operates with the same indifference. And I have to admit - I was wrong about Ray's computer skills. This type of customer service is rare these days. Though I'm not sure you'll ever see this, thank you for humanizing the UPS experience, Ray. Your kindness always brightens my day. See you soon. read more

The customer service at this store can't be beat. On a Thursday, I had to send my kid at college his old laptop because his died - of course, this happened right before finals. I bought a USPS priority mail label online, and went to our local post office to find the box - a game board box - which is a weird size, and which of course, they did not have. This UPS store is on my way to work, and I knew that they had the large priority mail box (which the laptop would just barely fit into) so I figured I'd just try my luck with that - have them pack it with bubble wrap and cross my fingers. The guy there was super helpful, and suggested putting a second box over the opening of the first one for a little more room, which I didn't realize was possible. He bubble wrapped it for a couple of bucks and sealed the two boxes together. The laptop made it to Iowa City on Saturday (yay USPS). Just go to another UPS store, The younger guy was not useful. I had to repeat everything twice to this man. He looked like he was confused and had difficulty reading the computer and answering all of my questions. He also expressed his doubts UPS could get my packages to their destination. I have used UPS in other states with no problem so I disagreed. This UPS store is wonderful! We are a business located in CA. We've ordered some goods from a nearby location and had dropped them off here. The Store Manager, Rich, gave me a call when the goods arrived and asked how and where I would like the items shipped. He was a very friendly and funny man. He wrote down and gave me suggestions on how I should ship my food items and shipped them to the location as requested. The food arrived in piece and ready to eat!
